I'd watch my first major league home run too. Deal with it.
If you spit towards my base ill come after you deal with it
@@3rdeyeguy236 than you get KO'ed deal with it after you wake.
@@poppopartist3870 Yup this is how they deal with it
Some pitchers are too toxic look at Madison Bumgarner
David Webb that’s literally impossible
"Jose did some 21 year old things during that sequence, he acted like a kid" but meanwhile the one throwing the tantrum "comes from a baseball background and understands the situation."
Tdez92 that’s exactly what I was thinking while watching
Thank you Ugh...Reggie Jackson was known for that.lol seriously he was
Cant spit at the base after watching the HR bruh. Disrespect to the fullest.
Exactly. Grumpy white player gets mad. News at 11
Justin Williams I think it’s dumb that pitchers get pissed for batters celebrating a home run it’s like you just threw a fastball down the middle it’s not my fault
"My name is Chris Johnson and I can't have fun." -Chris Johnson (probably)
And when I get mad I have to hide behind an ump
Sports are just too dramatic for me to follow anymore they all keep getting man periods over every little thing its too much drama too keep up with
Chris Johnson continuously was an issue for the Braves.
@@FathomMane this was six years ago lol
Kenny Pritchett and nowadays ain't much different lmao
Chris Johnson with the Academy Award for best “Tough Guy.” Fly high, Jose. 🙏
Probably was flying high on the coke when he hit it.
Lol.. as he ran down the 3rd baseline... circumnavigated the ump and got behind him. Lmao. He had a clear path to fernandez but instead, looped around the ump and got behind him lol. Good times.
DrWarcloud36 and ended up literally in the very back of the crowd
Lmaoo I've seen drunk college kids act the exact same way as Johnson when they get into a fight. His behavior is so cringe for a grown man
what the hell is the problem with watching your first home run? or any home run?
kid cranked one out. so what?
Bad Wolf Racing The only thing he did wrong here was spit in third base. That’s what pissed off Johnson.
@@jonpierce3340 third base players spit at 3rd all the time. So do the umpires and third base coaches and base runners at third. Literally nothing wrong with it. He didn't spit at the bag or the player or anyone.
Payperheirplain well apparently there was something going on last inning and I guess Chris Johnson was involved. So when Jose spit he probably took offense to it
You just don't do that.
Never.
No "first MLB HR" exception.
huarachudo47 yes you do it’s called playing with emotion. And if you’re going to get pissy about it don’t throw a bad pitch. Pitchers celebrate when they strike batters out
As soon as pitchers stop their excessive yelling and fist pumps when they strike someone out, batters will stop admiring and celebrating.
Exactly right!
I hope that was sarcasm.
@rustytr Did you think that one up all by yourself, Sally?
No they won't
Erik United Kingdom exactly. Why can one do it and the others not?
1:41 Johnson said " I will beat the Fxxx outta that dude right now!" Right after he hides behind the ump!!
No body else noticed it lol
I did lolol
I’m not alone 🙏🏽
I noticed right away. He made a pretty clear route to go directly behind the umpire and let himself get pushed back by his other teammates...comical!
Noticed that one too... as soon as he raced in from 3rd he hides behind the Ump...
Johnson is real tough, he runs directly behind the umpire and his teammate. Lol
Recovery House of Worship The Movement ya, i noticed that... coward
I said the same exact thing on a post higher up.. he had a direct line to fernandez but circumnavigated the ump and got behind him lmao
Amd then immediately, without any resistance, gets lightly pushed to the back of the crowd.
lmaoooooo
lmao
Johnson runs in from third.....immediately gets behind the umpire!!! 🤣🤣🤣
That's exactly what I just saw too! He's the Cindy Crysby of baseball!
Dudes a bitch lol
I noticed that as well. I'm suprised he didn't take out his cell phone call the kid and whip him over the phone.
