I got the 5.3 max tow, 30 foot 10k lb toy hauler, I would not tow over 10k lb with a half ton. My truck is rated for 11,200 lbs. The truck can do it, but there will be some white knuckle moments. Half ton trucks are most happy towing below 7500 lbs. Above that, I would get an HD truck.
Wow man!!! Extremely great real world reviews. Thank you
🙏🏽
Good review. Not too long and not too short. I’m also glad you review used trucks too. Big plus in my book.
Thank you Shane!
Your review sold me on this truck. Thank you sir.
Love the reviews simple down to the point and real world!
Thanks Nick 👍🏾
Finally clear answer on towing capacity 👍👍🔥 thank you
Just got a brand new Silverado 1500 LTZ Limited with the 6.2 and max tow package. I had same truck but with the 5.3………My new 6.2 is amazing for pulling my trailer with the 10 speed transmission, I also have the towing mirrors which grow on you. This truck is unbelievable, no question!!
Great review and impressive little truck👍 Thanks for going over the towing items that were on this truck.
Thanks Jeffrey! It really was 👍🏾
Great review, I've watched a couple of yours now & appreciate that you go after the perspective that I would look at this from. :-)
JB you really have some of the best videos. Nice work. The heavy duty tow package on half ton chebbies include heavy duty rear diff, heavy duty springs, 220 amp alternator, bigger radiator
Thank you! This truck felt overbuilt and glad I had a chance to tow with it 👍🏾
I believe your one of the best when explaining trailer towing and vehicle description. The chevy looks good towing.
🙏🏾
That sounds amazing when you jump on it. GM does wonderful with their Vortecs 🙏🙏
🔥🔥🔥
Video I’ve been looking for. Shopping this exact truck now.
This truck is a beast!
Excellent video!
Another great video. Thanks JB. The 6.2 is a wonderful engine, one of the best gas engines available IMO. I had it in my 16 Sierra Denali and it pulled my 28’ Jayco TT with ease.
Thanks brother! I was extremely impressed by the power but the 10 speed puts the power down strong. Wish the truck had more engine braking👍🏾
I had i hope for my 6.2l, but unfortunately it let me down hard at 26,000 miles. a lifter blew apart and got caught in the engine, and a piston ended up coming through the side wall. I see that lifter issues is super common on the 6.2l and 5.3l.
My father in law had a similar issue with his 6.2l. We both now own titan XD to pull out campers, could not be happier. The titans transmission gears 1-3 are LOW, in combination with the 4.083 axle, the truck does really well. i am pulling a 10,500lb fifthwheel.
Sure the 6.2l was a power engine, but the reliability just is not there.
@@thechiefenginerthe Titan engine is a joke. They won’t last. Sell it while it runs.
@@jeremylakenes6859 haha, yeah... my titans have been the most reliable... as on now. (knock on wood) My work fleet consists of all brands, and i will tell you that I have been let down HARD my Chevy, Ram, and Fords. In my case, Titan has the best rap.
Just out of curiosity, why do you say the titan engine will never last. In my experience, your statement could not be further from the truth.
@@thechiefenginer my friend who is a mechanic stopped doing engine swaps on Titans because he could no longer find s rebuilder for them. Why do you think they are so cheap used.
I seriously thing most of it is luck. I’ve seen mostly Chevy Trucks and any Toyota hit 160-200k without issue. I won’t touch a chevy/ford/dodge passenger vehicle. They are junk.
I think they discontinued the Titans. Bad mileage and Cummins was a flop and rarely seen above 160,000
Nice work. Thx for the informative review.
Thanks!
Awesome review brah! 👍🤙
Thanks brah! We need to set a date to put the power wagon to work 👍🏾
Great video !!!
