Too true. Melai is actually very smart and speaks fluent English but doing a parody of herself and her bisaya roots, is difficult to do. She is so spontaneous in her switch to her "Melai" character and bisaya accent.

yes when she is not clowning around or making a parody. Most bisaya are self deprecating people who dont like to brag. Most bisaya grow up speaking visayan and english instead of Tagalog/filipino (which we have to learn in school) or these days thru tv dramas but only conversational filipino. Fluency is not diction. I am bisaya and fluent in both written and spoken english but when I clown for laughs, I do the same thing with my equally fluent in english friends.@@paige172
