How powerful are the lyrics sung by Abrar. "Mai ni mai. Mai ik shikra yaar banaya. Choori kuttan te oh khanda naahi. Mai dil da maas khavaya". Morbid, yet sophisticated, and so very intense. I tried to look up the source and voila! Written by none other than the great Shiv Kumar Batalvi (also sung by Jagjit Singh in the past). Sung soulfully by Abrar as well. Heart-wrenching stuff.
Best part of the composition .. the beautifully sung shayari written by one of the greatest punjabi poets of all time .. Shiv Kumar Batalvi ji ... Maaye ni maaye, main ik shikra yaar banayaa.. waah ... and Saayein ji .. hats off Sir .. tuhaade agge hath judd jaande ne

Why so much hatred for this endeavour? It's a wonderful song which is amazingly sung by the legend Saieen Zahoor and Abrar-ul-haq. I am an ardent follower of Shiv Kumar Batalvi's poetry but we all should take a moment to praise the efforts coke studio and all the artists for touching these miracle words and making an enrapturing song.
I think this is probably they most soulful song that Abrar ul haq has sang in his entire career, the melody and the calmness of his voice is truly relaxing. Beautiful music and composition by Rohail. My favorite song in the entire 10 seasons of coke studio!
