I just rode this trail on my all factory klr 650 with camp gear. Really difficult and exhausting on a heavy bike. I’ll have a vid soon. You and Jenny are champs for doing this.
"I dun told you, i'mma finish this damn here railroad" lol Hell on Wheels soundtrack I think I have decided, my TAT bike will be a Honda CB500 X Adventure Many thanks for uploading these videos!
You guys are crazy. I love it. I've put plenty of rocky trail miles on a XT225 myself. It won't win may drag races but it's a heck of a mountain goat. Rock on Juan and Jenny.
I have great admiration for you both, but especially Jenny Morgan. There isn't a more eloquent spokesperson for the benefits of riding a midrange adventure bike.
Rode the Rubicon 7 or 8 times, in both directions, not sure why? Best bike was my little Suzuki PE 175 2 stroke, long, low seat height & not pipey. My 400 2 stroke Husky had the power, but was taller & heavier. I can't imagine riding a big heavy bike like Jennie's. She must be made out of spring steel. Favorite part of the trail was coming back up Cadillac hill, where you could carry a little bit of speed. If you like "Technical" riding, you might want to run the Fordyce Lake Jeep trail (Check outflow levels first) & Loops 5 & 6 of the Forest Hill OHV trail system. Thoroughly enjoy all your videos, keep them coming Forrest Green
Hi Forrest - hee hee, I've been talking about the Fordyce with Juan recently! Not sure I'd want to do it with the CB500X, but it's definitely on the list a little later this year once the water levels are low. Glad you enjoyed our little adventure on the Ruby!
I've done this trail a few times on ATVs but that was many years ago. I wouldn't bother on a bike for the very reasons seen in this video. :) Besides, I'm thoroughly impressed they weren't stuck in traffic with 10,000 Jeeps, since they seem to have the place locked up pretty much every weekend from Spring to Fall.
I've been through the Rubicon in a jeep a couple times but never on a bike. That must of been a workout for sure. Definitely something I'll have to try someday.
You folks brought back some great memories of riding off road. Another thought that kept popping into my head was "Where's Malcolm Smith when you need him"!!!!!!(:>) Another GREAT Video.
Wow, wow, wow, both of you got more guts than I have, I'm a old guy that doesn't like pain to me or bike, crf250l type of guy, with that said I live it through the great video's like yours that are on CZcams. 17 hrs I bet wasn't even thought about when you began the 12 mile. I can only say Awesome, I salute you both. I'm impressed with a bike that size making it back in one piece. Anyway looks like your calling in Monday to rest up. Thanks for you great video. Wa.State fan
Aside from the great Lake Oroville Dam coverage, you're also a real gearhead with a passion for adventure. That makes it all the better for me to be subscribed to your channel! :D
Great stuff. ...fearless riding from Jenny as ever. Can't believe how unscathed the bike was afterwards! . If it was fitted with a super lightweight winch it would be unstoppable! Steve
I live 15 minutes from the trail on the Tahoe side. I've done the trail with my buddy in his jeep, but I've only ridden my DRZ to observation point. I'm not brave enough to run the whole trail on my bike.
"...and right at that moment son, I decided to buy our Cb500x, not a tiger 800… 800gs and of course not a 1200gs... But an amazing half way between trail and adventure bikes! Honda's perfection!"
What a grueling "trail" you guys tackled. Almost seems unfair to have Jenny do it on the 500 but she was up to the task with such a cheery disposition after it all. Well-done on the editing. Wearing protective gear is top priority, obviously.
The guy who bought your a 4runner is glad it didn't do the Rubicon too! The Rubicon Trail is a torture test. It's good to know someone else has done it in a similar rig but not if they want to buy it after.
Holy cow! That is a rugged trail. I think Jenny should have been wearing body armor. Juan, does the CB500X need any upper crash bars and do the crash bars add a lot of weight? I noticed that Jenny's upper panels seemed fine even though she fell a few times.
I've done the Rubicon on a 2012 Kawasaki KLR650. It was a bear to get that pig across there. I can only imagine a big twin cylinder ADV bike trying that. Tip of the hat to Jenny
Looked like a tough day of riding that you'll both remember a lifetime. Well done!!! Just curious Juan, How do you think you're Ktm 350 would have done on this. Did you think about using that??
Yes it was...I considered the 350, but I wanted to try the Serow and enjoy a lower seat height while paddling thru the rocks. The 350 would do great, especially it you have long legs!
this trial looks killer, I'm sure of doe on anything other than my good old kz 85 sewing machine. but 12miles is about 20km, not much elevation gain/loss, so I'd be able to hike that in 5 hours, with a 35g load there back 10 hrs, an hour rest and back again, I could pack my kz faster than I could probably ride it. Anyway good fun. week since to the both of you.
Christini do make an AWD system (well, complete frame & forks assembly) for the CRF450 - so it might be feasibly to build a CRF450L with that set-up? - that would be an awesome bike!
It would sure would suck to have to leave your bike way out there and walk back, only to have to retrieve the bike later... all the while worrying about its safety. I guess you'd have to hide it. I had a Suzuki GS650EZ sport tourer back in the 80's.
Don't think you would have wanted to attempt that on the Africa twin thats 40kgs heavier & more than twice the price 😯 then again..."she wont say no" 😂😂😂
I just rode this trail on my all factory klr 650 with camp gear. Really difficult and exhausting on a heavy bike. I’ll have a vid soon. You and Jenny are champs for doing this.
I've seen a few videos of riders on small dirt bikes riding the Rube and was impressed. This is beyond that! Great video Juan!

