    This might sound crazy but have you ever thought of waxing off the area you shave? For a smooth transition, it might be less of a bother.

    I’m a stylist and I specialize in women’s hair loss but no scalp bonding. I’m getting into men’s systems now so I’m watching lots of videos, I’m overwhelmed with all the bonding products, what to use with what type of base, etc., so thank you for sharing your experiences, lots to learn from real world stuff. Anywho, I’m familiar with the c-22 stuff and as soon as you started talking about using tape on a thin skin I knew you had to use something oil based and my first thought after you revealed you use the c-22 was; are you able to get all the c-22 residue off so that doesn’t interfere when you re-bond it? You said it was an experiment so would you do it again that way? Also it seems like it would be more difficult to use tape at the hairline with such a thin fragile piece because wouldn’t you have to line up the edges EXACTLY so you don’t have any part of tape beyond the edge of the piece? As opposed to using a glue where you can wipe away excess. Seriously though, these kinds of videos you do are golden for other DIY men.

    No hair system will ever flush for long time even when done by professionals. The hair will be always lifting especially the front line , so it needs attention every week or so. The sides and back do always feel more secure compared to the front , but there is no product nor maintenance that will make the hair system 100% flushed . the scalp and hair are always secreting oil , beside humidity and activity factors , perspiration that will stress down any tape .

    I bonded a thin skin poly. The bond loosened after a week. I washed it and will try the tape. Your right it does look the best. I have been using french lace. Will try the swiss lace next.

    If you're cool with ordering a custom system, you can order a skin system in the first 2 inches +/- with swiss lace for the rest of it. I'm pretty sure toplace will do this. Maybe ask John.

      I haven't worn the unit out yet. Thats really going to be the test honestly. I want to see how long I can make this last for. At that point probably back to swiss. Only thing is the poly hairline is great BUT if you put it on a swiss lace the unit is only as good as its weakest link. So when the poly fails the unit is trash. That sucks

    Do you still use tape with a thin skin system or was this a one-time experiment? I’m getting my first hair system soon, and I’m really leaning towards getting a thin skin because of the invisible hairline, but I also would feel more comfortable using mostly tape (at least as a beginner). This video was very interesting because you seemed to successfully manage both. Is this do-able long-term, or should I stick to either lace&tape or poly&glue?

    Hi Curtis. Always great to see your videos. I use skin systems, but how can you keep the hair movement for a significant time? Tried everything, but nothing seems to work. Is there a way to keep the flowing hair, the elasticity and movement like the first day? It seems I destroy them too fast. Some friends said I comb way too much. I tried with cream and oils (Elvive), but the effect doesn’t last. Thank you very much.

    • @HairExperience

    When watching other people put their thin skin system on. They shave their hair, so it's just the scalp on show. The guy in this video well has stubble patches on top of his head. So maybe the system isn't actually sticking to the scalp.. but rather the stubble bits. Maybe that's why he himself is having trouble with bonding glue. Shaving the top of the head has to be a perfect sharp line that measures corrrrectly between hair and scalp, so getting a barber or a specialised men hair dressers. Would keep the system in place longer than trying to do them on yourself..

    Curtis, thanks for your videos. Always helpful and informative.
    I'm a woman who wears a 5x6 hair topper. My go to has been a silk top with a poly border and I've used walkers ultra hold tape on top of the redliner tape. That lasts about a week for me and I'm OK with that since my hair is so long I never wash my hair system on my head. I just ordered my first thin skin. Now I'm freaking out a little though that the Walkers Ultra hold isnt going to work with it. #1 it's a very thick tape. #2 I'm scared I might damage the thin skin.
    Can you recommend any other tapes that I could use on the thin skin? I really want to avoid a liquid adhesive if I can. (ghost bond doesn't work for me)
    Thanks

      HairExperience most people think that they can get the hair they want with one HT ! You may need more thank 2 HTs depending on the level of baldness. HTs are cheap nowadays and more convenient than wearing a wig. You can do it in Turkey or India both are cheap but you need to do some research and read some reviews before. I have had 2 HTs one in India and the other in Turkey. I honestly prefer India. I can show you the result of my first HT if you are considering to have one.

      YOUSEF - cuz transplants can destroy your head and cost fortunes. Ultimately they don't work long term for a vast majority of guys. And they are way too expensive. Simple answer.

    • @yousefalkhudair4420
      @yousefalkhudair4420 Před 6 lety

      Matt Markus one hair transplant is cheaper than Iphone x. Just choose the best available doctor the offers a convenient price.

    • @mattmarkus4868
      @mattmarkus4868 Před 6 lety +2

      Oh yeah? From where, Transplants-R-Us ? The dude in your video is going to look like shit in 20 years, as the rest of his hair thins to a fine wisp. His transplants will turn wispy too but behind them will be baby ass BALD. So he'll probably end up getting like 4 more procedures along the way and end up with thousands of dots like a fishing net around his entire donor area, and in the end it'll end up being worse than if he hadn't done it at all. At that point, he won't even be able to pull off the haircut Curtis has with a hairpiece cuz of the fishnet. He'll have to go much longer.
      Also.. about 99.x% of people who get transplants for $1,000 USD will NOT get that result either. I'm just warning any would-be-fools who read this nonsense. Whoever did that video took the best example they could find right now (if it's even their work). What about all the people who had disappointing results from Dr. Bhatti? Some of them don't even know it yet.
      I cannot stress enough to young guys to be very careful. You will say "Oh I won't care when I'm 50". Bullshit, you'll care, you'll care as much as you do now. At least with the non-surgical route, no one is cutting or punching into your nice and natural scalp. You know how deep they go in to get the graft? If I had a son I would implore him not to go down this treacherous road.
      Trust me, you're out of your depth here on transplants. For 80%+ of guys that get it done, especially from some dirt cheap offshore place, it is NOT worth it on balance. And the risks are too high. It's not that you just might not get your money's worth, you will have irreversible scarring and it could be bad. You can't even put a price on the cost of that.
      Lastly, why you got a baseball cap on in your pic?
