~Tapping into Your Potential Where Others Saw None~ - Hudba
I don’t know how to NOT Listen to Pentatonix now! These guys are KILLAZ! And JoJo is loving them. One day we will see them Live. 😏 Are you following me on Twitch? Faster Requests!
Just got back from a hard work at the vet, didn't knew this was gonna made me smile today ❤️
Let him react Amazing Grace by ptx
Or something that shows Kevin's amazing beatboxing like one of their medleys
If you haven't already listened to Home Free's version of Ring of Fire, please do! Avi from PTX joins them! Amazing bass between Avi and Tom ❤
Loved seeing your sons face as he got Mitch-slapped! Priceless.
they are very good ,but that song was made in the mixer studio sorry bloke
Your son's face when Mitch started singing is priceless 😂
I saw that! He met the Lord 🤣
Mitch slapped fs
Watched the goosebumps form. 💕 nothing compares to music….
This is what a Mitch Slap is! 😆
Daddy said it "You got Mitch slapped" 😆
I introduced my 73 year old mother to this song a couple months ago. She sat in my car and cried right along with me. The only way I can describe the feeling you get from this group is... Emotional. My mom passed away on May 6th on hospice. She said they sounded like what she imagined angels would sound like. I hope she was right and she hears these voices all the time now.
My heart is both broken to read your text but it is also filled with joy because you got to spend loving time with your mother before she passed. It feels like you were close. Don't know if you always felt so close, but none of that matters now. You have to know that, like the song says, 'your circle won't be broken...' Just because you can't see her doesn't mean she is gone. You can't really see wind and yet it can be one of the most powerful forces on earth. Please, don't take little odd things as just coincidences. Things that you associate with your mom, like her smell, her music coming on when you had just thought about her, your power flickering, or things like keys missing , then immediately found...even vivid dreams...all of those things could be your mom. She's just letting you know, she is not dead. She will always love her entire family. If you need her, speak out. Your mom knew what angels sound like and one day so will you. But you can't go until your work here is done. Great story you told. Thank you.
@@sparkytuttle2966 I really needed that, thanks. I'm currently in Las Vegas, NV dropping off some of my Mom's and my Dad's ashes with my stepbrother. My lights were flickering before we left the house and her death really hadn't hit me until this trip. Thanks for your kind words!
May God richly bless you sweet soul ❤
I think your Mom was right. They have the voices of angels. I hope she is loving every single second of those angels singing. I hope my Mom and Dad are hearing that as well. Your comment made me cry. A good cry though.
Bless you man, so sorry❤
Bravo to Dad for not only introducing your Son to something so amazing, but also a whole group of people who may have never heard of Pentatonix.
I'm one of them. 😁
I love how it really hit your son when Mitch opened up his pipes. The lower tones, are the bass. The bass hits like a truck and keeps on motoring. I have loved Pentatonix for years.
Me too!
I also love it when we get a chance to see Kirsten really belt. She gets to do that here. All of them are capable of belting, but she has this aura that surrounds her when SHE does it. And I first saw them in Sing Off, as my wife watched it regularly. That was starting in 2011, season 3, which they won.
JoJo should try SuperFruit, bet he'd like....
I love dads face during this cause he knows what he’s about to share with his son. Beautiful.
Absolutely felt that!!
Amen!
Glorious
Isn’t that the truth.
As long as he doesn't tell him yet what some of the song is about.
"That sounded like an angel, for real."
What a great reaction video.
This made me forgive Jojo for the Larry Bird reaction, lol.
That is exactly what I said-like what you would hear when you go to heaven
@@christipatrick1127 This song is about sex. Although the lyrics say hallelujah it is not a religous song.
Listen to the East er halluiua
That's cause he is!
You should give your take on Pentatonix singing "Mary, Did You Know?" It'll send chills up and down your spine. The words are able to melt even the hardest of hearts!
I love that song!
That was the first song i heard by them and i had the chill! I haven't heard anything like that before!
Definitely and Home Free also.
Especially Kevin’s voice at the end ❤
This
No matter how many times a person watches this, they are Mitch slapped every time!!!😱
Your son full up FROZE when he got Mitch-slapped. Priceless. And you're right - the group's blend is so good that no one voice sticks out above (or below) any other in the group unless it's the lead part. And the lead part, no matter what the song, always feels like it's still part of that one blend, just a little bit more forward.
Even if you warned him about Mitch, he still got Mitch slapped really hard 🤣 Love you guys.
I’m here because Mitch actually reacted him being Mitch slapped 😂
Your son had the best “Mitch slap” face!! Priceless. Welcome to the Pentatonix addicts anonymous:):)
Pentaholics...😂
One can tell that Van is a great father by how his children act around him 👏 Great job!!
