if you do research you realize Carter only fulfilled a promise of Eisenhower..thru Nixon to get out of the Cz. it outlived its usefulness and was costly. i loved it. Go cougars and bulldogs.

I attended Canal Zone shools 3r grade thru Ninth grade....!!!c
Non explanation? We have to know to understad this but what the people that never put a feet in the zone?
I miss Panama Canal zone lost paradise.
So, so sad that stupid Carter gave the Canal Zone away! Loved the Canal Zone, and going for lunch at the YMCA and swimming at the pool there.
Went there,Go Bulldogs.... was I. ROTC 1967-68
BHS grad class of 69. Surfing was my thing.
My children went to Clayton and Currundo schools 1970-74! I went to the Cana Zone College and Florida State located on Allbrook AFB.
CHS 1966 to 1968. Was on the Drill Team and in a band that played around at the different clubs.
