You should make a video showing your whole collection of models
im am so glad these old MPC kits are coming back out, i was wondering about 10 years ago if some company would get these old molds and start re-issueing them again, i guess my whish came true i recently bought the 68 Coronet Convertable and im waiting to get the hardtop version, plus i want that new 1971 Demon kit. i found your channel about a month ago and love it, it is the best model channel on youtube, thanks ps keep them coming. oh ya im in Canada so it takes longer than you Americans to get these kits.
Thank you for posting this. My first vehicle was a 85 Power Wagon W250. It sat in a field for 15 yrs before I came across it. So many memories getting it running , and it breaking down. I picked one of these kits up , and even thought the grills are different, I'm still painting it in memory of my 85.
I managed to find a stepside d100 at a car show, paid $15 for it and made it into Steve Dulcich's mopar muscle truck
Cool!
@@hpiguy can you make a video of all the models you have made
This guy is super cool how he puts a little story behind the truck and mini bike for his son
Thanks for spending some of your day with us at the Workshop and leaving a nice comment!
If you haven't already, come join the fun on Facebook at hpiguys Workshop
I love the interior color perfect for blending in all the coffee spilled!!!!!!!
Right?!
I love these trucks my dad had a orange 79 power wagon long bed with a 360 in it when I was a kid we used it to hall scrap metal and fire wood and go 4 wheeling It had no lift I’m in my 20s I haven’t spoke with my father in a long time we don’t really get along anymore but I think he still has that old truck good times
thx for taking us along on your bench work!
i really like the subtle evolving of your channel. ive been watching you for a couple years now. slipping in the remark at the end
about the powerwagon was spot on !
i hope the kats @ round2 let that one soak in for a few! that build looks like it would be from the same construction crew from the gear hustler el camino you built last year
Thanks, I agree, hope we get to see more Dodge's from this mold!
Bought a 1976 Dodge new 318 silver long bed black int white rims , l think it had a black plastic gas tank brought back good memories , paid 4,444.00 including license and taxes out the door those were the day's thanks for sharing your build great job
Thanks a lot Francis!
I bought my 1500 new 14 years ago... still running strong. Great build . Thanks.
Thank you!
Dude, Chris, awesome build!!! Nice job with the weathering!
Thanks Buckner!
That truck looks so incredible, your weathering techniques and imagination to come up with all those little details nail it every time.
Thanks a lot!
Excellent build Chris, love your touch making it a well used truck.
Thank you Dennis!
Wow! Chris, great build. I really like how you got the rust in all the right places. Nice realistic build.
Thank you Shannon!
WOW Chris, you really out did yourself on this build/review. This well worn work truck is spot on!! EXCELLENT build and presentation on this one.
Thank you Ron!
Great review as always Chris. Truck turned out sweet. Thanks for doing these reviews on the new kits. Cant wait for the next one
Thank you!
I love the imagination you have
Thanks!
Always like when they have all the extra little accessories in these kits. Thanks for great build again. You made it so interesting, not just another truck.
Thanks!
Had a mini-bike just like that when I was a kid!
Man that thing turned out GREAT! :D Really enjoyed watching this one (as always), love the way you weatherd it and did the door/wheels like that, looks like a real truck I would have seen back in the day as a teen in the 80's beatin' around. Nicely done B)
Thank you!
This came out amazing Chris. Everything looks the part. I was loving the steely missing the hubcap that was a great touch.
Thanks much Brian!
Model reviews aren't supposed to get you choked up, but I grew up in a blue collar family and your little story to go along with the model got me right where it hurts.
Glad you liked it, sorry about making you choke up. But we all have those memories if our parents worked for a living.
What a great job !!! I do have to admit this one set off my OCD. I was doing fine with the green door, but the mis-matched mirrors and the one mag wheel sent me over the edge. LOL
Thanks! Haha, sorry about the OCD!
Beautiful job as always Chris!!
Thanks Kevin!
Love the “beater” look on this one mate, all the mix-matched parts and weathering details really suit it. Nice one
Thanks Dale!
Excellent build Chris! Loved your weathering, choice of colors, that green door as well as the mis matched wheels!
Thanks a lot John!
😮. Now I want MINE ! lol. Another great build/review! Can’t wait to get a couple of these.
Thanks Clifton!
