Badr Hari vs Alistair Overeem last day training Thailand
Trainer Nick Hemmers and Alistair Overeem moved to Thailand for their training camp to prepare for Alistair Overeem’s fight with Badr Hari on 8 October 2022 in the Gelredome in Arnhem for GLORY.
As Nick Hemmers, at the end of the training camp period, had to move to Singapore with his other fighters Bruno Chavez and Marat Grigorian, both fighting in One FC - One Championship, he asked his father, Cor Hemmers, who was on holiday and on a business trip in Thailand, to take care of the last training day with Alistair Overeem.
Cor Hemmers and GLORY and K1
Cor Hemmers, former Managing Director Sport of GLORY, was in the golden era from Golden Glory, the striking trainer from Alistair Overeem, and trained Alistair Overeem two times to fight his rival, Badr Hari, in the heyday of K1.
With pleasure and good memories, Cor promised his son Nick Hemmers to do the job for this last session.

After his career in the UFC, Alistair Overeem still wants to experience the kickboxing fight game. Alistair Overeem, the last official Grand Prix winner, and Champion of the K1 in 2010, wants to taste it one more time and therefore signed with GLORY to challenge the champion, Rico Verhoeven. First, Alistair Overeem will face historical rival Badr Hari, a former k1 star. Alistair Overeem and Badr Hari have a long track record in combat sports and know each other from previous encounters in the ring. The fighters are evenly matched.

Alistair Overeem, training during the golden era of the K1 under the guidance of former martial arts trainer and legacy Cor Hemmers, has chosen to return to the familiar nest at Hemmers Gym in Breda, The Netherlands, to prepare for this fight against Badr Hari. HEMMERS GYM Hemmers Gym, active at the top since 1984, is already 12 years led and managed by the new owner Nick Hemmers, the son of Cor Hemmers and the brother of kickboxing and Muay Thai legend Ramon Dekkers. Nick Hemmers, born from his father, Cor Hemmers, and the mother of Ramon Dekkers, is the youngest descendant of the Hemmers-Dekkers Dynasty. Nick Hemmers has already more than proven his spurs. Fighters like Marat Grigoririan, Harut Grigorian, Jamal Ben Saddik, Jady Menezes, Jonathan Diniz. Nick Hemmers has already conquered several champions’ belts.
DUTCH KICKBOXING
Alistair Overeem is familiar with the Hemmers Dutch kickboxing system from the Golden “Golden Glory” era, training with Cor Hemmers. Hemmer’s gym is also regular with fighter Badr Hari. Hemmers Gym fighters and fighter Badr Hari often crossed swords with varying degrees of success.
After mixed martial arts in the UFC, Alistair is back kickboxing and immediately accepts the fight with Badr Hari. In addition to thorough training of body and skills, the mindset also plays a severe role in the fight. Strategy, focus, control, and coolness are essential factors.
Alistair is getting ready for his third meeting with Badr Hari. Alistair is still waiting for his promised MMA fight when Badr challenged Alistair, it never came. So it is again Alistair who will fight on Kickboxing rules, and he knows Badr will never fight MMA rules.