Great big AMEN to that!
I dont care how many times I hear this, I still get chills at that first "Hallelujah"
That's called getting Avi-shook.
So help me Jesus; one of these days I'm going to listen to this and NOT cry!
@@TheCometHunter Right? Lol
Me too! There awesome!
@@TheCometHunter why the crying just means that the song is reaching your inner Spirit which was given to you by G-d and His Son. Amen
Your son's face didn't disappoint when Mitch started singing.😄 There have only ever been 5 members of Pentatonix at one time. Scott (tall blonde, baritone), Mitch (countertenor), Kirstin (alto/soprano), Kevin (beatboxer/tenor/cello), Avi (bass 2011-2017), and Matt (bass 2017-present). There are no extras, and the reason they look different is that some change their looks a lot, especially Mitch and Kirstin. Also, they're going to look different in the newer videos compared to the older ones. I believe where you saw only 4 perform was probably when you watched Aha Singapore. All 5 were actually there but Kevin was putting his cello away at the beginning, then joined them on stage. The person who was taking the video didn't show Kevin. They did do a couple videos in between Avi leaving and Matt joining, so I guess technically there were only 4 for a short while.😉
Kirstie, is a Mezzo Soprano.
Thanks for clearing this question up…I’ve watched Pentatonix for YEARS & what you see is what you get every time. No extras, just these five ❤️
I'm not religious at all but whenever I hear them sing this I have to sing along like my life depends on it lmao I love their harmony so much
They are PROOF of God!
There's a longing in everyone's spirit to connect to God. The Holy Spirit brings our spirit to life through Jesus Christ and connects us together with God the Father 💗
Some people are just not religious, but I have yet to see anyone not get spiritual when witnessing this performance. The video brings on a whole other level, but even just the sound alone gets people swept up.
Luckily, this song is not a religious song. It was written by Leonard Cohen about the end of a relationship. It does have biblical references but that’s ultimately not what it’s about. Pentatonix did a good version but the best version (Cohen thought so as well), is by K.D. Lang. There’s a beautiful, mournful quality to her voice. It’s definitely worth a listen.
@@AL-bv7jt Um.... it is religious. We can be sure of that because the guy who wrote it said so....
"The guy who looks like Jesus" . . . ."Mitch Slapped!" . . . . " I like how they are are dressed for a funeral" . . . . Your reaction is priceless! I am so glad you loved this and appreciate it.
Never get tired of the Mitch Slapped face and Jojo didn't disappoint!!!
"He sounds like an Angel, for real" truer words have never been spoken.
I love pentatonix but I love more that this dad is introducing his son to something beautiful. Clapping my hands for you dad!! You obviously are involved in his life and you are appreciated.
So the group started out as the 5 in this video, Scott, Mitch, Kirstin, Kevin, and Avi. They won the Sing-off and that's where their career started. They all performed and covered many songs together. A few years ago, Avi, the bass, left the group due to personal reasons so they got a replacement, Matt. Those 5 still continue to make music together and they are 6 of the most incredibly talented people in the world.
Love this - you two truly have a beautiful relationship. The love and respect between father and son was a joy to watch, and your son’s face should now be used as the definition of “Mitch-slapped” 😂
*”Angelic”* is the perfect description of Mitch’s voice. I had the same reaction when I first saw him singing! I’d only heard them sing at first and hadn’t seen a video…so I just assumed all the high parts were done by the girl in the group. Yeah-Mitch blew my mind too!🤣❤️
I have been watching your son for a while and have wondered about his parents. He is so bright, thoughtful and a delight to watch You should be so proud.. You are pretty good as well dad
That’s so nice of you. 🖤
Yes , a lovely lad ...I'd be so proud to have a son like that.
Agreed 💯
If we could hear angels sing, Pentatonix would sound the same
Their intertwined voices are their instruments, and they harmonize and hold their own levels. So fascinating!
Avi’s bass, especially in this song, gives me goosebumps every single time. So freaking good.
Jesus in a beanie 💖
Matt is amazing and so glad he joined, but Avi's bass is a Whole nother level.
him singing misty mountains is fantastic
@@LittleBrittixoye true i missed him in the Pentatonix...he is my all time favourite bass singer🥰
@@leifiliga9803 Avi Kaplan has his own CZcams channel and is still singing if you want to see him more!
I'm also sad he's not with PTX anymore, but love his voice regardless!
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this! Your joy in watching him discover the Mitch slap was amazing. Thank you!!
This music is like being in a dream when huge hands come down from the heavens, pick you up, cradle you in a rocking chair, kiss your forehead, just like you would do with a child. It’s very spiritually comforting.
Yes! Exactly. I can never just hear it once. I keep playing it.
