That was a rather weak ultimatum, but sybils threat to make her father sorry still had him bending to her way. A father always is soft for his daughter. In the end he also gave his reluctant blessing for her marriage despite his disapproval. He knows he can’t sway Sybil 😀
No it wasn't. Sybil had already confided in him she wanted a different style in clothes from the dress maker. I think the new design of outfit was their little secret. Tom was looking through the window to see the big reveal.