Fucking Atlanta what a bunch of crying bitches they are pissed off in the first place cause they suck sweaty donkey balls then someone wants to watch their home run hit fly into the stands and they throw a temper tantrum like a bunch of no talent Nancy boys fuck Atalanta spot teams .
Hell yeah, hold me back hold me back I'm jealous.
How many pitchers hit home runs.... if I were a pitcher and hit a home run, I would be still standing there admiring it 6yrs later!!!
they don't hit home runs because they are lazy. they should practice hitting. Be a threat. Instead they ate pretty much a sure out.
Mike McMillen they devote all their time to pitching. They’re not lazy
Bonds used to admire *his* HRs for 2-3 years at least!
@@basilmarasco1975 and he hit those all the time!!!
They focus on pitching. That's why. And some pitchers like Randy Johnson or Zach Greinkie did work very hard to be good hitters. Last year Zach Greinkie became the first pitcher to hit for the cycle in month of April
REST IN PEACE HOMIE, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN
Can only imagine Jose's numbers today.... He was a fantastic pitcher and damn so glad he watched that homerun!!!
He would have been suspended and probably banned for cocaine use
If it's any consolation, he accomplished a lot in his short life. He pitched in MLB at age 20, was a two-time all star in a four year career, and finished 3rd in NL Cy Young voting in his rookie year, when he won the NL rookie of the year award. A true phenom who did more impressive things than almost anyone who lives to be 75 will do. It's amazing. I remember his 5-Hour Energy commercials just last week, and to think that man is gone now is just shocking.
What I am baffled about is that he WILL appear on the cy young voting this year. Probably top 5. That's how good a season he had, but he is gone at the same time. Chilling thought that I am trying not to keep thinking about.
Jj
Sure, phenomenally impressive things like crashing a boat and killing two other men.
@@kdwaynecshit happens past is the past
Jose's reaction to his HR is actually pretty tame to today's baseball. They have come a long way.

Come a long way? It's only been 6 years mang.
It’s because he spit at the third basemen

Man, we sure celebrate HR’s differently in 2019. RIP Jose Fernandez.
This commentator is so sensitive about the kid taking a peak at his first home run. Almost as bad as the crybaby Braves here.
This is not chess, or the PGA golf here. In baseball, we can celebrate, we can cheer, we can yell in excitement. Don't try to make the sport boring.
? You do know that was Marlins commentator. He wasn't against it
And youre going to offend the other team and their will be fights.
Django_The_ Collector right but he was trying to justify the anger from the Braves. I don’t really see a problem with what he did either though lol
He spit at the third basemen
Dustin Koch he didn't spit AT him, just at the ground. Perceive it how you'd like, like Johnson did..
Jose was great for baseball. He is sorely missed.
Gone WAY too soon. It almost doesn't feel real. Rest in peace to a great young star.
Yeah it really doesn't feel real. That's how I've felt about it all day. The things that can happen in this world, man.
It really doesn't feel real. Only been a little over a week but it's just not the same without him. Life is just too fragile

This could also be titled “Chris Johnson’s fragile masculinity”.
Alvin Figueroa instead of fragile masculinity, let’s use less sexist terms and just say he’s got a fragile ego
Brendan Reguera are you going on a sexist crusade for all sexist terms or is this your starting point? Because starting with a term that is basically referring to a man falling short of an
idea of the cultural representation of a man, is probably the wrong side of the scale to start on. I’m not the sexism police though so what do I know?
I like how he ran in from 3B and then stood behind the umpire and started mouthing off.

The way Johnson runs all the way around to be behind the ump on his teams “side” ....comedy!🤣
Not manly at all
Johnson runs in and gets behind the ump and catcher and then runs his mouth, instead of going straight up to jofer. that's a hold me back ,I'm mad move. .looked ridiculous
I know right fuck that bitch Johnson
+Willis103 McCann, a veteran was basically just saying " this is the majors, we dont do that here. act like you do it all the time" and just thought he got too cocky. but Fernandez was in all honesty a great and humbled man.
that and mccann is a piece of trash in general. this was 2013...the braves were constantly crying and starthing shit about home runs that year
The funny thing is Johnson sprinted from third and intentionally put himself behind 4 other players giving himself enough distance to safely act like a tough guy.
because when they are already engaged in discussion, you're supposed to take the side where your dugout will be coming from. If he would have approached him from behind, that would be considered bush, and now you're back is to the other teams dugout. It's the proper way to engage in a minor dust up like this where a fight hasn't started but you want to get your point across.