For a song that makes me cry every single time (I sang it at my granpas funeral) watching this man share the joy and sadness of this version with his lad is just.. it melts my heart. Watching the young bloke come to understand what he is hearing in real time is just. Shit I don't have the words. But it's just amazing.
Your son was so mesmerised with Mitch’s voice, it was lovely seeing
Mitch Grassi is a Counter-tenor and sings 6 octaves higher that most people worldwide. It is a matter of record!!!
Your sons face was priceless, Van. Pentatonix is an amazingly talented group!
Man’s got Mitch slapped
When they perform this live, Kevin has a stomp pad to amplify his stomping sounds. But it's all him! 😊
There's only 5 of them. Avi was bass for 7 years but left in 2017 due to serious family illness & burn out from all the touring & recording schedules. They recorded, I think 2 videos, with just 4 of them and then Matt came in to take over the bass. That's the only member change they've had in 10 years! Kirsten & Mitch change their looks - hair color and style, etc - a lot, so sometimes people don't realize it's them, but it's always just the same 5.
Amazing, aren't they. 🥴 💞
Avi is the one that left his mother was sick
Avi was the "Jesus" which always makes me smile as he too is Jewish.
@@jonpates7209 , hear hear!
Your son reaction is priceless, he reacted with love in his heart, with the innocence of something angelic presented to him.
If you would do research the pentagram group is not godly in fact opposite. They are openly satanic. Look them up now
What is more beautiful and moving than a father making memories with his son?
I feel like I've invaded an intimate and sacred moment between dad and son. Thanks for sharing this with us guys. Blessings.
Pentatonix won “The Sing Off” 3rd season (2011?) They moved to LA, and were dropped from the record contract a week later. 🙄 They then went on CZcams and started posting videos and grew a huge following - 19M subscribers and counting ATM! Now they tour regularly, and have really come into their own! One other thing: Avi is the bass (low part, Jesus looking guy.) He was with them until 2017, and left for family reasons and started a solo career. He was replaced by Matt, who is different, but no less exceptional. That is the only change in the group in 10 years. So if you see people who look “unfamiliar” it’s probably Mitch (high male voice) or Kirstin (only female) who change their looks a LOT!
Your son’s face is priceless when Mitch starts singing! He’s officially been Mitch-slapped! And what I love about this group is that you can hear every note, from the lowest bass notes to the highest tenor notes. Home Free is an all male accapella group you should also check out
Everytime I hear this song I get chills all over and tears in my eyes. So powerful, like no other rendition I've heard.
These people are truly inspired by God himself. You cannot hear such beautiful music and deny that He exsists.
"and I like how they all dressed like they just left a funeral..." omg. killing me! 😂 😂 this was quite an entertaining reaction to watch! love it!
OMG Jojo's face when Mitch starts singing and Van's enthusiasm. I swear I enjoyed this song even more watching Van enjoy it. Somehow I could feel the song in HIS soul.
When your son said that Mitch sounds like an angel gave me chills, in a good way, that hit hard.
Favorite part of this is when you see how amazing Mitch is!! They’re all great but Mitch is next level in my opinion.
The dad's reaction from the very beginning is so full of joy it's fantastic
Again ,, dad getting his groove on and son being awestruck. The look on the son's face is awesome! I love y'all!!
I get good chill bumps everytime I hear Pentatonix sing this song.
I love watching Van in this almost as much as hearing the song. The joy and excitement on his face is addicting. 😊
Jojo is so thoughtful and kind. He's going places. As a mama I'm so glad to see such wonderful youth. Feel better soon young man.
His face when Mitch started singing, love it.
This group sends chills up my spine and tears down my cheeks. Just love them
Wow! They're just simply the BOMB! They deserve the 600 million views and more.
I love love love Dads reaction throughout the video. He has appreciation for music and art to another level! And his reaction to Mitch was identical to mine. We are soul related, my friend.
The only change to the group was the bass Avi( the wth the beard) who left in 2017 . By Christmas they got their new bass Matt . All other members are same since they started singing together as a group for the show "THE SING OFF" a compatition show for Acapella groups only. It started on NBC in 2009. PTX won the show in the 3rd season and Home Free won the 4th season. The show only had a two hour episode instead of a season 5 in 2014 which was the last one for this compatition.
I love the song and they do it the best. Always puts me in 🥲. Hallelujah.
Praise Jehovah praise God.
Don’t know how I never saw this reaction....I don’t know what was more beautiful to watch, Van’s PURE JOY and total surrender to the happiness and beauty the song exudes or Jojo’s face and his look of amazement. It was truly a beautiful moment seeing you both enjoy such a beautiful performance together and shows me that you both have a wonderful relationship with each other just by the way you both enjoyed the great feelings and the way this touches something in you. If you don’t enjoy this you have NO soul. Great reaction guys♥️
It never gets old when someone hears Mitch for the very first time. You really need to listen to them sing “Carol of the Bells” live!