This is by far my favorite model assembly of yours to date!! I had this exact truck, brought back a lot of memories! Mine was the blue color that is on the box art. I had the Cragar 5's with the fatty's on the back...miss that truck...great video. Thanks for sharing. :)
Thanks for the support!
Love it! 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻😍
More 60-70's Dodge trucks! 🤘🏻✊🏻😎
I agree!
Some pre 78 dodge truck kits would be great
Yes, mid 60s POWER WAGON.
I always liked the 56
Awesome work and great detail in your work!
Thank you very much!
I loved this particular MPC model as a kid in the 70s. I must have built every variety it came out in. This brought back some memories!
Thanks!
That is so cool, I love the D100 trucks. Great weathering technique my friend. Keep up the great work and have a great day.
Thank you Chopper!
Cool build... looks great
Thanks Doozer!
Super cool Chris! Thanks buddy 🏁🏁👍👍👍
Thanks!
That built up nice. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Charlie!
Love the back story . The build is quite amazing .
Thanks Jimmy!
I love how you take a kit and make it your own, great build
Thanks a lot Charles!
Another awesome build. My Dad used to have a Ford in Daytona Yellow - it was a magnet for Bees, Wasps, and flies in the summer, who were mistaking it for a giant flower!
I had a Daytona Yellow Ford too.... Faded badly and every insect in the country was having sex on it...
Nice!
I really love your choice of scale models.
Thanks!
I always enjoy your storytelling
Thanks man!
That. Is. AMAZING.
Great build Chris
Thanks!
turned out really nice!!! like the weathering.
Thanks!
I just picked up a 1977 dodge d100 slant 6. She started today after three years of sitting pretty badass.
Great Video Chris, good tips !!! Gonna get this kit !.
Thank you Tom!
That looks great!! You paint and build some awsome models
Thanks a lot Robert!
Great build and review Chris! Well done...and when you buy a kit from Jack @ Model Roundup nothing could be better than that! Great job and thanks for sharing Chris...
Thank you Mike!
I had (and may have) the 4X4 version that I built many years ago. Love this kit!
There are some 4WD parts on the trees so maybe we'll see it back!
@@hpiguy Yeah, I saw the mounting holes for the front leaf springs on the chassis. Let's hope they do!
Another winner, well done sir
Thanks!
always enjoy your kit reviews, you always sound so excited no matter what kit you're reviewing. Keep the video's coming
Thanks for watching Vernon!
That came out awesome! Nice job sir :)
Thanks!
Reminds me of an 87 Ram short bed a former neighbor of mine had. He shoehorned a 440 out of a late 70's Montico after going through it and freshing it up. We used to fry the rear tires on that thing. The neighbors loved us. Lol
very awesome build sir you did a great job
Thanks Eddie!
Excellent build
Thank you Eric!
kool , thanx.....love that Dodge p-up.......neat finish......jus finished the Miss Deal Studebaker here...keep building
Robert
Thank you Robert!
This too is an awesome build man! LOVE the music you play during the spray process. You ALWAYS make each of these videos VERY entertaining! I am VERY curious to see what the next build is?
Thanks!
Think ultra modern, about as opposite of the spectrum from this truck as you can get.
Another great weathered model...looks good!
Thank you Peter!
I am currently working on this model. It is going together great & I painted it Viper GTS Blue Pearl.
Outstanding ! I'm gettin' one......... Nice job.
Thank you Dan!
I built the 1984 4x4 long bed release of this era dodge. Mine was missing suspension and drivetrain so robbed an old lifted ramcharger kits lifted suspension and wheels and made my own 440 six pack from my spare parts. I stole the transfer case from an old parts bronco I had too. It’s just an old custom mud truck but definitely better than a stock build
What a terrific job you make me want to build models again I have a hundred and fifty models I'm not kidding you mostly a muscle cars cuz I'm a Ford muscle car nut but I love them all and I love the talent you make it look so easy
Thanks Steve, just grab a kit and get to having fun!
@@hpiguy hey bud I was wondering what glue do you use do you use to use super glue on everything cuz I know the old standard tester glue takes forever to dry and what's a really good brand of glue super glue that you use and if I could ask why do you use Rust-Oleum to seems off-the-charts opposed to any other paint and if I may ask one more LOL I see that you use that floor shine for your final but I've seen you use clear coat to how come you would do that or both I appreciate your response thank you again great work
Fantastic work! Great looking truck, very realistic. I learned to drive in a turquoise ‘67 Dodge pick-up... would love to find a scale model of that year someday.