Their going to be 24 other guys on the other side got.to play it smart
Chris Johnson is a thug and I never liked him. Unfortunately, as a Braves fan, I had to put up with him and his antics every night.
Noticed that as well, sprinting as fast as he could towards home plate and had a perfect angle to confront him. Lol...
First and Ten I totally agree, he sprinted like he was gonna do something. Then had the audacity to use the “you’re all talk” hand gestures like he did something 😂😂😂
Jose was truly a good guy. He saved his Mother from drowning when they were coming on a small boat from Cuba. He was only 15 when he jumped into the ocean to save his Mom. Truly a hero in my book. R.I.P. Jose Fernandez.
Then totally undid all of that in the end. Sorry nice try buddy.
He wouldn't have had to save her if they came legally

Funny how my comment got deleted because i stated facts about the history of America while explaining to someone why it's bad to come here illegally. Yet they can make racist assumptions and that stays up. Thanks Google/ CZcams, your pathetic libtard agenda is really working there.
RRtradestar no, but really how did white ppl get here? What was their immigration process?? And just to show how uneducated you are he couldn’t have escaped Cuba “legally” because it’s a communist country that doesn’t let its citizens leave. So please explain how he could have came her “legally.”

what the HELL man? Since when did admiring your homerun become a problem? People did this in almost every game back in the day. Now it's taboo?? GROW UP BRAVES!!
It's not the fact that he was "admiring" his homerun, it's the fact that he was smack talking.
The fight started because Fernandez spit as he was rounding 3rd.
Jorge Jhones lol oh no, spitting not even in the direction of another person, call the police! :) This isn't fucking golf. If anyone needs to grow the fuck up it is Johnson in this situation. The kid just hit his first home run in the big leagues, let him have his moment you whiney little bitch :)
Deez Nuts LOL'd so hard
It's a problem when you're a rookie, when it's a meaningless homerun to the game, you watch forever, and then you spit on thrid base. Yea there's nothing wrong with that.
Johnson had a straight line to him but ran and hid behind the ump before he started mouthing off at Fernandez...big man he is!
They were just jealous. He was 🔥🔥🔥 and the crowd LOVED HIM.
We miss you José....
Rest in peace. You will never be forgotten.
I'm super shocked that this happened RIP
Yea...eventually he will be forgotten. We all will.
I'm afraid so.
Maybe, But I don't know that I'll forget before I'm dead. I remember almost everyone that I admire who has passed in my lifetime. I think in 40 years I might look back or tell the grand-kids about a pitcher that died wayyy too young and had an amazing talent. Who had a ceiling as high as he wanted. About a pitcher who might have gone on to win 300 games and and be top 5 in strikeouts... I might remember what might have been. The main reason I say that is, beside the fact I'm a huge baseball fan, but because All-Star talent, potential greats, and 24 year old's in sports don't die often, its not a common occurrence. Plus the fact that I knew his back story. About how he came to the US, and how much he sacrificed to get here and how hard it was. Its a very unique thing. Thats the reason why I say he might just not be forgotten... RIP JF#16
sorry I had to... rest in piece... lol really?
RIP... Way too young
Hey KRDE
he didn't need it. I cry just to see or hear his name. great person on and off the field.

well he died under the influence of cocaine and heavy drinking...
I love how Johnson immediately runs behind McCann 🤣🤣 we miss Jose Fernandez!!
Life lost so young tremendous Talent rest in peace✝️
So they picked a fight because he hit his first homer?
