Well... dark age isn't wrong. Other than glitches and the Sonic story had bad writing while the other two character stories were great especially Shadow's. In other words, it had potential. It's also the closest thing we have to SA3.
Sonics transition was bad because it actually started on the Sega genisis (the same console sonic started on originally anyways) with sonic 3d blast. A terrible game with terrible controls and an awkward camera angle.
