Why does no one make a straight replacement? There's zero manufacturers making reproduction dash pad for these years. Earlier, later years, no problem. For some reason the 90s trucks are non-existent.
A replacement dash that looks OEM would have to be injection molded, and injection mold toolings are unbelievably expensive to produce. A tooling the size of a dash could easily cost upwards of 750K-1M if made in the USA, which creates an immense amount of risk. Even if ROI was guaranteed by number of sales, very often toolings have to be corrected and reworked, which drives up cost even more. Finally, if you produce a replacement dash, you run the risk of being sued for patent infrigement by OEMs. TL;DR: Insanely high cost and risk.
