Such a beautiful car.....and RIP Bob Hope
I went with a friend and his father to a new car dealer in 1958 or so. There in the showroom was one of these black with stainless roof. I thought it was the most beautiful car I ever saw. My eyes popped, and my mouth fell open. In my minds memory I can see it still today. Jack Wrather, of Wrather Broadcasting owned one too. You can google him if you don't know who he was.
The Eldorado Brougham was / is one of the most beautiful Caddies ever, ever built.
That's when a Cadillac was top dog in the game.
I grew up in a town of 1200 people in rural Indiana. I remember as a 13 year old boy discovering a light Rose colored Eldorado with a very unusual roof sitting outside the local Doctor's office. Turns out he had purchased it. I finally caught him driving it through town one day and flagged him down. He explained the Stainless Steel roof to me and also was kind enough to give me a tour of the car. He was VERY proud of it, understandably, I envied him for years.
If they made that car today they couldn't make enough of them . This is pure class
Absolutely stunning. One of my favorite American classics of all time. Thanks for the great information Peter.
Bob Hope owning it makes it gold.
A true example of a concept GM car going above and beyond!
Now THAT... Is a Cadillac people...
My father drove nothing but cadillacs.. brings back wonderful memories.
The most beautiful Cadillac of all-time, IMO!!
Gosh, what a
Wow! What a beast. Had no idea so few were made. Must get gallons per mile. Oh, to only own one.
One of my dream cars. Lighter colors really show off the front fender treatment.
I've watched every episode of your tv show at least twice.
Bob had good taste.what a machine.very elegant.
Incredible car. A piece of art.
This was not the first year for Cadillac headlight auto-dimming which was actually a few years earlier but, the wall to wall mouton carpet was freaking amazing!!!
I never knew that these Caddie’s were hand built back in ‘57. Pretty nice.
