Trying to get it….. I’ve learned the notes on the neck some exercises and scales so it’s time to learn theory. You’re a good teacher and at a great starting point for me, thank you and looking forward to more

i saw your post on the fb group guitar lesson for beginners. wanted to give support and help you achieve monitzation. (speld wrong). now im not really a beginner. but in a sence in am. ive never had a lesson. always too expensive. and my supremely talented musician friend kept the secrets of music from me. like i wasnt allowed in that world. so i muddled around playing on and off for almost 50 yrs. thing i have going. perfect timing. fantastic ear. i can whistle pitch perfect. 3 octive vocal range. controled vibrato and great faulsetto. most times i had no amp or stereo to listen to the song id like to play. hell i learned seek an destroy by whistlig 1 not at a time, find that not on my ax then move to the next not all from memory. when i finally saw them play it i was off like 4 note. i pick up a couple of chords but couldnt tell the name or what key. ive played in a couple bands. 1 at 13yrs old. we new 1 song. temples of syrinks. we entered a talent show at school and won. we didnt have amps so the teachers let us off from classes, gave us a couple but to rent some and told us to go to every teacher in school and plead our case. now we got the money. how to get said amp. 1 sweet teacher whose husband ran the metal shop had a van and hed be glad to help. and you know how it ends. so years went by. to much work not enough time to get lessons and still out of reach of my pockets. i thought i gave up music at 50yrs. then got very sick for yrs. finally at 60 my health came back. my aide daughter told me she wanted to learn guitar and the spark came back. and with the internet i can finallyknow the chords i had to make up in the past. get those scales learned and learn that damned theory. i knew some, only because i knew some notes go to gether some dont but theres a way they might. i have learning disabilties from birth. ive surpassed just about everything i thought id never understand. ive a degree top of my grad class. anyway i knew alot more than i thought i knew. friend would always beg me to play..and said i was great. id scream IM NOT. i just faked it and made it sound good. but i knew in my heart. i really dont know how to play. ok im running on. ill stop. ive found most teachers on youtube dont really play the songs correctly. ill generally take a bit from this one a little from that guy and put it together to make it sound at least better. here nor that. my point theory kills me. the mental block is up and just cant seem to get it. so here we are. my ear are open my heart is anxious PLEASE, PLEASE. bring me to the light. here to support and spread the word. make me a beleiver. i have faith. oh and thank you if you actually took the time to read all that. god bless. here we go. lesson number 1

Thank you so much for your reply, and yes I read every word. You sound like you've had a huge journey and you've got some nice natural talent. I aim to make these lessons really simple but to cover everything, all the way to the advanced stuff. So hang in there and let me know any questions you have in the comments.

The thing I love about music theory is that once you "get it" it's like a lightbulb turns on in a dark room and erything just starts making sense. Except for progressive jazz. LOL!

Progressive jazz....fine line between insane theory and none at all 😆
