The corporate higher-ups may be killing this game... but the people who are actually working on it, clearly have so much love for the world they have made.
This. It's obvious that the people actually working on the game, especially the artists, love what they're making.
It's really unfortunate how much the ip gets screwed over by terrible management.
But doesn't this vision of an Optimistic Future inspire you to spend +20 dollars on a virtual costume?
Yeah, when you think about it, Overwatch could've been something great if the higher ups weren't such dipshits.
Really goes to show how much potential was wasted on a game that actually used to have a chance.

Well that's what I've always thought about Sigma. He knows more that he lets on and is less insane than he seems though he is certainly tormented by unseen demons. His doddering old fool act strikes me as a mask. I'm surprised even sharp minds like Moira and Zen seem to write him off.
The fact that she’s sentient and saw all those little arms surrounding her face to take her apart REALLY HIT. She must have been so scared, but she accepted the sacrifice she was making. I’m not crying, YOU ARE.

Honestly, most of it’s not even ‘new’ info. All 3 of these videos are just brand new stuffing in skeleton that’s a few years old.
There is an Overwatch short story about a meeting between Symmetra and Zenyatta that provides a lot of the basic plot points of Auorora’s story which was released back in 2020.
Is it getting told? I feel like the writers are stuck on fleshing out the omnic crises, and dont seem to care about whats happening in the new overwatch.
So Arora is the iris which is pretty cool because that means Sigma's voice line to Zenyatta where he says he has met the iris could actually be true.

The Iris is a where Aurora went, according to the Shambali Omnics. It's like Nirvana.

Echo is not sentient like Aurora or other omnics since she was created AFTER the awakening. Because she couldn't be given sentience, she has a really powerful IA instead which her creator hopes to reach sentience one day
@@ianmendoza2332Not necessarily! While it's plausible that Echo is just mimicking sentience using her knowledge of what sentience is, it's very possible that Liao and her team succeeded in creating another sentient Omnic like Aurora. We can't know for sure until the devs confirm or deny it.

It’s such a shame corporate greed is killing this game you can tell that the devs, VAs etc. have put so much love into it.
This deal with aurora wasn’t only foreshadowed by sigma, but also by rammatra in his interaction with echo. Echo asks ram what he would have asked aurora and he said he spends with “same thing I *ask* every day. I wish she could answer”.
Please, for the love of the Iris make more story like this. This had a message, and purpose of existing. Lore like this could safe the game.

After seeing the color transformation and the meaning between blue and red with omnics, I feel really amazed with the color design of Ramatra. I mixture of red and blue = purple! Once again amazing hero design by the ow team!!!!

I already loved Aurora from all the lore I've read about her, but these shorts made me respect her much more. Amazing character. The overwatch writing team is doing an amazing job as always.

For how much fear they instilled in humanity, the Bastion and R-7000 units were nearly completely eradicated.

I’m pretty sure Bastion woke up around the Overwatch recall. Like how we see him in the animated short.

Can we just have a 200 episodes anime? I love how instead of the regular plots hollywood loves to pull that they attack the AI n suddenly they all love humna, they go with giving the robots a choice, freedom of thinking. Some of them still choose to fight human. This is next level story telling.
it's allright it may seem good to mulitplayer people and do doubt they tell this story beautifully i have seen far better plots in halo's lore even in the side games they had better plots but then again halo has dedicated campaigns which overwatch lacks so i will give them the benefit of the doubt
I'd say get the writers and animators from Arcane to lend a hand, put their skill into this story and it would be epic.

these three shorts are amazing, the story telling, the lore, the feels, everything about this was amazing
So many developers, writers, artists and more on the OW team show me why I enjoy this game so much. They love the game, and want us to love it too. The problems that occurred are much deeper than “they chose not to do PvE this way” or “they just attention” with higher ups and trickling down to hiring people, deadlines, resources etc.
Blizzard as a company? Has and continues to make bad choices for their workers and consumers. But the OW team?
I have faith that they are trying for us

The fact that Aurora gave all Omnics sentience makes the knowledge that Ramattra is basically a Anubis-controlled Omnic based on his ideals, yet is still self-aware and sentient, makes him even more terrifying than he already was
He made his choice
I’d say that Ramattra is more of a radical extremist than anything, because he did go to Nepal and he was a monk but it wasn’t until some riots almost killed Zenyata that he chose to give up on peace and fight back. His lore is some of the best in the game tbh
He has voicelines with phara where its clear he hates anubis and thinks it should be destroyed
He is not controlled by Anubis, he just hates how humans are.

talk about writing to inspire, literally had tears coming out with Auroras sacrifice and her last message! Amazing work.
This specific episode really reminds me of the ramattra and pharaoh interaction, where he tells her she should’ve killed Anubis when she had the chance. It’s not about the ideals, but the choice, and even if Ramattra continues to fight humans with Null Sector, it’s his choice to do so.
Finally they are taking the right direction, literally, 70% of the fanbase of Overwatch is here for Lore. The Story has soooo much potential to be something bigger.
What no lol the lore was extremely shallow, it's finally starting to pick up pace now. But the fanbase was made on the gameplay

@@serendipity4346 yes there was potential, but nothing more than some vaguely connected shorts. Too far apart both time between release wise and connection wise. I know there are comics and stuff, but for the average player that's too much to get into. I think if you ask the average overwatch player if they know what the lore is about, they won't get further than the basics. I guess I can see how the lore is interesting when you look into it, but I feel like not enough effort was put into it for the general playerbase to care much about it, let alone be the reason they play the game
Glad it took them nearly 5 years to reach this point. Can't wait to see what all this development time gives us.

Assuming all hands on deck and the full warchest backing of ABK, it will give us another 20 minutes of pieced up shorts by summer 2028.
But this incredibly lofty goal is only achievable if we keep buying shop skins.
Overwatch needs to slow down with all these releases. This short was almost 7 minutes long! They keep pushing the envelope and I’m worried about burn out.
3:57-3:59 I think is important detail that some omnics RIGHT AFTER the Aweking choose to kill humans. This adds another layer of nuance to the human-omnic relationship issues.

I almost cried at this short and immediatly liked this was the most heartfelt one ive felt since the bastion cinematic in a while props to the animators and VA !

I like that it showed in it that after they all became sentient that the only ones still fighting the humans were the warmongers or whatever rammatra units are because they where built for war so they still fought and you know we saw that some bastion units where fight aswell

I still have qualms about the company and direction they are forcing on people but thank you for this.

the love shared between Aurora and Dr.Mina Liao was truly something beautiful that the story writing team portrayed.
Got chills at the moment of the Awakening. Wasn't expecting to, but a war being put on pause for moment as all the combatants have second thoughts is really cool.

this series confirms me a little more in the idea that a PvE game mode would have been exceptional for the overwatch license. There is so much Lore, history, characters, places, I wish I could experience them all through my own hands.
