      Also in my opinion the way Bale potrayed Connor at least physically was impressive... trained soldier, leader, resourceful, brave and he looked badass. You see him in danger when he comes face to face with a robot except at the end where he conveniently gets thrown around instead of the Termi ator bashing his head in but in the rest of the movie, I was impressed. Even the scene in water when surrounded by hydrobots I felt was great. The plot and his arc may not have been impressive but

It may be weird since kyle is younger than John but tbh, I think it's cute and sad at the same time because Kyle will never find out that John is his son, only John and Sarah knows. The T-800 had a grip on John Connor 4 or 5 times already. With it's grip strength alone, the T-800 could've easily killed John.
      But what does a well programmed machine does... it just throws him around. Then again, if this were real, those throws could easily paralyze or even kill someone.

      I disagree. I feel when you watch the movie, it's kinda obvious he's a Terminator. I mean, he was executed in 2003, on a slab and unresponsive in a Skynet War Camp, wakes up in 2018 with no knowledge of the war or Skynet and hasn't aged a day. What other conclusion could you come to with all that evidence? The real question is why no one questions that he doesn't know anything about the 15 year long war, feel like someone should've asked "where you been the last 15 years." On the same subject, Connor tells Marcus that Kyle Reese is his father, yet Marcus doesn't question that, since Kyle Reese is younger than Connor.
      They had the right idea, I think what they should've done was had him be an infiltrator, but he was built so much like a human he bought his own cover and forgot his programming, which was to kill Connor.

I like the concept of Skynet working so hard to make a robot that could pass for a human, that it thought it was human and couldn't betray the human race even though he's not human. It reminds me of a Batman cartoon where a computer similar to Skynet tried to replace humans with robots, and it made one of Batman, but the Batman robot was so much like Batman, it couldn't violate Batman's ethics, such as take a life or grasp the concept that he's not human. So when it had a chance to fulfill its creator's objective to take over the world, it betrayed its creator and sacrificed itself to stop it.

All they did was rename Skynet to Legion (very generic name), replace Kyle Reese with Grace, replace John Connor with Dani Ramos while giving supporting roles to Linda and Arnold just so they could draw in some extra ticket sales, which at the moment looks like it didnt even work since it bombed at the box office, look it up.

      @@HeyIntegrity There is a current trend in Hollywood where gender, racial & identity politics are being injected into in the industry. The main characters of already established franchises are being replaced by people of a different race, gender or sexuality just for the sake of it. Those are the factors that are being prioritized now when hiring a cast, when really the main priority should be looking at if the individual is qualified and if they can actually perform and act well. We're all for the promotion of equal opportunities, but FORCED equality and FORCED diversity is a big no no. To add, these 'reboots' and 'remakes' have suffered in quality in comparison to their previous editions, which is the main reason why a lot of the audience are bothered. There isn't an issue with a person of a different identity being the lead in a movie or TV show, as long as it's ORIGINAL, well directed, well produced and well performed.

      Salvation is a proper T-3 continuation imo. It gives us the resistance leader in the making, John Connor, instead of the same shitty time traveling plotline. It finally showed us the war that they were trying to prevent and everything else. The meeting of his father and so and so forth.

    3:03 gets me every time. Even before joining the resistance, Kyle idolised John Connor from hearing his broadcasts and his knowledge of Skynet and the machines. Determined to find him and help in the resistance.
    That impact of refusing to leave the man who saved him, asking who this man was, who was willing to stay behind and get him to safety, only to find out it was John Connor himself. The man he idolised and sought to find.

    The t800 should kill Connor, but instead throws it, pushes it, grabs it, and waits for something. These little things distinguish quality production from clichéd. Despite this, T4 is still a pretty good movie that does not parasitize on time travel.

    • @Paar86
      @Paar86 Před 4 lety +7

      Yeah, that annoys me too. Even if I have to admit seeing flying Connor looks cool, it's only for effect. In reality T-800 would kill John the first time it lays it's hand on him. The other thing that annoys me is the growling sounds T-800 produces. Gets old pretty quickly. Other that that I dig the aesthetics of the film. Especially in this scene it looks pretty close to T2 visually.

    love how Salvation perfectly continues the whole time paradox/closed time loop thing that T1 and 2 did so well, where events from the past, present and future only happen because certain events from he past, present and future already happened and keep repeating. John only exists because of Kyle and because the events of T1 and 2 already happened ad so on.

    Gotta give this movie credit for being fresh. There's really not a lot of ways to tell a terminator story from a different angle, but making one without time travel that shows the resistance's origin feels like the clear next step. The other sequels after T2 didn't even try.
