I couldn’t believe it when Hamilton locked up, he is always the last driver you would expect to make a silly mistake like that. Accidentally hit the wrong switch or something. It was oddly satisfying to see him get beaten by Mazepin. Even the best can have the worst days.
Mercedes deserves 3 points for their "So reverse grids, hear us out" tweet they sent out after fp1

Perez did the job perfectly: He gets up to 3rd and in the mix with Verstappen and Hamilton, Hamilton pits early and they box Verstappen next lap and leave Perez out one more lap because he can handle his tyres, Perez manages the overcut too and blocks Hamilton while Verstappen gets away. He even gets the win when Verstappen is out out the race. Absolutely what they wanted in a second driver, he is absolutely the guy they need and will stay next year
Unless he botches most of the season that’s left

Why is nobody talking about Giovi's amazing start? He gained 5 places after one sector! For some reason he pitted after 3 laps losing him loads of time

@@phoenixav9550 Giovi overtook more places then stroll, who started in front of him. At the first corner only he overtook 3 cars. Yes mate
"Pirelli must investigate the incidents in Baku"
Still not found explanation about Silvestone 2013
They blamed the blowouts in 2013 on some sharp curbs if I remember correctly.
No it was a combination of things. First the tyres in 2013 were a bit rediculous, second the kerb at aintree had a very sharp edge that cut the tyres, third they think the teams were taking liberties with the tyre pressures and finally the teams ran A LOT of negative camber on the wheels which wore out the tyres out a lot.
Obviously pirelli weren't blameless and there had been a lot of fuss up to that point that they went too far with the tyre wear.

Verstappen’s tyre failure cost him a ten point swing, Hamilton’s lock up likely cost a 25 point swing. This was a very important race despite their gap not changing

Seb's not officially back on track until we see the (index) finger again.
What I find truly scary about the tyre failures, specially Verstappen's one is that if it had happened a tiny bit earlier and to the left hand side of the track, we could be dealing with a faaaar worse accident.
Never realized how dangerous Baku's pitlane entry is until Nico Rosberg said it on his last F1 Fridays video but he is right, it's just a matter of time, we've only had 5 races here and we've seen plenty of crazyness already. That pitlane should ve revised.
