As someone who went from living with a sibling to living alone, it’s a hard transition to make so give yourself grace and allow yourself to feel all the things. My therapist told me to look at this as an opportunity to truly figure out yourself: what you like and want separate from the influence of people around you

I'm 33 and I've been living on my own for about 4 years now. And let me tell you, you're going to look around one day when it's quiet and you're alone and have that epiphany that you did that. That is YOUR place, your hard work, your effort. You're going have friends and family over and feel PROUD to have them. And then you'll have that peace and quiet with your morning coffee, watering your plants, playing with Chloe or just watching TV when you're learning to be your own friend, learning more about yourself as an independent human being.
I PROMISE baby girl... You're going to realize this is one of the greatest adventures of your life. 😍

I moved out by myself for the first time this past December and let me tell you the crying is normal, the uncomfortableness is normal, the being lonely is normal. Once you get used to it and find your groove in your new place it slowly goes away and then you end up loving it (at least I did, I love living alone more than I liked living with a roommate.) you got this 💜

I know how you feel. When my little sister moved out of our parents house 2.5 hours away, I was sad too. I was so used to my partner that I lived with my whole life, my weekend shopping partner, our random week day lunches and dinner together.. it was tough, I remember visiting her a lot the first few months, but eventually I got used to the time apart and appreciated the time together. It’s hard. That bond with a sister is strong.

I was crying with you in this video. I felt exactly the same way when I moved out on my own. As you begin to make your place your own, it will get easier. I can’t wait to see how both you and Alisha grow through this and make your homes uniquely yours.

I am so happy that you're making these moving videos right now. I have lived in Texas my entire life and I now live with my boyfriend and our 2 rescue pups. We spontaneously decided to move to Colorado a few months ago. Our moving day is approaching very fast and I am catching myself randomly overcome with emotion. I'm not the kind of person that's big on change so I am absolutely terrified of what our life is going to be like. At first I was so excited to live in another state but now I am so scared of leaving my family. Anyway, I really appreciated this video. Thank you.

It’s okay to be sad. Grief doesn’t happen in just sad times alone, grief can just come with transition. I cried when I got married and had my first baby- both very happy times but also sad because I was grieving “what once was”. It’s okay for you to feel these feelings. They will pass with time 😊

I’ve been living on my own for a little over a year now and the first month was definitely the hardest. While I still sometimes feel lonely I also am so grateful to have a homey and safe space that I can call my own. I’ve also grown and learned so much about myself. Your feelings are totally valid and it’s okay to grieve your old self while looking forward to what the future holds ❀
