Just for reference, the far West rwy 36L/18R is used solely for arrivals. 36/18C is used mostly for departures but will have arrivals every now and then. 36R/18L used used for arrivals and departures
Great stuff! I live in CLT half the time (rest is SF), and I did prefer the old overlook to the new one. The new is pretty much a kids playground and further away from 18/36C, but I guess it serves a purpose. I know CLT gave you some extra interest today, but give the Sullenberger aviation museum a call next time you’ll be here and see if you can broadcast from out the back of there and show folk around the new museum live. I think it’ll be a good advert for them as they just opened 6 weeks ago or so. Am a member there and they have the Hudson US Air A320 and some other cool stuff and it’s right at the north end of 36R. They’re popular too but am sure they’d work with you. All the heavies land on that runway - a LH A350, the AA triples, cargo 767/757s, military. They also depart on the center runway. 36L/18R where you were isn’t used for heavies at all probably because heavies all use the D gates and cargo and the national guard is next to 18L/36R. Hope this helps and great stream!

It went to Greenville Spartanburg about 60 miles away and came back again later. Was scheduled into CLT at 1704 and eventually landed 2137. It happens here in the summer quite often due to wx. Raleigh is another alternate too, but that 737 did GSP eventually got back.
