    This is by far the best transit connect wagon review I've seen. Good job. The rear power button by the climate control is for the rear climate(trizone). The biggest problem with the transit connect wagon is most in market is 6 seater like the one you drive and if you want it as a cargo van, you will have that hole in the middle. Rarely you can find one in a decent spec on 7 seater especially titanium.

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks so much Billy, glad you liked the video! Appreciate you pointing out that trizone climate button
      Agree with you on the build, it's rare to find one like this - and I was really surprised how functional it was. Have you seen how great some of the Transit Connect conversion vans are?

      I had the titanium with sky roof I prefer the non titanium why I always lost my keys I could then start my van or someone could steal it because I could never find them the push button star is way over rated

      @@ajbrown2013 I'd definitely say any push button has a bigger chance of being stolen with fob cloning but now I'm curious if delivery vans are typically something that thieves would target 🤔

    I bought a 2012, a 2020 and today got a 2021 I use them for a delivery van. Only thing I wish it had is a turbo! Better mpg’s faster I do a ton of stop start so a turbo in this would be awesome!

    Thank you, thank you, thank you for showing the horizontal dimension with rear seats folded down. Most videos do not show this and for us considering making this into a weekend camper we need to know that we can stretch out flat to sleep. With 84", one could also place a cot on one side since most folding cots are 73" long. This, along with the gas economy and ability to use it as a daily driver is making me lean more and more to this over the Sienna and the Outback. Many of us are looking for a minimalist vehicle for camping.

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  Před 3 lety +1

      You're welcome! I've seen some really really great conversions using these small Transit Connect vans. Are you thinking of doing a van conversion to a camper?

    • @H.pylori
      @H.pylori Před 3 lety +1

      @@CarsWithSteve Thanks for asking. No conversion. Too old and no mechanical skills. I just want to see some of the western U.S. Was always working two jobs and raising a family. Now alone, and want to do the National Parks, etc. When talking to a friend about wanting a low cost, good gas mileage vehicle, and admitting that I can't afford the fancy gadget vans that they try to sell you, my friend said, "What you want, then, is a motorized metal tent!" And the Transit minivan fits what I need. The passenger van will have some insulation and plastic side walls since I can't nor desire to build out a cargo van. That is why the inside dimensions were important for me.

    • @H.pylori
      @H.pylori Před 3 lety

      @@MLELLIOTT Sorry, did not mean to suggest that the Transit Van was mechanically better than the Sienna. Price was the issue. At the time of the original comment and prior to the new car shortage, the basic Ford Transit Van could be purchased for about $30,000, the Sienna for $35,000 to $39,000. Since I project my camping needs will be for about 2-3 years, the Ford should work. If I intended to keep the van for 5-10 years, I would prefer the Sienna.

    I've owned a 2016 model for some years, and I like it very much. It has a 2.5L engine. It's just fine for my needs. I find it so useful for my cycling sport. I can just open the rear door and put my bycicle standing in between the second row seats. I removed the third row seats to make even more room in the back, to put my bycicle there even more easily. My Transit works well all the time, and it is economic in gasoline mileage. I usually like the cars that Consumer Reports magazine doesn't like. They only like fancy expensive vehicles. This one is not fancy, just modest and practical.

      @@CarsWithSteve Thanks for your reply. I've had 2 issues: 1) the mechanism that moves the fabric that covers the sunroof failed. It was very expensive to repair, and it's something that I don't need. So, somebody suggested to eliminate the fabric and tint the glass of the sunroof with the darkest tone. I did that and problem solved. 2) a couple of times, a bearing failed, but it was replaced. Other than that, I don't remember anything else. There have been a couple of factory safety recalls, which Ford has taken care of for me. The van is reliable, and I take good care of it.

      Hey Justin, glad you enjoyed the video! I was literally going to suggest plywood and then saw it at the bottom of your comment. A piece of plywood or another removable tray would be a great idea to keep the back of the seats protected while you're using it for business. You could also look at storage tubs to keep everything organized and easily removable as well.

      Sucks to hear yours hasn't been reliable... If you were to look at either the Telluride or Carnival you'd lose a few inches of head space and depth but you'd gain about 2" of width. Carnival
      92" max depth / 28" max height / 48" width between wells
      The Transit Connect may also be in its last production year so it'll be tough to get your hands on one. If you take care of it and don't overload it, these can last. Rustproofing is useful for the underside too