They should be congratulating the guy.
It was because he slapped their whole team in the face by watching it until it cleared the fence from the batter's box. It's just a common courtesy from almost every batter that when he smack a dinger you've already gotten the best of the pitcher and the D, so you don't need to rub it in any further by watching it. If I were 21 and just launched a home run as a pitcher I would have done a lot more celebrating than he did though haha
If I knew I'd hit a homer, I'd sure as hell watch it fly out of the park. It's my first one for crying out loud. Braves are a bunch of babies
Mathew Arseneau So what, Atlanta has been picking fights on whoever gets a home run. McCan is the man agitator. Who fucking cars if he took a peak. Baseball background... omg who cares. Its a home run. take it and try to win. if you can't then fuck off ya know
It seems the Braves are sore losers cause this has happened before.
MLGMagnesium Yeah, McCann seems to think its his job to tell everyone how to celebrate as when the braves were involved in other times, it was him as well. I wonder if he gets angry if one of his pitchers does a fist pump after a strike out?
Be honest, if you just hit your first home run in the bigs, you'd watch it as well. Man the Braves are overreacting
No, I wouldn't.
Mike no. You don't do this. It's his first home run and he's a yoing player not some veteran. Even if he was you still don't do that. You show some class and round the bases like normal
xXSIMPSXx shut the fuck up you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. First of all in Cuba and the Dominican it’s customary to bat flip and pimp your homer. It’s not viewed as a disrespect, instead they do it to show their love for the game and how appreciative they are to get the chance to play everyday. Only in stupid fucking America do we have to ruin everything thing fun about the game and make it into a white man sport. Then everyone wonders why no one gives a fuck about baseball in the USA. It’s a no fun allowed sport. Bat flip . Beamed. Watching your homer. Beamed. Trotting the bases too slow. Beamed. Looking at the pitcher after a homer. Beamed. Like jesus fucking Christ let these players have a little fun.
Nik Kaiafas look at Mike Trout, Kris Bryant an d plenty of others they hit plenty of home runs but show some class and round the bags. Yet they still have a hell of a lot of fun. Trout is always having fun in the dugout and Bryant an the Cubs have more fun than any team and yet they aren't cocky douchebags. Fernandez also spits at the bag as he's rounding 3rd which is just a stupid thing to do
A fuck you to all you fucktard baseball fans. Weak automatons.
He didn't arrive here in Tampa until he was 15, but I still considered him to be one of our own. I found out about his death in a Facebook Messenger group chat and I hadn't felt a pain that sharp for someone I didn't know. It still felt like losing a relative.
Miss Jose Fernandez
As a Braves' fan I don't think Fernandez did anything wrong or unsportsmanlike. It was the man's first home run. Let him enjoy it.
Well, he did spit in the general direction of Johnson as he rounded third... That's a little shitty.
***** Baseball unlike Football and other contact sports is all about respect. And this comes from a huge fan of contact sports.
Griffey did that when he hit home runs, and nobody complained about it, this is the second benches clearing vid I've seen with the braves, they just let their pride get to them with something as trivial as a guy hitting a home run
John Scalf That's why Gattis stared at his own shot about 45 minutes before.
That Johnson dude is a punk. Came running in like he was a badass and then hid behind the ump!😂😂😂

The illuminati is hitting hard this year
Man, watching the tribute today, and what Dee Gordon did with JF's batting helmet on... Its hard not to get a little emotional... The kid was at very least, a generational talent. He had the potential to be one of the top 10-15 all time... He had such a high ceiling. I was such a huge fan even though I'm a Royals fan, but just a fan of his talent and had him on all my fantasy leagues all three years... So sad man. He was obviously loved a lot around the league.
Camden Summers I never watched him that much due to me being a Dodgers fan and watching only the blue team but few times I watched him play he definitely had the potential to have a HOF career in the pro's I saw the tribute also and I broke down a little and the tribute made me realize that no matter what Baseball is and will always be our national sport even if Super Bowl here or NBA there but Baseball will always be #1 after seeing Jose being honored like that.
