Jesus, if I see Vidal caving that poor guys face in with a bottle again, I am going to throw up. It really doesn't easier to see each time. Really great video regardless, this is more than enough material to use in the exam, especially on Gender Representation and Del Toro's views on the Catholic Church/Fascism.

Yes. It's probably the most graphic violence in all the films I teach. The sound is especially stomach churning!

However, I can thoroughly recommend Stephanie Muir's 'Studying City of God' book and David C Ryan's essay on the film, called 'Liberation Aesthetics'.
