- Ridiculous series of high level StarCraft 2 between uThermal (Terran) and Mixu (Zerg). Rather than letting uThermal go for a Planetary Fortress Rush, Mixu decides to cheese him back with an insane Drone drop.

the issue is it is always going to be subjective. If the community votes, community favourites like Uthermal have the advantage, if judges vote, people may disagree with the decision
@@sevenpolar3483 I mean that's true of lots of sports, such as gymnastics, figure skating, diving, and fencing (for tied hits), doesn't make the addition a bad idea just means that some of the time people won't agree with the results.

Even the preimage of a BC can strike fear into the hearts of Terran's enemies.
I mean, when you have 0 anti-air atm even preimage is scary enough to gg out.

Yeah I think he needed one overlord and one dropperlord. Get a queen and a few drones in there to spread creep and build spine crawlers. Get the dropperlord to go back and pick up a few more drones and some units. His biggest issue was the creep spread once spine crawlsers needed to move.
I like the idea.
Definitely should have taken a queen with him for a creep tumor, even if it was put down a bit later, to provide reliable creep.
Honestly he accidentally had the PERFECT defense. No chance he held that with hellbats.
The biggest advantage of the nydus network is being able to move units super quickly across the map. What should have been done is that the nydus should be behind the crawlers, so that you can swarm out any zerg units at the base into the opponent's while any unit trying to kill said nydus will just end up dying due to being focus fired by the crawlers. My opinion at least
@@olegoleg258 I agree I had no idea why he didn't place the nydus way sooner, and further back. For some unknown reason he let all those spines finish and then chucked the nydus wayy far ahead so the other guy could see it

I love how quickly Mixu noped out of the second match.
I mean, a less stubborn player would have probably quit by the time he got swarmed by 7 or 8 Firebats, but the MILISSECOND he saw the BC, he just GG'd and quit.
If Mixu brought one queen to make a creep and didn't unborrow those spines, that would of maybe gone sooo much better!
Lowko casting Uthermal in these tournament settings is simply the most entertaining SC2 out there.

That's what I was thinking. Lowko made it sound like the vision of the nidus was a feature, not a bug, but if Mixu got even a single transfuse on the nidus, that game may have gone completely differently. The double Thor 100% shut down the barely-made-it-out-the-nidus queen play.
Ah yes, using OV with spines cheese to counter HB+PF cheese to be countered by Thor cheese, the cheeser out cheeses the other cheeser.

It’s a blind counter because thors are great at wrecking those spine crawlers AND they happen to be at HOME ready to defend right when the attack happened. The positioning of units also needs to be taken into consideration, because he blindly defending with those thors AT home.

Mixu could have dropped creep with his overlords while the CC was still in the air. Overloards were in position and lair was done… would have completely blocked the PF

You really can't beat uThermal with cheese. It's pretty much ALL he plays these days -- various flavors of cheese challenges on the ladder.
One thing you will learn about Thermy when you watch him is he REALLY loves his Planetary Fortress rushes and he absolutely ADORES Thors because both can be repaired very effectively with SCVs. I've never seen any other Terran player who makes as good use of SCVs to perform in-combat repairs as uThermal!

could terran literally grab their CC at the start of the game to move it elsewhere, confusing their opponent.
I think a zergling drop would have likely killed uThermal in game1. Alternatively, taking a queen with you during the spine drop would have also been betgter, even though it would have delayed the whole thing a little bit.

I think its so awesome that Lowko keeps mentioning this gold league player Serral or is he Platinum i forget. But he is indeed quite okay at the game, one might even say pretty average.

That instant gg when the cattle bruiser warped in was pretty godamn funny
Mixu built the nydus slightly too far within marcj's vision and he got noticed, so thors had time to destroy it fast. I think he would have won if he had time to bring in more queens.
The idea is very creative. It would hit different if he brings a queen with 6 drones for faster creep or deploys the nydus behind the spines.
But I hope Marc picks it up and refines the build in a new "stupid stuff to GM" series :D

A Thor can kill a Queen in under 4 seconds. It takes a Queen over a minute to kill a Thor :/
@@hivetech4903 I mean, everyone agrees the double Thor 100% shut down queen play, but imagine if the nidus was just a little bit further back, maybe Marc even pulls the army further forward searching for it, and then Mixu nails him right in the main base.
@@hivetech4903 That's another thing I hate about Terrans. Other units are good against what they counter, terrible against everything else. Terrans' are terrific against what they counter, potent against everything else.
