  • Thumbs Up Charter Services recently assisted the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) with their Walleye tagging program. Two MDNR biologists were on board the Little Lady. Walleye that were 18" in size and over were tagged for the study.
This tagging program is unique in that it utilizes telemetry, which allows the MDNR scientists to follow the movement of the Walleye throughout the season.
The MDNR will be able to better understand where the Walleye go, and if they leave Saginaw Bay, do they return in the fall. It will also help them trace their movement in the many tributaries the Walleye could use in the fall and winter months, and where they spawn in the early spring.