I think I have decided, my TAT bike will be a Honda CB500 X Adventure
Many thanks for uploading these videos!
well been thinking of byeing a 2019 cb 500x this vid helped me make my mind up
good job i would not even want to walk that track 👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊😊😊

Yes it is!...Thanks Kwebs!
Good to know I want to do this trail on my 2017 xt250.
That's awesome. I'm super impressed with that Honda and its mods

Fantastic! Another great adventure with Juan.
Thanks for coming along!...(I don't know how I'm gonna top this one...)
Awesome video. You both crazy and we love it. Thanks !!!
Chapeau! Top trip. Ry Cooder to boot. Nice to have good music credited.
Yes! Thanks Bob!

Absolutely love this video. Just as much as I love my CB500X.

edjrmorgan yes! Thanks for watching...we're going back both on the little Yamaha 225s. I built one up special for this trail.
Killer ride and killer video, thanks Juan!
Thanks Andrew!
You sure do have a special guest. Excellent video/editing. Thank you.

Awesome one for the bucket list.
Yep! bring a small bike...
Jesus! what a great vid and what great comradery to get through that goat track, hats off to both of you
Amazing job you two~! Awesome!!
Now that looks like a great day! Thanks for sharing.
Great stuff. ...fearless riding from Jenny as ever. Can't believe how unscathed the bike was afterwards! . If it was fitted with a super lightweight winch it would be unstoppable! Steve
Jenny you're a bad ass!!! I'm glad the serow/xt225 did it! I want to do this on my 2017 xt250.
Awesome! Love the sound of that 500cc motor.
Geeez yall tough as nails!. Thanks. !!

Great Adventure! Done it many times with a Ford Courier rock Crawler. Everyone must do the 'Con at least once, if they have the chance.
This is just amazing! Thanks for the great video and the channel in general!
Respect, Jenny! Apparently there is long way I can push by CB500X ;)
Wow! Best "Adventure bike" video out there. Jenny made it look easy :D
Adrenaline pumping adventure. Not for the mild at heart for sure. Great video.
The theme song from "Hell on Wheels" ... fitting :)
this is your best video. Great.
Mike Beeman Thanks Mike!...spread the word...
what a ride! fun stuff, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Charles!
cool video , I'm glad I never took my 4Runner on that trail when I lived in cali
The guy who bought your a 4runner is glad it didn't do the Rubicon too! The Rubicon Trail is a torture test. It's good to know someone else has done it in a similar rig but not if they want to buy it after.

No real need for upper crash bars.
Juan this made it to Thai Visa www... in the motorcycle section...
17 hours to go 12 miles! haha That was a crazy road.
Nice go of it.. great video!
Top star as always Jenny, glad you didn't go in that "fuckin gulley" LOL, Terry, South Wales
I've done the Rubicon on a 2012 Kawasaki KLR650. It was a bear to get that pig across there. I can only imagine a big twin cylinder ADV bike trying that. Tip of the hat to Jenny

AWESOME, to you both.
Thanks Rooster!
If only the mighty luscombe was there to enjoy it too!
Terrific!
There is no way I would try that. Yikes! I can't believe you did that. WOW!
Maybe I'll try riding the Rubicon on my '84 Honda Goldwing...assuming there's an evacuation helicopter standing by.
that did look very hard to do 12 mile in 15 hours, that's good going on the 500X adventure.
awesome ride guys......
My goodness, this is crazy :) all of this with our little Commuter Bike ;)
Superb. Well done.
I'd like to tackle the Rubicon on a TW200 one day.
Man, now I want that bike so bad. Screw the GSs...
this trial looks killer, I'm sure of doe on anything other than my good old kz 85 sewing machine. but 12miles is about 20km, not much elevation gain/loss, so I'd be able to hike that in 5 hours, with a 35g load there back 10 hrs, an hour rest and back again, I could pack my kz faster than I could probably ride it. Adrian Haddock yes, it would be easier to simply walk it...lol
i want this bike so bad!
Get you one...
Really awesome!
im so confused.
Adventure? Yes... Fun? It doesn't look fun pushing all the time. I salute them.
you got it...I was the 'sherpa' lol.
Awesome!
Respect
all we need now is an AWD 400cc dual sport that can hit the roads and trails!! but that will never happen
Christini do make an AWD system (well, complete frame & forks assembly) for the CRF450 - so it might be feasibly to build a CRF450L with that set-up? - that would be an awesome bike!
Now the clutch is down?
I am very confused
me too
Yeah, that happens to me too. I think this was a difficult test for any motorcycle. It looks like they made it and shit. :-D
It would sure would suck to have to leave your bike way out there and walk back, only to have to retrieve the bike later... all the while worrying about its safety. I guess you'd have to hide it. I had a Suzuki GS650EZ sport tourer back in the 80's.
yep!
That's "Bultaco Country" ;)
she is badass
Ah...gotta get the carbs back on my bike!!
i can't imagine doing that with no eye protection
That's my mama,,, 🤗
👍❤👍
A lot more fun in a jeep!
Hi, you should consider engine guards. Bye
Hehe...
WOW!!!
Don't think you would have wanted to attempt that on the Africa twin thats 40kgs heavier & more than twice the price 😯 then again..."she wont say no" 😂😂😂
Normally I'd accuse Americans of taking inappropriate gear to far away places, but in this case the Brits win. lol
She don't like to get too hot, dehydrated and fatigued...we did anyway lol.
Just buy enduro. Why honda cb500x?)