Very nice setup
Nice vid again JB. Totally agree on the recommendation to got to HD over 9k... just because you “can” doesn’t mean you “should”. Half tons keep pushing those numbers but they just don’t have the weight and the suspensions to handle five figure weights “comfortably”. Short haul no problem but pulling 13k with this on a regular basis will be an adventure imo😬
Yea 13k with this truck would require diapers... Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
Great video JB! Glad I found your channel. So you really don't think the optional trailering mirrors are necessary???
Yes the 6.2 is very nice also the 5.3 is a good Truck for Towing both are excellent
Good job Silverado! Coming from a 13’ F150 5.0 owner. Hopefully you get your hands on 21’ f150 w/max tow this year! Can’t wait to see weight on that trailer
I agree! If one gets traded in quickly I will try and do a review on one 👍🏾
I got the 5.3 with the max trailering package and it tows good thanks for the video good job
Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
How heavy do you tow?
6.2 is fantastic! Pulls my 27' Fastech which with trailer is like 7400lbs with ease!
I think if you had a equalizer hitch and a slight amount more of tongue weight it would make your trailer more stable across all trucks tested in the 1/2 tons.
Tow a 6,800 lbs Travel Trailer and upgraded from an ‘18 w a 5.3 to 6.2 and Max trailering and it was an unbelievable difference. I will say tho, the trailering mirrors are great for say a travel trailer. Also got the technology package which the best part is when a trailer is connected and u put the turn signal on it puts the mirror camera for which side and shows the side view on the radio screen. It’s great for sharp cornering.
Nice, thanks for sharing 👍🏾
Living in Arizona and going from Phoenix up to the rim country is absolutely hell on your transmission and brakes due to the grades and ambient temperatures. When I was towing with my 2016 5.3 Z71 4x4 my transmission temps would always peak over 200 degrees, with my 2020 6.2 RST Z71 4x4 the temps are around 190.
Very good info. Very good truck.
Thank You K!
Hey Bro! Love your videos
Thanks bro 👍🏾
Great review
Thank you 👍🏾
Love my 6.2 🤘🏻
I tow a 35 ft boat that weighs 12000 lbs with my Silverado with 6.2, max towing etc. It handles it no problem. I pretty much do short trips to the launch and back. The most amazing thing is towing on a level grade and the cruise set at 72 MPH it only cranks 1750 RPM. If I was towing a long distance frequently, I would definitely go 3/4 tow with a DuraMax
That’s very impressive
Great vid!
Thank You!
I have the GMC version in a crew cab of that truck with the max towing. I just got rid of those shitty Bridgestone tires with some new Pirelli tires, and it makes all the difference! I pull an 11,000 lbs boat with mine, the sag on the back it a bit much, but its still awesome. I will never go back to my 3/4 ton.
It was me brother! The 6.2 is a banger
You were right too! Changed my mind for sure 👍🏾
Thanks for the awesome video! How do you think this truck would do with a 30 foot/7500lb camper?
Good review
Thank You!
For the refreshed 2022 GM trucks they now let you put the max tow package on the 3.0L Duramax. It increases the tow rating of the Duramax up to 13.3k. I've got an order on a crew cab standard bed GMC Sierra SLT with diesel and max tow. Seriously can't wait to get it but we have to wait for availability....
I bought new in 2017 a GMC Sierra with the 6.2 8 speed with max towing package crew cab and I ran from southern IL to Virginia towing 10k lbs with Weight distribution bars and Safeway hitch And air bags I had no issues . The truck handled great I ran 70+75 mph . Most of the time I’m towing around 7000 lbs, I noticed a little difference in the weight when I tow 10k lbs . If you adjust your weight and tongue weight ur good to go.
At no time is there ever a reason to tow a trailer at 75mph.
Of course it is and it's the most powerful V8 ever made. I'd want me a pacific blue Sierra 1500 denali with the 6.2L in it!!!
Great job. Great review. I think the fact that you felt good enough to do 80 mph with thousands upon thousands of dollars of your personal property behind you speaks volumes of this trucks capabilities.
