Wow I've been watching modern family clips and they're like the later seasons so I'm not as attached or whatever but this is why I fell in love with this show when I first saw it. The writing is so sharp and smart and you really believe in these characters and their connections and you barley notice that you're laughing while feeling these deeply intimate moments of accepting and learning to lean into understanding and challenging your own beliefs to understand why you might not always be the one who knows best.
Yeah I think that's the joke though, people can relate to it see their own mother in her and laugh it off. But im sure she's written like that on purpose
