- Time for a winter warm-up! Making Pasta e Fagioli the traditional way, with dried beans, takes about 3 hours to cook. This delicious version is made in just 30 minutes. The beans used here are canned, cooked beans, and you can either pass all the beans through a food mill or leave half of them whole to create more texture in the soup. LOVE this recipe! Very easy, inexpensive, and delicious! The soup itself is very hearty and packs the delicious rosemary flavors. I've been watching Lidia's cooking show since I was a young kid and still love her recipes!
In my opinion pasta and beans is the perfect midday lunch to have, ever since I was a little child my Mother made this for our family, I would even eat it cold out of the refrigerator.....

These are the same ingredients that my Italian mother-in-law used for her pasta fagioli except she used the dried beans. Love this recipe!