Thanks, cool!
Looks awesome brother keep up the awesome work
Thanks Tom!
Hi Chris, norm here that's a nice kit and love the mini bike, its a Rupp Roadster I had one in 1970
Thanks Norm!
Great build👍👌💕
Thanks Sam!
In college I drove a 1974 Dodge pick-up. It had the 225ci slant six engine, 3 speed on the column
Came out very, very nice! Back in the 80's, I was living in Champagne, Illinois.. and a friend of mine had a small landscaping business while we were going to school.. and he had a truck that looked just like that.. hood a different color.. mismatched wheels.. I thought of him as soon as I saw this truck :)
Awesome, thanks Hisham!
Just got this kit.......Looking forward to building it !! 👍👍👍👍
The motor is actually a big block 400-440 engine. MPC made a nice small block in the 75 Dart Sort kit that will drop in there and look great. I used it in the Little Red Truck kit to make it look semi correct. Thanks for the video and I'm looking forward to the release of this kit.
Thanks for the info!
3 years late, but yes... distributor on the front of the engine = B/RB engine
Great job on this truck kit Chris. Congrats on your affiliation with model roundup. Jack is a cool guy & great to do business with.
Thanks Rick, heck yeah, good peeps over there!
I love it! I' m a big fan of Dodge!
Thanks!
I love it!!
Thanks!
Awesome job
Thank you Jeff!
Nice Job on Your Dodge Pickup '78.!
Thanks Carlos!
love it!
Thanks!
Great looking kit, really nice weathering. Hope the bring out more Dodge trucks, would like to do a rumble bee version.
Thanks, me too!
my dad bought me a used sears minibike with a 5 hp tecumseh on it back in about 88, was the best christmas
Cool!
That yellow is beautiful
Thanks!
Distributor up front that’s a 400 or a 440. Awesome build Chris!
I used to build models when I was a kid in the 60s, they were t as complicated like they are now, wish they would go back to having metal Axel's for both ends like they used back them. You could Jack the car up, or lower it. Used to take a red ink pen an make redline tires if they didn't come with the kit. Had a lot of fun building those kits. You could buy 3or 4 kits for what one cost now.
Looks like you shrunk down a real ol' truck, VERY realistic, very nice, thank you
Thank you Jalil!
Cool build Chris, the pickup looks great!...Bill
Thanks a lot Bill!
You did a great job, looks like some of the trucks I see on the road.
Thanks!
Very Nice! I'm glad these are back out. I do wish they came with a second hood tho. A Scoop Hood, like the one I had back in the 70's. Gonna definitely buy this kit tho. Thank you for sharing! I really enjoy your Builds.
Thanks Bonde!
very nice work 👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
You are sooo good for do butiful models cars! you have a new fan!
Thank you so much!
It's the "mis matched" things that add both detail and deepen the story. Very nice. You are an artist whose canvas is styrene - WOW.
Thank you for sharing...
Thanks again!
I like the story's he makes with these trucks
Haha, thanks!
I love your channel whatching in Brazil all the kits build with perfection and also very good to learn technics
Thank you Ronaldo!
Great work on this one, I hope one day to be good a Weathering models but for now I cant seem to.
It's pretty easy, dry brushing and make it dirty. Practice and it comes easy.
nice job chris weathered just right
Thank you Jeff!
now that was a different way to build the truck I liked the rusted used truck look and adding a different door was a nice touch as with the different rims, nice build
Thanks Craig!
whoa they remade this...i had a bunch back in the 70s...they had dirt bikes with the kit
I had a Dodge Power wagon and it was yellow. I took some chocolate brow spray paint to the bottom of the frame and to the top of the cab. Everyone thought it was that way from dodge. It look good also.
Pretty cool build. If I ever get one of those, I wanna paint it Panther Pink!
That will stand out!
Nice story, ol' boy! 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks Kevin!
Great kit, great job, typical hard working family truck. 279,000 miles, little late for an oil change, smokes just a tad. Extremely dependable. Nice.
Little blue smoke off the line but she's got another 50K in her!
I remember Dodge trucks back then, they didn't paint the whole unit at once so the panels were slightly different shades. Folks complained about it. Dodge's basic engine would have been their slant six. Like Ford and GM sixes, they were all well designed and fondly remembered.
I have an old Monster Truck version of this kit. I’m building it as an off road Cummins with cut fenders.
Hey that's my pickup!
