- After getting a few questions in another video about the line up at URBN Surf, I found this footage and decided to share it with you. This is what it looks like when you're waiting for your wave at URBN Surf wave pool in Melbourne. This is the Advanced setting. It was pretty intimidating at first when the wave generator starts. As you can see lot's of people don't make the take off or miss waves completely. An expensive exercise!

Thank you for sharing a special and beautiful video. Always be happy and healthy!
Thanks for watching! ✌🏼
It great to see that
It put a smile on my face
Can’t wait to get back there again
I miss it so much
Awesome Stephen! So nice to hear. Yeah mate, such a great spot. Sydney ones are getting built soon which will be great. Hope to sneak a trip back to Melbourne sometime soon for another couple of sessions.
Super cool Josh! I'd get all nervous and blow it every time, great job mate, can't imagine how fun it must be. Hoping you're back in the salty stuff quick!
Thanks mate. Yeah you do feel pressure that’s for sure but once you start to paddle into the wave your focus shifts pretty quickly. Can’t wait to go back there.
Thanks bro. Great idea showing that. I imagine the new Sydney URBN will be heavily subscribed 😂. Sticking to dawn surfing here.
Sessions are limited though so you get heaps of waves. No substitute for the real thing though
Holy moly, $7.00!! I could see myself blowing every wave! Nicely done! :)
You wouldn’t be alone mate. I think people (myself included) under estimate how difficult it is. Still so much fun
Hi from. Cool you show that. I tried the pool wave in switzerland. Pretty much the same wave. It was super hard. I am an experienced surfer and thought it was going to be easy. Take off is really rough, you have to paddle hard. After 10 waves I was done.
Thank you! I agree, it is so much harder than you think it is going to be! Extremely tiring after a couple of waves. Would love to go back still. Switzerland pool looks really fun!
Totally agree people underestimate the take off especially on the maxed out advanced turns midway on . Plenty of free falls on take-off next to wall
So true Mike! Literally free falls on the take off! When it goes to barrel mode the take off is super mellow though. So weird. Either way it’s so much fun
@@joshtraceysurfing Have you done the Advanced turns session ? True with the regular Advanced in barrell mode the take is mellow all about lining it up I guess
@@mikeelkios436 I haven’t! Not enough session in the day, they’re always booked out. Would love to though
That's what I'm talking about!
cool vid thanks
Thanks for tuning in David. If you have a look at my channel there are some more urbn surf videos, including one that tells you what to expect when you go! 🤙🏻🤙🏻
man..you make that look easy
haha Thanks man its not easy, as you know!
@@joshtraceysurfing yea..I need some serious cardio work before next time
@@middleagedshred hahaha me too!
@@joshtraceysurfing :)
*like an assembly line, just pumping them out*
It is hey! Wonder what the energy bills are like to power that thing
Does the waves just keep on coming without a break for the whole session ? Haven’t been in the water for a few months questioning my paddle endurance , did you find you had time to Recover your shoulders between waves
Hey mate it does stop, in sydney they do sets of 6 with about 3 mins in between sets. That being said, paddle fitness is important here as there is a lot of water moving in the pool. Maybe take on one of the more chill sessions for your first one back :)
What do the guys that fall off do? Can they get the next wave or wait till everyone’s got theirs?
They’re supposed to go to the end of the line. Make sure you paddle hard haha
How is the lockdown going? When are you back in the water
Man out of ISO today finally. Rumours of lockdown easing mid october! fingers crossed!
I wish you could walk right out or get jet ski assist haha.
Hahaha rubber arms by the end of a session! Be good to jump off the back when it’s your wave
Can u bodyboard there?
Yeah for sure! I reckon you'd get some gnarly deep barrels on a body board.
how deep is that pool?
Depends. Close to take off it’s super deep but get shallower as the wave progresses. In barrel mode where it barrels is about waist deep. It’s common to hit the bottom.
Wait you have to pay for fucking up?
😂😂 nah, I just mean that when you breakdown the cost of the session per wave it costs about $7-8, so if you fall off you waste $7-$8. 🤙🏻
@@joshtraceysurfing ahhh ok 😂
@@dave3173 maybe the should introduce it though! Might stop people falling on the take off 🙂
If ya haven’t been and you can go, I recommend it, it’s great fun
@@joshtraceysurfing yeah I was watching urs and noz’s vids to research a bit cause I’m pretty sure surf lakes isn’t open to public right?
@@dave3173 I’m not sure to be honest. That place looks so gnarly!
It looks small and uneventful
It's not, even when you're there and looking at it, it doesn't look big. It is a different story when you're in the water though. When it hits barrel mode the lip is fairly thick and dredges pretty hard. It's good fun for sure.