I’m surprised in a way and yet not too surprised because I had a 16 model half ton and it handled the weight just fine. I guess what surprises me is the fact that the new body style seems to do just as good in spite of losing around 200-300 pounds. I think this particular truck would be great for someone that only tows a few times a year. Good job again buddy.
I think it has to be the frame/suspension and it’s possible the 6.2L adds additional weight to the overall truck but probably not much... I am very impressed on how well Chevy 1/2 ton trucks tow so far. May have to go back and test earlier generations to see if they improved 🤔... thanks for sharing brother 👍🏾
I think that’s a good idea. I like the fact that you have been testing used vehicles of the current generation of trucks to begin with. Nice to see how they hold up after some real usage.
Looking forward to more reviews especially with this 28’ trailer!
Thanks Matthew 👍🏾
I Loved The 6.2L Big Boy V8, Because It's A Must Motor With A Max Trailering Package,A 3.42 Axle Ratio,It Will Help The Half-Ton Truck Go Quicker.
I pull my 34 ft Cherokee camper with my Silverado 5.3 Grossing out at 14,000 with absolutely no problem,, very happy...
Great info. Just figured.out my 2017 6.2 standard bed denali has.max trailering w 3.42s. Dealership guys always say it feels quick.for what it is, 3.42, corsa and CAI make a small difference. I drove 4 when I bought it and it was the biggest and fastest
Love my 6.2 Silverado! I watched this because I’m looking at buying a 5600lb camper.
I have the 5600lb camper. I watched because I'm looking for a 6.2 with max towing!
The 6.2 is awesome Air ride front end Think about maybe later placing Monroe Shocks on the rear for added support maybe that's it Plenty of power for you
@Matt Kirkland cummins 2500
I have the Sierra Denali with the 6.2 (2018). I I have a 4500lb travel trailer with a weight distribution hitch. I forget the thing is even back there. 😂
6.2 way too go 👍👌
I have a '19 Sierra Denali 6.2 with CAI, exhaust, 22" wheels, 275/50 tires. I got 22.5 mpg (trip average) on an 85 mile 65-70 mph highway trip climbing 1600 ft elevation (~4700 ft-> ~6300ft), passing a few people, full bed, full tank, with wife and 3 kids, and then 28 mpg (trip average) on the way back all on 91 octane. I also pulled an 8,000 lb travel trailer 20 miles (flat no change in elevation) and ended with 16 mpg (trip average) on 87 octane (would have used 91 if I knew I was going to tow). This morning on my way to church 6.5 miles away (flat) my trip average was 24.1 mpg and 25.1 mpg on the way back and there's 7 stop lights, 2 stop signs, and a roundabout with 35 - 50mph speed limits (87 octane). So glad I got the 6.2. I wrestled with getting a truck for years, for fuel economy and practicality reasons, kept trying to cram everything into our SUV that I could get 25 mpg - 30mpg. I have zero regrets now.
My 2020 high country with the 6.2 and muffler delete gets about 15 in town and 18 on highway with just me in it lol. If I really baby it I can get 24 staying around 60mph
On a long stretch to Colorado I kept it 40-45 and got it to 26.
Just a muffler delete
Would love a 6.2 in my 1500 Ram ..great vid JB
eTorque kind of makes up for it but I agree that we need something to compete with GM/Fords V6T. Thanks brother 👍🏾
The 5.7 hemi is not that far off... good tune & CaI you’ll be right beside a 6.2
thank you!
I agree...the best solution if you don't want a 3/4 ton! I have a 2018 Sierra SLT with the package...6.2L and the bigger towing mirrors. It tows a bit less because it is a bigger truck so I get 11,700 towing but I still have an every day 1500 to drive...so much better than the HDs. Finding one used is sort of like looking for a unicorn, but I found one!
I have a 2016 SLT with the 6.2 and I put a set of air bags in the back for the few times a year that I tow trailers. It brings up the back end and doesn’t roll as much. I really wish that it had the 10 speed cause I hate the way the 8 speed shifts.
