Kathy is leaving because she have had enough of Phil's abusive behaviour towards her and so she decided to leave to South Africa with her baby son, Ben. This was aired on the Wednesday, 6th May 1998.

I may not have been existed at the time when the episode came out that very year but I can admit this scene feels beautiful in my eyes and yet, I love this scene. This was aired on the Wednesday, 6th May 1998. Before asking, Kathy is leaving because she have had enough of Phil's abusive behaviour towards her because of his drinking problems and so she decided to leave him, to go to South Africa with her baby son, Ben. Yet, Kathy came back next year after that year but she then leaves again in 2000 until she was supposedly be killed off in 2006 but she turns out to be alive the whole time since Phil found out in 2012 but Kathy came back again, permanently on the show since 2015.
