A couple helpful things. The ages of joining in this are off, Korean age is counted differently than us. So when they say jk joined at 15 he was really 13yrs, a few months before his 14th birthday. One of the reasons Bang PD made the run BTS show was to allow the boys to experience a 'childhood' together 💜

Nope.
He auditioned when he was 13 (he has repeatedly said "summer of 2011", but as the auditions were held in Busan in June that year, it was just 3 months before his 14th b-day, but, yes, still 13 at the audition).
He was a trainee until he joined BTS.
He got his dorm assignment (that is; moved into the BTS dorm/joined the group) in mid-Nov. of 2012...which he's also talked about often...putting him at 2 months *after* his 15th birthday.
The ages do get confusing because they often used international age during international shows, but - of course - they used Korean age when on Korean talk shows/radio interviews. However, sometimes they did get confused as to where they were and sometimes accidentally switched them up.
I am SO thankful Korea has done away with the "Korean age" thing and have switched to actual birth date now...many are still trying to get used to it, though, so it may still be a while before we hear them say their actual ages during interviews or they may come out of the military and already have that figured out. LOL Only time will tell on that one.

That was even before they released Dynamite & Butter which were (and continue to be) many people’s “introduction” to BTS, particularly in the U.S. If they were to book it *now* they could easily sell out many more nights. I know *I* would do my best to book a flight there to attend, and I only fell down the BTS/ARMY rabbit hole early this year.

Helpful hint for the guide: Not sure if you know.... Korean people used to count age differently to others...
Korean Age vs International Age - difference is 1-2 years depending on if their birthday has been.... In most older videos, including this guide, they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust.
So, The members were only 13-18 years old when they became trainees and 15-20 yo when they debuted.
In Korea when you were born you were considered 1 year old. Then on Korean new year every year you added another year to your age, no matter what your birthdate is. ....
Year of birth - International age at Debut on 13June13 (Year and age became trainee)
Jin 1992 - 20 yo (2011 - 18yo)
Suga 1993- 20 yo (2011 - 17yo) Suga started with MIDI at 11
JHope 1994 - 19 yo (2011 - 17yo)JHope started dancing at 8
RM 1994 - 18 yo (2010 - 15yo) RM started rapping at 11 and was well known in the underground scene at 13
Jimin 1995 - 17 yo (2012 - 16yo)
V 1995 - 17 yo (2011 - 15yo)
JK 1997 - 15 yo (2011 - 13yo) JK signed with big hit at 13yo
Rule of thumb for older videos - if it's before their birthday - subtract 2 years to get international age. if it's after their birthday - subtract 1 year to get their international age.
EG: TaeHyung (V) born 30 Dec 1995 ...... current International Age 27 (Korean Age 29). ... 2 years difference
So Tae born 30 Dec 95 is 1 year old, then on 01 Jan 96 he is 1 more year older (so they would say he is 2 years old, when we would say he is 2 days old.)
So he was considered 29 in Korea since 01 January, we would say he is 27 turning 28 in Dec.
It's a different way of looking at age, from new years day - Tae is living his 29th year (since conception) - instead of - he turned 27 (since birth)....
The Korean Government has recently (June28) brought in international age as the standard in Korea, but all older videos/ interviews/ shows, will be referencing Korean age.

Becoming a stan of BTS is like winning the lottery. Not only just good music and talent, but the message/lyrics, and the fact they are good people who sincerely care about us and are grateful/appreciative. Aside from group contributions, individual members secretly donate to help those in need on their own birthdays every year. We usually end up finding out months later from the organizations or maybe someone found out. These days people seem to be finding out sooner, like weeks.

Quick thing they didn't include in the guide, which I think is actually pretty helpful for people newer to this stuff, family name is put first, followed by your own name. For example, with RM, his name is Kim Namjoon, Kim is his family name/last name, and Namjoon is his own name.
Kim is also an incredibly common last name which is why a lot of them have it.

For those in the U.S., I've always explained it as "Kim" is the Korean equal to "Smith" or "Jenkins". If you can get your hands on an actual phone book...unless you're in a SUPER small town...it's truly astounding how many Smith's and Jenkins' there are. My city, population just a tad over 600,000 at last census, I think around 1/3 of the phone book were one of those two last names.