@@peewee.3138 Same! Works well...and might actually improve the ride without the trailer...
Have you guys tried a tune or anything to get the 8 speed to improve? I just picked up a 2017 with the 6.2 and that engine is amazing, I feel like the 8 speed is like an ex wife to it though.
Great review JB. I think this is the first time you've had more good than bad to saw about a GM product. Just kidding brother 😅.
Thanks bro and lol! I’ve pretty tough on Chevy but as of lately gotta give them those accolades 😂! Let’s catch up soon 👍🏾

JB, based on this review and the comments from your subscribers I'm about to pull the trigger and purchase a 2023 ZR1 6.2 to pull my 24ft TT which weighs about 6,800lbs. The car I'm buying does not have the Max Trailer Package but still has a towing capacity rating of 9,100lbs so I "think" I'll be ok. If anyone has a comment about this assumption your input is welcome! I'm confident that on the flats this truck will be fine. It's pulling in the mountains that I'm a bit concerned about. That said, 90% of the time I'll be just driving this around town so a 3/4 ton HD would be over kill I believe...
I wish gm would incorporate turbos or chargers into the gas trucks...I put a 76mm turbo in my 5.3 rebuilt tranny all billet 10 psi boost I'm putting 405 hp to the wheels 640 ish ft pounds torque on 87 octane gas. It's a pulling machine
I find it interesting that the trail boss with a supposed 2” lift stands only 1.5” taller. Maybe because you had more miles on that trail boss you tested.
Since you test a bunch of trucks is the only difference between a custom trail boss 6.2 and a max tow 6.2 rst a larger radiator and stiffer suspension and 3.42 rear gear? Just wondering if so i could save $ and do a rear gear and bigger rad and air ride in the rear
6.2 is a monster in a half ton! I pull a travel trailer that weighs around 6500 lbs loaded out and it feels very composed doing it. My only gripe is the 24gal fuel tank and I can’t seem to find anyone that makes a larger one.
Yea the 6.2L is a champ! That 24 gallon tank has been mentioned from some other owners too...
I was wondering if it had a larger fuel tank. If toyota and ford can put larger gas tanks in their trucks, why cant chevy? For me, the bigger engine was drawing me to the chevy with the 6.2l, because i like to tow a 6000lb travel trailer, but that small gas tank kills the deal. I just bought a used 2019 tundra, which has the 38 gal gas tank...indispensable for towing long distances.
@@thomasdean5651not if you get 9mpg!!😂😂
I have a 2015 Silverado LTZ crew cab with a 342 gear ratio and a 5.3 engine with Max pull on it so LTZ.
Do these come with a free Sombrero? The rear ends fail early due to improper build in ye old Meheeco. A/C condensers also. Too bad.
yes
Power like I thought. Squat like I thought. Payload and towing numbers better than I would have give it credit for. This would be a great truck for couples towing a moderate size TT. The double cab is a negative for me. Other than that I like it. But , Justin, get some gas lol!
Lmao 😂! Dude this truck had gas but 6 mpg is no joke 🤣🤣🤣! I am very happy with this truck and now I’m really curious how well the RAM half tons will do.
28ft is maximum for something like this. any longer, and it will experience sway like the other trucks I think 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork I own a 2019 6.2 high country Chevrolet Silverado, I added K&N Sistem, Corsa sports exhaust, pedal commander, Road Master active suspension. This is a excellent combination you will be Surprised the the power and handling Suspension. 😊
JB reviews. You should do a towing video on a Tesla cybertruck which can tow up to 14,000 pounds which is insane.
Hopefully Tesla will ask me lol!
Great video. Very little info on these trucks, looking at one to tow my 255BHS fifth wheel 10 or 12 times a year.
Thank you!
Loving the half ton towing videos without a WDH.
I’m really liking the new GM trucks. But the 24 gallon gas tank, with no larger gas tank option, is a deal killer for me on the 1500s.
