STARFIELD HARDCORE SURVIVAL MODE - Complete Rules of Engagement:
You must play the game on Very Hard Difficulty
PLUS...
1. NO MEDS
-------------------
You can only use meds that you craft yourself
2. NO PURCHASES
-----------------------------
You can only purchase the following:
Ship Modules (for ship builds)
Ship Parts (for repairs)
Ship Repair Services
Medical Healing Services (hire a doctor to heal you)
All other purchases are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.
3. NO OVERBURDENING
------------------------------------
You are not allowed to move while exceeding your maximum carry weight.
4. NO UC FLIGHT SIMULATOR
--------------------------------------------
You are not allowed to use the UC Flight Simulator to power level the Piloting Skill (or any other skill)
Plus...
NO COMPANIONS
NO CREW
NO CONTRABAND
NO THEFT
Plus....
If you wish to earn the title of Hardcore Survivalist Starborn, you must complete the Seven Gauntlets of the Galaxy (to be revealed as the walkthrough progresses).
And in case you haven't quite grasped all the ramifications of these rules of engagement, all this means you have to play Starfield without using any meds that restore health, without buying ammo, resources, weapons or armor and you have to go into combat with Very Hard difficulty enemies that are utter bullet sponges.
If you decide to take on this challenge, well all I can say is...

Ah yes, the unfortunate life of Bud Uglee. That was the challenge run that finally got me out of Skyrim. The Pure Argonian is the only challenge left that could be harder. And I don't want to trigger another 10 minute rant about how impossible it is lol.

Just finished the video and have a "RULES OF ENGAGEMENT Query" - I've had some luck stealing landed ships on Kreet, though it's a bear. Rule check - can I do this instead of getting a pirate ship on the way to Kreet as you did? Thanks Major. Looking forward to part 2. You need a bed big time.
Why not just commandeer the Crimson Fleet Ghost like it's shown in the video?

Skip all the Main Quest dialogue. I have no problem with that. Keep most of the other dialogue though as you might go down routes you've not shown before.

As an old fan of yours, and have only played Skyrim and not Starfield, I like watching these for the similarities to the Skyrim vids. I just have no ideas whats happening lol

I wonder if future slack knows that they patched the 'invincible' ship. Slack made some excellent points about why everyone was crying about this game being too easy. It's an awesome game.

the hotkey on xbox you push on any arrow of the dpad and it open the crux were you put your favorite then you choose what you want . To open the scanner just push LB so on xbox it's easyer to go with the scanner to use the cutter. And i vote for skip dialogue. That gonna be a hell of a challenge :)
You left something out there. You said you push LB to open the scanner but that doesn't automatically equip the Cutter. There must be another button you press to bring up the Cutter while the Scanner is active.

The rant about vendors with plentiful resources may be true. But the reverse can also be true. It can certainly be a difficult issue developers must deal with.
Why would there be miners deep in the planet/moon/whatever when there's so many planets in the game with surface materials? Is there even a mineral not found on the surface somewhere?
I get the reference to Captain Quirk! A captain by that name appeared in my favorite joke book from middle school, "Strange Jokes From Outer Space". A sample joke: An alien couple are flying around Earth in their saucer on their honeymoon. He: "What do you think of the Grand Canyon, my dear?" She: "It's just gorges."

Hmmm, so yo dumped the Synapse Alpha, but it is not a med, but something you can use to aid you in research projects. And said projects are what you are going to need to make meds...Seems counterproductive.

When I said 'meds' I meant any and all pharmaceuticals in the game. I thought that was clear when I said you were allowed to use any meds that you can craft.
