- Hey guys!
On the morning of Friday, October 16th my buddy Clint and I set out to break the unsupported fastest known time on this 31-mile loop trail. After we set the FKT we put our packs on and went back out to hike the loop a second time and meet back up with two other members of our group who were already on the trail. This is the video of the second loop of the beautiful Sioux Hustler Trail located in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota.

Man, hell of video. The hike was just beautiful. Fantastic product all around.
The music was spot on for this, imo.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Mark!
Merry Christmas Juice. Thanks for helping me get through 2020 with my serenity intact. I learned a lot from your videos and can't thank you enough. God bless you and your family. Let's hope for a better 2021!💪👍
Merry Christmas! I appreciate you tuning in, here's to hoping 2021 is a fantastic year for us all!
I'm planning a hike here next year. Nice to see these BWCA trails getting some love.
The BWCA is a truly special place!
Wow - well done. Great footage 😎
Thanks for watching!
Great video! Love seeing those beautiful landscapes in the winter time. Like how you made two videos one for the FKT and the other one for us so we can see the landscapes and just the trail in general. Love the music and showing you in the hammock that it is something that you don't need a chair at the campsite and you can eat right out of your hammock and stay warm. Also loved the part about packing up that how fast it could go and where everything goes. Hike on!
Mad props for setting the FKT and then heading back out on the trail for a second time to enjoy it with friends and film it for us. Love when people are able to backpack out in the snow and film it. Just makes the whole video so interesting to view because of the winter landscapes.
Thanks for watching! The cold weather made it tough but you're right, winter landscapes are amazing and worth the extra effort!
Was up for youth hunting with my son at Togo then, but we bailed on Friday. They were supposed to get 5" in the area we were at, so we weren't too excited about that.
Oh man, we didn't get 5 inches but the snow definitely made it things more challenging but super pretty!
Just came across your channel, very interesting content. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Great video ✌️
Thanks!
I love it!! Nicely done sir!! I am going to attempt the Slowest Known Time on this trail next Spring or Fall!!
Thanks! It's a really great trail to try the slowest known time on!
Beautiful video!
Thanks Danny! The sweet hammock setup definitely made the cold weather easier to enjoy!
I thought I recognized that hammock Danny!!
09:42 - Da Bulleit Juice at di end of di day, oh yeah.
How does the shake dry deal with the cold weather? Do you fit many layers underneath it? Also do you suspect it will last long with back packing? Great vids - really like choice in music too
Thanks for tuning in! It has done really well in cold weather and have used it quite a few times in the snow. I can fit it over my OR sun hoodie and my Patagonia R1 for layering. I've been using it constantly for about a year and a half and it's holding up really well with no issues.
Great video! Never been snow backpacking before- how do you keep your feet warm and dry without boots?
What was the foil covered thing you set oatmeal packets in?
I’m glad you guys had some bourbon and a nice fire!
Thanks Amy! Backpacking in the snow is tons of fun. I was just using regular trail runners so my feet were pretty wet most of the time. As long as you are moving your feet stay warm even when they are wet. The key is to have dry socks and potentially another pair of shoes or boots you can change into when you get to camp. The foil was a DIY pot cozy that I made with Reflectix which you can pick up at pretty much any hardware store. There are quite a few videos on CZcams on how to make them (they are super cheap).
nice vid. i love using the osmo pocket on my hikes too. debating about the new pocket 2, but havent been persuaded as this one works great. what are your thoughts?
Thanks! It's pretty good but to be honest instead of the Pocket 2 I'm considering upgrading to a proper frameless camera. The footage from the BWCA could have been a lot better. That being said, the Osmo 2 looks to be a pretty solid upgrade over the original!
On your superior hammock, did you get the 10 or 11ft?
I tested a 10 ft but just received my 11 ft. I'm 6'1 and I like the length on an 11 ft.
@@juicehikes5436 did you go with a 30 or 15?
@@cesmit2652 Danny's ratings are super conservative. I took his 30 degree hammock below 20 degrees and was super warm all night. I actually went with a 45 degree rated version that may be available soon!
@@juicehikes5436 thank you- made my decision of the 15 degree easier!
Hello, would you want to review our Truck Bed Tent?
I don't own a truck so I'm not sure how that would work.
@@juicehikes5436 Thanks for your reply. Is there any way we could start a relationship and work together in the future? We do have many products related to camping and bike, which are still on the plans for social advertising.