At 8 mpg, I’d be looking for gas stations (with Premium fuel due to the 6.2) every ~125 miles while towing.
Thanks for sharing and really good point! I’m surprised they don’t add a 36 gallon to the trailering PKG but I’m sure if more people complain, they will do something for the mid fresh 👍🏾
I totally agree. 24g tank is not enough
People gloat about these V8’s but I see the F150 Ecoboost flying uphill towing past them. F150 with a weight distribution hitch does pretty well. We’ve towed a 9500lb boat and cargo trailer and hardly notice it behind the truck.
I agree, that V6 almost feels like a diesel
I had good success towing with my 5.3 concerning handling BUT I didn't feel like it was enough power going up big hills or mountains. I was worried about the strain on the engine long term. I have to wonder about the Ecoboost in that regard as well?
Bought a used ‘22 High Sierra 1500 4x4 w/ the 6.2 in March, then in April drive it from central California to Michigan towing an enclosed 7x16 trailer and got about 9mpg the whole way. Was nervous going over Vail Pass in CO during a heavy snow but it was a dream to drive and handled it like it was nothing. Without towing I’m getting high 16, almost 17mpg. It’s got all the bells and whistles, leather cooled and heated seats, my only complaint is that unloaded it’s a bit bouncy in the ass-end, which has been problematic hitting big bumps on curves and it’s nearly gotten away from me twice. That said, the 6.2 PROBABLY had me going just a skoche too fast to begin with… 🤭
Even my previously owned 2017 1500 Silverado with the 5.3 got bouncy sometimes unloaded. I considered putting some weight back there. Now I have a 2023 F250 4x4 with 7.3 but it doesn't handle as well on the interstate and has too much sway (even with a WDH). My Silverado had no sway and didn't feel trucks at all with my Travel Trailer (6000 lbs). With that in mind...kind of wondering if I should have looked harder at one of these trucks for my camper...second guessing myself.
@@stevo378 our last trip x-country was in my FIL’s ‘17 F-250 King Ranch, and while I had no complaints with it, I’m definitely happier with my Silverado. It’s not that the Ford was “bad”, I just like the way the Silverado rides much more, and it has a few more “creature comforts” that we enjoy too. That said, there’s a definite difference between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton trucks, no doubt. I do wonder how a 3/4t High Country Silverado would ride compared to the 1/2t, and that’s probably where I’ll look for the next truck. But, I have a LOT of miles to enjoy this one first! LOL! Currently debating a CAI as I’m seeking higher mpg. Not really interested in being loud, kinda too old for that, so finding an aftermarket exhaust that won’t deafen us on those long cruises may be tricky.
I added Helper springs ... Only lost 1inch sag pulling 9000 pounds
I just purchased a 2015 Silverado 1500 ltz crewcab, how can I tell if it has the trailer towing package
Amazing that modern 1500s tow more than 2000s 2500s
I have a 2011 GMC SIERRA 1500 6.2L with a 3:42 gears, brake controller, tow package 6 speed and with AWD. It’s rated to tow 9,300 lbs with my configuration, and has a max payload of a little over 1,630 lbs. I can’t find any videos or info on towing with AWD they say it’s not recommended yet it’s rated for 9,300 lbs?! I’m confused… it’s AWD full time. I will tow a maximum of 7,000 lbs here and there. Should I tow with this AWD truck? Or should I get a 5.3L with 3:73 Gears and 2WD? Thought I had a good set up because it has a great engine?! For towing they say and I have the max tow package basically… what’s your opinion or thoughts on that?
How does this feel compared to the 3/4 ton HD Silverado with the 6.6L?? Great vid
Good question, the 6.6L is superior, and chassis handles the weight better overall. The 6.2L felt strong but you have to burn premium and no option for bigger tank 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork If you had to pick 1 as your do everything truck, daily/tow/roadtrip/off road ect, which would you choose?

