  • Following on from the flood damage appraisal on the Yamaha Grizzly 450 I completed the service on the bike. The one last job to get done was to replace the front wheel bearings...
All the 'servicing' videos have all been uploaded previously, however, replacing the front hub bearings is another common task on ATVs so I felt I'd put the work to camera as it may be helpful to one or two of you.
This video covers the disassembly & removal of the knuckle joint, the removal of the seals & bearings, an inspection of the casting, instillation of the new bearings and seals & then the refitting to the bike.
The video includes a few helpful hints and tips, a torque setting or two & even the part numbers for the bearings.
If you have any questions then please add them to the comments section below & I'll do my best to get back to you soon...

You could put the axle nut back on and bang on that while you take the cv axle out. It help to not damage it. Seen it on ETCG

A really good video as always!
Assume the bike is not flooded.... In your opinion.... When do you know when it is time to replace wheel bearings ?
Symptoms, handling, what to listen for... etc...

Andy i like your style but seals and gaskets always need replacing. They are short money easy to find items someone should be able to source for you especially wheel bearing seals. I agree with some (Correction) most) stuff but not all of your methods.

+H I agree. I would normally replace all gaskets and seals but at the time if doing the repair some were not available as on backorder.
Thanks for the feedback. Cheers Andy

I have tried to save time and money this way is all thinking sealed bearing would work instead of true seals. Shockingly ALWAYS comes back to haunt me with reduced service on the equipment. What ever happened with Your sons transmission on his bike new engine or did you split the case? Not sure how to search.

I think the bearing failed because all of the archers fell out of the caste nut turrets which was upside down.
