Madaari's ending literally made me cry. And Rocky Handsome is one hell of a movie in terms of action and storyline.Bhavesh Joshi ke paas toh cinematic universe start karne ka potential tha. Baaki saari movies bhi iss list mein superb hai. The reason why we love revenge movies is because jab end mein main protagonist apne revenge lene mein successful ho jaata hai tab audiences ke kaleje ko bhi thandak milti hai
Haven't seen Madari, but the other 2 you mentioned.. they were seriously awesome. Bhavesh Joshi is criminally underrated. Rocky Handsome was really an intense revenge movie..

Honorary mention: Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam starrer KAABIL.
I know it was not really a path-breaking film, but I wish this to be on the list because of Hrithik and Yami's brilliant performances. It is definitely Hrithik's underrated role as the main lead, because he has always been stereotyped for his typical roles which primarily had different dance moves in his songs(though I love his dancing) but for his acting, but in Kaabil he really worked hard on his craft, in which he didn't even had his trademark dance number.

Srk & Madhuri's Anjaam that was one of the darkest revenge movie... Srk's character tortured madhuri killed her son & Husband... And the revenge she got was totally unexpected.. That was too dark

Anjaam probably was a little too ahead of it's time. It was gory as well as saddening at the same time. Khoon Bhari Maang is a fantastic revenge drama having female centric plot.

Badlapur is one of those rare films which comes out once every decade. It's the Best performance of Varun and Nawaz Bhai. Hopefully we'll be able to see more Varun in these roles because I truly believe that this is his genre in a way. I haven't seen any actor's performance which is so powerful and leaves an everlasting impact on your persona.

KARAN ARJUN... in my opinion is the best revenge drama in Indian cinema .... As it's concept of reincarnation of two brothers was ahead of it's time... & Action was Raw & entertaining..... Along with Gripping screenplay, story & Plot ... With FANTABULOUS direction of Rakesh Roshan... Performances were top notch of Salman Khan & Shahrukh Khan in main lead with Kajol & mamta Kulkarni... & Shri late Amrish Puri ji was awesome. Other supporting cast was good which includes Johnny lever, Asif Sheikh etc. & Film was a certified BLOCKBUSTER In 1995.. & is considered as a cult classic in filmography of both Salman Khan & SRK as well as in Indian cinema.

Hey.. Kaabil was also a great revenge movie.. the way Hritik Roshan played the role of a blind was amazing. Also the antagonist played by Ronit Roy was commendable. Shoulda include that one too in the list .. but the mentioned ones are also good

Sholay is always the goat and no one can replace it, I don't k if nowadays audience remembers this film or not but I'm sure that it has it's own cult following. It is a must watch for everyone.

Honestly speaking Yeh Saali Aashqiue, Baazigar, Ek hasina thi and gangs of wasserpur are great movies. These 4 movies are ahead of its time. Yeh Saali Aashqiue is a good movie it could have been better than this if it has focuses more on male character and revenge point of view rather than the love story or punchment angle otherwise it's a good movie. Baazigar and ek hasina thi are great movies and you can call them perfect movies because whenever we watch them they always entertain us so we don't have any words describe them great movies both. Gangs of wasserpur is a great movie in terms of its revenge plot, its real action, its writing,its characters and its performances all in one are great excuted and it's a great movie. But I only constan is that gangs of wasserpur is not a family friendly movie because of its nature and its abusive language otherwise you can watch movie recommend from my side.