Ya, watching Dee Gordon tribute Josè and then hit his first home run, it was was such an emotional, beautiful sight. Every time I watch a video of him I just cry. Sending my prayers and condolences to José's family and friends, the Marlins organization, his teammates, and to everyone he has touched over his lifetime. I know he's sure touched me.

Miss him so much
I love you Jose!! Miss you buddy!!
So you can watch a 3 pointer go in. You can watch a field goal. But, you cant watch a home run?????
@Blake Herman he got pissed cause he watched the ball right? Every other sport you can do it. But in baseball they get pissy.
@Blake Herman Please explain the difference. I have always thought that somebody admiring their own home run or flipping a bat to be the most ridiculous things to get all bent out of shape over in any sport.
The spit at 3rd base did it dumbasses
Lol well you need to watch the basketball so you can go for the rebound if you or your teammates miss. And it's not always sure the baseball is a home run and you are usually taught to dig it out till it is confirmed so that if it isn't you get a double or triple. But I don't care if they watch. Pitchers get mouthy as well and do all that staring.
@Blake Herman What do you mean they're different sports? Isn't the object of every sport to get a home run? In any sport, excessive celebration is frowned upon, but I hardly see how watching your home run for 5 seconds or flipping a bat is anywhere approaching excessive. If anything, I would be happy if someone stood there and watched what they thought was a homerun and turned out to hit off the top of the wall, because then they only get a single instead of a double or triple. I just don't understand the mentality of getting so offended that someone watches their long ball for a few seconds or flips their bat toward the dugout. I could understand if they flipped their bat in the direction of the pitcher or they do some excessive dance the entire way around the bases, but to get in somebody's face and start a fight for watching the ball go out for 5 seconds or flipping a bat is just the most petty and butthurt thing I can think of in any pro sport.
I find it funny how Johnson runs up, but not directly towards Fernandez, runs behind the umpire... lol
Was thinking the same thing lol
If he doesn't and goes straight for the player he's ejected ;) now he stands on his teams side
maybe because he's angry but actually trying to be smart...

***** McCann conveniently forgot that Gattis stood at the plate and stared at his about an hour before.
Did you even watch the whole video? Did you not see Jose spit towards Chris? Did you not see him disrespect and watch the home run? On either of the 2 videos? Both times Brian was telling them to run, and not act like a baby.Brian had had enough of Carlos' mouth and stopped him at home. In this one Brian just walked over to him calmly and told him not to do that. Then Chris johnson ran in and that's what cleared the benches. Then again Chris only came in cause he was annoyed with Jose spit at him after watching the home run,
not_Lo0se__tOoTHe After he yelled a bunch of shit at Jose, taunting him, and Gattis stared at his home run.
The Braves do have a reputation of being whiney at times. lol
I love how Johnson immediately ran behind the ump at 3:09 when he could’ve easily walked up to Jose without an ump between. Fake tough guy for sure!
Always get a kick out of the bullpen running in. That’s a long run just to grab somebody’s shirt
Let the young man admire his first home run. Don't get mad, get better
Sirous you know he’s dead right?
He meant the pitcher should get better...
It is his first career homerun and it was a fucking blast.. give the kid a break.
Rest In Peace
Rest in piece Jose
I'm a Braves fan, but if I'm a pitcher up to bat, and you throw me a pitch that I can knock over the damn fence, I'm stopping and admiring it my damn self.
Yeah, watch it and then a nod of thanks to the pitcher for giving you that fat cheese.
Mlb is so soft. Imagine getting mad cus you looked at your homerun lmao
Abel Hernandez meanwhile pitchers screech and fist pump like 10% of the time. Obnoxious , but you don’t see Bryce Harper confronting them about it.
