Three of the initial members of Awesome 3 (Nick Hussey, Pete Orme and the original vocalist Julie McDermott) have joined forces once again - adding Gerd Janson's subtle magic - the original has seen countless versions and remixes since the 90’s, but Gerd's 2018 re-work increases its firepower, adds beat stomping bass lines to compliment Julie McDermott's soulful vocals creating an essential radio and dance-floor weapon."

I'm curious . . . how come this is listed purely as a Jule McDermott track, with no mention of Awesome 3 at all? I know she did the vocals on the original, but still - you'd think the creators of the old rave track would have at least some production/writing credit here, huh?
She maybe owns the writing/publishing rights on the original

The piano used in the original in 92 remains a mystery untill this day still, how it sounds that way, some say korg M1 voice house piano, others say it was sampled chords into yamaha or Roland, that's probably why they kept it in this rework, you need the original piano vibe for this track, no other piano works, similar track is Strike U Sure Do Guest List mix in 94 , sounds like m1, but was it? What's clear tho if you compared today's house to then, the producers in 90s had lot more skill in making great sounds
Sounds like the M1 piano with some chorus on top to be fair. Bear in mind the sampling quality (8/12 bit) back then as well in a lot of cases which adds a certain 'something' to the sound as well as does the hardware sampling it :)
@@MrYazbo I think it's Yamaha mate and sample based, no way m1 present, I use to know producer back then called The Scientist on Kickin Records, he had all the synths and this one

Yeah I couldn't believe it when I heard it's radio 1s track of the week, I was glad it was on the radio, but when I looked at who it was I was like 'wtf', some bastards taking credit for doing sweet FA! Awesome 3 should've just re-released it
I’m pretty sure Pete Tong used to refuse to play anything breakbeat back in the early 90s? Am I wrong??? Pretty ironic he’s now playing this type of stuff if so.

Rework...... It's the original 92 version with some extra kick drums & an annoying high string towards the end....... There's doing a remix which respects the original, and then there are things like this.
