Hi Laura! Well done for this video, it's very good. I have a question: why can't I understand the dialogues of those scenes? When you speak normally I can understand everything. Do you have some tips to improve my listening skills?
Brummy is a really hard accent to master. Don´t be sag if you don´t get it on the first run. I was told even most americans watch Peaky Blinders with subtitle because they don´t get the brummy.
@@VegaLupina thanks a lot! I am trying to watch movies without subtitles. I can understand 70% of the dialogues but I'd like to improve my listening skills. Do you have any tips? I am waiting for the answer of the teacher too, it can be useful to everyone :)
@@marco_spallino I personally find it very useful to rewatch. By that I mean not just watching a film or series more than once but also stopping scenes and watching them back. If necessary with subtitles or in your mother tongue or sometimes both.
May I ask what your first language is?
@@VegaLupina I'm Italian and you? I'm doing the same, when I don't understand, I usually stop those scenes and I try to watch them again. It sometimes helps.
@@marco_spallino I´m german. I usually rewatch scenes in english, german and french to get the different intonations. After doing that for some time and getting to know the involved characters with their distinct speaking patterns you´ll need less and less subtitles.
