    When I went skydiving I wasn't afraid but my pro jumper was terrified because I'm so tall.This guys top head reached my mid back. @AlvaBarr Pƙed 11 měsĂci

      Im 5'9, just a little taller than average. And yes, I was born female. The skydiving facility where I went had whoever was jumping for that day draw a card out of a bowl and that card had a number. Well as if skydiving wasn't scary enough already, mother nature threw a "little" extra ha, ha minus, at me. I literally mean Little because my pro was only half a man. I think I got duped. When I drew the number 12 I looked up, around and noticed all these strong tall secure and safe pro skydiver guys pairing up with their person and I didn't see mine. So, I called out 12. But I couldn't see him. That's because he was standing behind this counter bar reception thing, so when I called #, this tiny little thing of a man emerged from behind the reception desk saying: Here!! waving his stubby little toddler hand and I notice the# 12 pinned in front!!! I immediately fell my stomach sink to the floor and let out a nervous laugh. My friends, were of course dying laughing at me because the dude was 4 ft 3. One inch above being considered a midget. Pro 12 came up to me all giddy and look up with this huge grin. Almost like in a mischievous way cause, in his mind he knew.. this poor girl is shitting her pants!! I was shitting my pants, trying to keep my composure while internally freaking out. He goes: you ready? I nodded a little yes, then said HELL NO! And then began praying, Why God? why?. It was a wild and funny experience. Probably a one-timer for me but a must do experience for sure.

I’d be devastated if I saw a 4’3 pro guy walking towards me for the once in a lifetime experience. I want a tall, tough dude to jump with. Their height and body comfort our mind subconsciously. I think that lottery system is bullsh*t. The divers should be paired up according to the height of us normal folks. Better luck next time, hope you get a 6 feet tall dude lmao.

Not only was I carrying this little man on my back but I had a ponytail on that day so when we jumped off the plane my ponytail went crazy in this whipping circular motion slapping the poor guys face the whole way down. I have the video and I'm dying everytime I see it because you can see the guy making all these squinting ouch faces every time my ponytail came around and gave him a stinging whip or slap to his face. I think he was happier than me to have touched ground to put an end to the abusive hair beating he had to endure. Also, we were the only ones to fall forward when we landed because I already had half of my legs on the ground before his feet touched down. The entire experience, section by section was fn hilarious!! đŸ˜‚đŸ€Ł đŸ€ŁBut I would do it again in a heart beat ♄

      I'm a climber as well. Some would define the kind of climbing I do as exceedingly reckless but I've never felt fear or that my life was in danger for a moment with a few exceptions of course. Idk it's like I was made solely to be on the face of the mountain when I'm there doing it. My thoughts stop, my emotions cease, I forget my own name and I'm just there, hands and legs and core is the totality of my awareness in those moments. It's almost ineffable for me to describe the feeling but man it's like I am the mountain do you know what I mean? And to clarify what I mean by exceedingly reckless is that I RARELY climb sober. I'll either smoke some very strong weed, or take a psychedelic and then I go out, completely alone mind you because I can't stand climbing with other people it makes me nervous. but yeah it's a very mystical experience for me and that's without the drugs. The drugs turns it into an epic that would rival the fucking Bible in it's profundity. I've been climbing like this for 11 years now, 4 times a year I go out and find a big mean fucking mountain and I just merge with it. Standing at that peak, looking out makes me feel like dying but in a good way.

    • @bakersmileyface
      @bakersmileyface Pƙed 2 lety +18

      A lot of people mistake height vertigo for a fear of heights. You can't get vertigo in a plane since all of your senses recognise that you're in motion, so you won't feel dizzy or anything like that. Whereas if you're on top of a building looking down, your senses get a conflict on whether you're moving or not which causes that dizzy spinning feeling that makes you want to sit down.
      In fact because the plane is already traveling at speed, you won't even feel your stomach turn, you won't have a loss of breath and you won't feel like you're falling. As opposed to something like bungee jumping where you're rapidly accelerating to terminal velocity from 0mph. You will definitely feel all of those things.
      It's pretty cool.

      @patrickspapens5497 Pƙed 2 lety +3

      @@bakersmileyface very true! Although I don't get a spinny dizzy feeling on top of a building. For me it's when either the floor isn't a fixed object and I am at a reasonable height off the floor or when I have to get from point a to b with a challenging path, for instance climbing a tree with only a few of those wooden planks nailed to the tree. I can handle a few meters, but any higher and I just freeze up. My body is rejecting my mind when it tells it to climb higher. Or like when I have to do some work where I have to use one of those platforms that you can manoeuvre around and then go straight up and down. It's not the up and down part that gets to me, it's when the platform is raised and I have to move around and the whole things starts wobbling in every direction. I don't get dizzy, disoriented or anything. It's just my body turning into a block of concrete, not able to move an inch.

I had a fear of heights and was ready to back out when I saw how high and long it is. You’d go solo so you had no one to cling onto except for the safety gear. When It was my time to go, I remembered screaming so much halfway until my body just froze. Then I realized it was so calm and peaceful that I was so overwhelmed by it. When it was over and I had to leave, I regretted screaming so much in the midst of it because it was really calming and loved the feel of the wind and how blue the water or how green the trees are. absolutely right, most blissful ever. I jumped for 5yrs, unfortunately I had a very bad accident and broke my legs and severely hurt my back. I recovered after a very long time. I’m a father now and dream of doing it again, my 6yr old daughter watches my videos and always says she wants to jumps. My dream one day is to jump with her. I’m not gonna lie but I’m frightened, I thought I was dead that day of my accident. God give me strength to get back up there.

    Random internet confession:
    I skydived once, was awesome! I remember two things clearly: (1) looking up and seeing the sun between my feet as we fell, then looking up and seeing the earth. Wasn’t disorientating, felt peaceful, and (2) after pulling the chute and looking down and the drop beneath my feet, was pretty terrifying realizing my life depended on the two metal caribiners.
    Also my aunt was learning skydiving from a dude in the 70s and on their 15th jump his chute didn’t deploy correctly and he died but she landed fine. She quit after that. I called her a pussy after I jumped but neither she nor I jumped again. I feel like she still has it over on me but I’ll never tell her that.