@@JB_WhoWork I have the rst Z71 trim w/ 3.0l LM2 and it's a great hauler. I did change the shocks (bilstein 6112 / 5160) and put airlift bags on mine to get it to ride level. It's a true hauler setup like this. I pulled a 26ft travel trailer over the hills to San Diego a week ago and never wanted for power. Great stuff. Coupled with empty fuel mileage and it's a real winner.
6.2 baby
🔥🔥🔥
If the trailer is swaying try moving the car forward a couple of inches.
I am looking to tow a lifted jeep Cherokee on an open deck car trailer (6-6500lb total) a few times a year (400 mile round trip). Will a half ton suffice? I had a straight cab 2nd gen Cummins, loved it but sold it due to growing family. Hoping to see you do a 1500 ram soon
That should be fine for a half ton. Make sure you have max tow and WDH would really help with overall control. I have a RAM coming most likely this Sunday 👍🏾
Can you test tow with a ford v6 twin turbo one
Why, Why did you have to show me this truck, haha. I just picked up our Grand Design Imagine 2600rb with my 2014 Sierra. I was causally looked at upgrading he truck. After your review I now have to convince the wife we need a new tow vehicle. This is exactly what I wanted, just in black. After seeing your review I feel like this hit all the check boxes for me. I was also considering the SierraAT4. How does that measure up to the Silverado?
Haha, one of my followers traded his HD in for a 1509 Silverado max tow! They will be about the same in my opinion 👍🏾
I have this same camper and brought it home last fall with my ‘13 1500 5.3L. I was looking at stepping up to a 2500 but now and thinking about staying with a 1500 with the 6.2L and 10 speed. Did you end up getting one and how did it work out? Thanks!
Good video but I think on the transmission I have heard people say you can't feel or tell when it's shifting same with Ford and they both (Chevy/Ford) share the same 10-speed transmission
Good to know! Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
I can tell you that the truck may have some more power than the 5.3 but keep in mind you must use premium fuel and you didn't talk at all about mileage when towing. Let me help you out. If you listen to the engine when accelerating you can be sure to be getting about 8 or 9 miles per gallon max. I don't believe it will get 12. The exact mileage would depend on your weight but looking at what you are pulling, 8-10 on the flat and 7 or 8 in the hills.
Thanks for the video, great info. I have the 2021 trail boss with 6.2L engine but my trailer tow rating is 9300, do you know if I can add the trailering package to increase tow capacity?
No problem! Unfortunately you can’t due to the axle ratio being 3.42 on max tow and yours being 3.23. Some people do change it but your trucks RGAWR could be exceeded if you tow more weight on the truck. 9300#’s is still a lot of capacity for a half ton 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork thanks JB, looking to get a RV in the future and don’t want to buy another truck anytime soon.
There’s plenty of Floorplans with a GVWR under 9k, good luck with your search 👍🏾
No
How much does that trailer and car weigh?
Can you do a towing video with a lifted Sierra or Silverado?
I did one with a trail boss which has a 2 inch lift and I wouldn’t recommend towing with anything over 3 inch just personal opinion. Be sure to check it out 👍🏾
So I’m going to be pulling a 16ft food trailer around 7500-800lbs, will be doing highway runs to events. Can I get buy with the 1/2 ton? I know a HD is best but would love the comfort of the half ton for daily driving.
Hey La’Twan, if you will be on higher end of 8k I would strongly recommend test driving an HD just to compare the ride but as long as you have a WDH and upgrade to an LT tire, this truck should get the job done 👍🏾
My 6.2 just took a dump pulling a 3500 lb trailer at 61k miles. Lifter collapsed and damaged the cam and bent push rods. Ill trade it as soon as it's repaired.
That was not from trailering, it was DFM related I would bet, I have had mine turned off since 10000 miles
How would you compare this truck to the green 2500hd with the 6.0 you tested?