Worth it, I promise! 2) Another reaction channel had Taylor Mari on their show yesterday (10/16/23). Taehyung V is the inventor of the word Borahae 💜💜🫶 Taehyung gave us Borahae "• Why purple?
Purple has different meaning for BTS and ARMY.
V of BTS made a phrase, he said "purple is the last color of rainbow. It means i will trust and love you for a long time"
So we show our affection to each other by saying "i purple you" or "보라해" (Borahae)" .. whose words at the UN and WH were shared by reputed org. and people, whose quotes are powerful and deep,.. Oh wow it was different for me in the beginning. The members I was able to tell apart easily in the beginning were RM and J-Hope. Jin and Jimin resembled each other a lot to me at the time. And I would mix up Suga, Jungkook and V all of the time. It can take some time to figure it out. Especially if you're jumping from era to era and their overall look is different for each MV. Then you'll get to a point where you'll wonder how on earth you mixed any of them up because suddenly none of them resembles each other in your head.

Hi! That was a great reaction and I'm going to look for more from you! You caught all the small stuff that most reactors miss, I liked your attention to it. I'm very proud of their donation to Black Lives Matter because they don't speak up politically too much, their fans are all walks of life. Did you see, though, that Army also raised a matching million in 24 hours? BTS has faced so much racism themselves, especially in the US. I think this is why the US grammys haven't accepted them, race, country and language. As for Jin and his waffle capital of Belgium - the capital is Brussels. I waited and waited and waited for this. Every age in this was at least one year younger. Because at that time Koreans counted you one year at birth and then at new year you become one year older even if you haven't had your birthday yet. So this year when they changed it everybody in Korea became one to two years younger. Which of course affects National Service entrance. So in that audition he failed he was 13. and 14 when he moved into the dorms with the other 7 and 15/16 at debut. V was hidden for multiple reasons. Their expert said he was just coming out of puberty and the longer they could give his face to mature the more handsome he would become. Plus they considered him a secret weapon and they did not want him poached.

Thank you so much for reacting to and starting your BTS journey. You guys are in for a lot of fun! You will find ARMY's are creative, welcoming, smart and so very smart! @70 yrs old I'm impressed by at least ten ARMY a day. Here are some tips I found helpful on my journey. 1st. stop trying to identify them by hair style or color. They change it constantly, you'll loose your mind, LOL. Mic colors don't work either, although JK's is always purple, and Jin's is almost always Pink. Stay away from trying to understand the BU yet, it's way to early. Also, look for explanation videos with some of the MV. I see some guys watching a MV and then going right into the explanation videos. I find the best ones to be by rice squad.

Many are kidnapped by K-pop songs, but, the person who knows the value of hip hop and knows what real music and rap are, is the one who appreciates BTS, for me they are the best, the lyrics of their songs are always legendary, and no one can beat the beats they make or their delivery, they are kings, And they did not reach this stage like the rest of the singers, but they got very tired and worked hard until their ass got shattered, they deserve the best, not because they are famous, but because they paved the way, because they are the best!

she really did a good job but mow in 2023 it's far from being recent and updated! I just want to point out that she forgot to mention that RM's 148 IQ is genius level but Jimin and Jungkook both have an IQ of 128 which is pretty high too. I don't know about all members but Taehyung and Suga seems to have an IQ above average too. She said that Jungkook is good in everything but she forgot to say that Jin also is good in almost every sports, he also can play the piano and guitar! The other members startet to learn some instruments too. RM is the only one fluent in English but now in 2023 the other members learned it pretty well. It can not really be updated because with BTS you basically can't have an updated version for a long time. If you want an accurate update of BTS you would have to add another 5 Minutes every other week because they are working so much that they achieve something new every other week. For example as of May till now, they again released multiple solo albums, other projects, had solo concerts/performances, won many awards, are brand ambassedors and broke records. And if you want detailed videos about each member it would have been a 2 hours video for every single one (probally longer LOL)

Loved the reaction, guys. Thank you for your honest reactions to Bangtan. I would really like to recommend a companion video to you guys. It's another documentary style video called " The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS 2023 update" by Rice Squad. I like to recommend this video after reactions have seen the Taylor Guide because this also helps get a well rounded picture of BTS as a whole. It really is powerful and inspiring to see how much they have accomplished in their careers together. No matter how many times I watch this video or reactions to this video, it always makes me emotional with Pride for Bangtan, and I am truly honored to call myself ARMY! 💜💜

Aww. You guys were great. LOL. Enjoyed immensely. Glad you will watch again. You missed a little, but not all that much. When multiple reactors do it together a lot of time there is so much talking they miss a lot if they don't pause. You did great! Going to see what more you've done. Enjoy your journey.
