One of the biggest differences between how American English native speakers and language learners sound has to do with the vowels or consonants we use. Even when there are shared consonants across languages, like P and B, there can be differences in pronunciation.
Welcome to Wake Up American, where Monday through Friday, we spend a couple minutes on a challenging aspect of American English pronunciation and walk through examples to help you achieve a more natural sound the next time you speak in American English at work, at home, or out and about town.

Wow! This is insightful. Even if I wont use it while talking, it’s still interesting to know.

Hi, great live stream I learned something new about p and b consonant sounds. I would like to use this soft and lightly touching tongue our upper and lower teeth lips slightly straight, not touching lips to each other, rather than saying firm lips touch and block the air. Thanks coach.