Kave The irony of you bringing up Bryce when he's a little dramatic cry baby himself LMAO
I think they plan these thing kinda like how at a hockey game you expect something to happen good brawls dont happen anymore though they used to be crazy drug addicts in baseball lol
HyperMous3 it’s already hard to hit a baseball why not enjoy it totally diff than standing iver someone in basketball terrible comparison buddy
@HyperMous3 Pooping while someone is listening is also difficult.
I've never seen a Marlins game that packed.
This marlins team was stacked. They were going to be a tour de force had Fernandez not passed away. It would've been fun to watch this team with Fernandez as the ace, yelich, Ozuna, and Stanton among others who I can't remember off the bat.
Life ain't fair sometimes man.
Did anyone else notice the dude who got nailed in the head trying to catch that homer? XD
I'm dying now😂
I didn't notice until you mentioned it. I thought it bounced off his hands. Guess not. Lmao
+IMRP OMG what a hit!
+SBERTOL84 you need to take a physics class
Evan Almighty Already am. Thermodynamics, Electricity, and Magnetism.
Give the kid a break. It's his first home run.
Rest In Peace, king :(
I remember watching a game where Jose was pitching and Freddie Freeman on the Braves team was having a great game against him and all Jose did was give him all the credit for his accomplishments while he was on the pitching mound. He just admired the game in general. He didn't deserve the treatment he got in this video because this is the way that a 20 year old behaves for the most part. Even though I am a Braves fan, I enjoyed watching this guy play and no telling how great this player would be now if he was given the chance. He was good for baseball.
Gone way too soon. RIP.
For real man rip!!! Life is crazy brother !
RIP Buddy
When I hit homers I like to watch them too. Isn't that half the Fun? He is a pitcher so he doesn't get very at bats in a season let alone a homer run. So let him watch for a second Jeez...They should change the Unwritten Rule: You get to watch, only if after you full sprint to home when it lands.
Was
It’s unsportsmanlike period no matter who you are. This isn’t the little league World Series it’s the MLB have some goddamn class and respect for the game. He acted like a child so he got talked to like a child.
I liked the way he looked at it.
Miss u Jose Fernandez
RIP buddy 🙏
Okay guys can someone explain this to me? I've been watching baseball since I was 6 (1995) and I don't get it. They're mad at him for admiring his first big league home run? How is that disrespectful? If he had given the pitcher a dirty look after maybe then but that was HIS accomplishment as much as it was their mistake.
its kinda showing off but its not that big off a deal
The hitter and the pitcher were exchanging words all night, and him admiring his home run was the last straw for him.
It's considered classless.
OK but I've seen so many people, sluggers and non-sluggers do it. I just don't get it.
The sluggers and non sluggers are classless. I get that it's his first but you should A. Know as a rookie you don't pull that shit because people are looking for you to do it, and B. Act like you've been there before. Braves acted classless as well in this instance they should've done nothing and plunked him the next time.
If I was in the MLB I'd watch every homer knowing I'd get a free on base the next time I was up
😂
Till they start headhunting and you're a vegetable
@@brandondirocco9816 a homer, free base and the pitcher gets ejected? Sounds like a win/win/win to me.
Haha yes
You wouldn't..... Your boy on deck would get that free base...
McCann always in the middle of guys watching their HRs lol
RIP man
Nothing wrong with this at all. Fernandez just hit his first homerun of his career and watches it a little bit. HES A PITCHER, not a hitter, homeruns dont come around very often. Even as he is face to face with McCann there isnt any rising conflict. The only reason this was even an issue was because 3B is a hot head and made things escalate. Even after the benches clear, Fernandez walks toward the dugout and doesnt confront with anyone. An appropriate and mature thing to do. If you want to see immaturity watch Jose Bautista or Carlos Gomez. This was not immature as the announcers said. Ultimately what it comes down to is "Dont get mad, get better".
He was actually a pretty good hitter for a pitcher. Could be top 10 in that category. RIP Jose
Fly high Jose 😔 😇
Johnsons so tough running in from 3rd base straight line directly behind the ump, nice job tough guy