Great question, the 6.2L, 10 speed, and max trailering 1500 outperformed the 2500 in how it put the power down. Transmission held the gears a lot better too.
The only issue with the 1500 is the overall structure, including the frame, suspension, and weight which doesn’t compare with the 2500. Having a heavier truck contributes to better stability which makes the 2500 my choice, and based off the comments, the 6.0L has proven to be extremely reliable 👍🏾
I'm seriously considering the Chevy 1500 with a 6.2. The Chevys available in my area are equipped with the 3.32 axle ratio. I only plan on towing a 4,000-pound boat during the summer, so do I need to find the max towing package or am I good with the 3.23?
You will be fine with the 3.23. If you were pulling 8k up a lot of grades I would go with the highest axle ratio 👍🏾
Sorry if I missed it in the video, whats the weight of your trailer?
9400#’s
What would you recommend for someone in construction? I’m leaning towards the trail boss, the most I tow is a bunch of lumber and sometimes some brick or stone. What’s your thoughts?
It all depends on how often and heavy you plan on towing. If you are only hauling about 7000#’s or less, I think a half ton with max trailering would be fine but if you start getting into 7500#’s or more, I would get a 3/4 ton.
JB Reviews I’ve been towing most of the stuff I get with an 02 Tacoma for the majority of the time I’ve been doing construction so I would assume a Trail Boss would be able to handle what I do just fine lol
The GM trucks tow very well especially with their trailering pkg but I’m probably biased since I own a HD LOL!
Nothing tow better than the ecoboost.
Hey JB I just came across your channel on trailer towing. I'm in the market of purchasing a new truck for pulling my 7x14 enclosed lawn trailer with a GVW of 7000 lbs. Between Chevy and the Toyota Tundra which would you recommend?
Either truck would be fine for that setup but I prefer the Tundra styling over the Silverado 👍🏾
Thanks 👍🏽
The best towing half-ton truck is an F-150 with BOTH the heavy duty payload package and the max trailer tow package. You can only get that configuration on an XL or XLT trim and with a 6.5ft bed. The payload figures on those trucks with Crew Cabs can be close to 2500lbs. That’s right! 2500lbs! That’s more than some fully loaded F-250s with the diesel! Whether you get the Coyote or the 3.5 Eco Boost doesn’t matter much (stick to the V8). The main thing is to get the HEAVY DUTY PAYLOAD PACKAGE! No other half-ton from any other manufacturer will come close!
Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
I've got the F 150 W/ 6.5 bed 5.0 V8 I have the heavy payload and the trailer tow package. I mostly wanted the payload but I'm happy with what I got.
Would like to see a test with the 2.7 liter…
That truck would pass out 😂
What are the gears?
What about the new diesel 6 inline they have for 1/2 trucks for towing? Only bad thing with 6.2 is using premium gas
Very true 👍🏾
Do you need premium for the 6.2 all of the time or just when towing?
I'd like to see Ram 1500 Ecodiesel with Air Suspension. I know the Ram 1500 without Air Suspension will squat bad.
The new Rams are quite impressive on how they handle weight in the back. From 2019 Ram uses progressive springs in the back which make a ton of a difference. We have a 2017 Sport 1500 (Canada model) and a 2019 Sport and it's day and night on the squat...
Man this would be awesome! I will keep my eyes open for one!
What's the tongue weight of your trailer in the video? Just curious....

How's this truck compare to the f150 3.5L Ecoboost with the payload/max tow package?
Eco has more torque and tows more I believe
Seeing you have towed with all these trucks I pull a horse shoeing trailer for work probably about 6,000-7,000 lb I was interested in the 2500 6.6 or the Ford 7.3 but do you think the 1500 with the 6.2 is a better option?
The Chevy halftons are definitely the best option for towing in that ballpark but if you plan on towing long and far, I would go with an HD 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork thanks I tow 5-6 days a week all over ct so I think I'm going to go with a f250 with the 7.3
I think that’s a good idea!