Love watching both of you together, such a good relationship☺️ Also, thanks for showing me the Pentatonix. I fluffed them off as not “my type of music” and I’m a fool. Exquisite!
and if you want some WOW, listen to their version of Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) is downright incredible
@@steveeverett1736 also listen to sound of silence.
I just love the father’s reactions through the whole video, how much he appreciated their music, and the son’s reaction when Mitch started singing.
"He sounds like an Angel." Very profound.
Oh my goodness you two were mirror each other I see so much your movement and facial expressions. Thank you for seeing Fabulous family kinship. Beautiful.
"Hey they're pretty good." That was charming 😊. Dad's joy is so obvious 😊 Loved son's eyes when he heard Kirsten, and then he gave us the best Mitch-slap I've seen in a long time.
Awesome to see father and son being moved by such a beautiful song. Touched my heart and gave me hope. Thank you for sharing.
I’m late to the game here, but the pure joy and excitement you have for music and especially this band is beautiful. I love that you are showing your son your love for music.
By the way, the Pentatonix Christmas music is life.
*⏩ My goodness. What a nice-looking young man!*
Love Pentatonix... (and Jesus!) The best part, they are an accapella group, meaning ALL VOICES, no instruments.
*Pure TALENT!*
Spectacular reaction! Your son’s eyes are speaking 1000s different emotions!
There are few songs that hearing them make me cry but that's usually because of a memory of a time or person that's attached to the song, this one however invokes tears just from the sound of their voices. I'm in no way a religious person but this strikes something deep in the soul. I can't not cry within the first few notes. 😇😢
In the crescendo of the song, it’s like they take you OVER THE RAINBOW then slowly bring you back down to earth with their harmony into the hum giving you back your breath. Relax and felt that wonderful vibe!
U have the biggest best smile ever. Don’t stop. U make me realize I’m watching you with big dumb grin on my face. Thank you!
I’ve been a music lover for 74 years-- music has been the sum total of my life, and I’ve never seen or heard a performance by any singer or singing group that tops this version of Pentatonix singing “Hallelujah.” I have seen and watched EVERY reaction to people listening to this version, some multiple times because of their sincere reactions. I have to say this LFR Family’s reaction tops all sincere reactions except maybe that of Gabbsi Reactions. She “got it,” just as these guys do.
Seems to me I read that it was Leonard Cohen's favorite version too. (He wrote, and performed it himself.)
The harmony these individuals achieve is soul-touching. They have made some personnel changes since this video but they are still a fantastic group.
Yes. This song is amazing. It touches your SOUL!! It’s been one of my fav songs for a while now. Awesome to see other ppls reactions!!
Omigod you guys are adorable together! JoJo trying to listen, Van with the 'I know what's coming' grin on his face... this was great thanks guys have a great day 💕✌
And Van STILL got Mitch-slapped AGAIN! 🤣
That was fun! Now I want him to react to Daft Punk or the Evolution of Michael Jackson. 😁 PTX ALWAYS has five members. It’s named for the pentatonic scale (5 notes per octave). In the 10 years they have been a group, there has only been one member change. Avi left and Matt came on as the new bass. However Kirstie and Mitch love to change their looks and confuse people. The ‘trio’ (Scott, Mitch, and Kirstie have known each other and sung together since they were kids tho).
I am Glad that You explained the Pentatonic Scale. Now I Love Their Name, I struggled with How to Pronounce it, when I first heard Their Awesome Music, just a couple of months ago. I am a Fan For Life, Now!!!!! I Can NOT Get Enough of Pentatonix's Fab Music!!!!♥️
That thing that shake you. Literally the whole song
My God. This is one of the purest, most magical things I’ve ever seen. From your joyous smile throughout to literally watching the moment your son became transfixed…and ending with just this incredible moment of connection through powerful music.
I PROMISE when that Bass kicked in on the chorus, my eyes INSTANTLY watered up!!! Like you said, shakes you!! My soul FELT THAT!! LOVE THESE GUYS!!💖💖🎶🎶🎶 "He shook the tears outta my soul", would be an appropriate statement, lbvs
I love how much joy you get out of this song! One of my favorites!!
Also there are only 5 members to Pentatonix. Scott (blonde), Kirstie and Mitch all went to school together. Kevin (the beat boxer) is an original PTX, Avi left due to his mom being sick and their tour schedule was brutal. Avi helped them find Matt to replace him. Avi has his own career now, he tours as well as teaches in a music school he co-founded. Pentaholics are usually quickly hooked for PTX. And I love watching people when they get "Mitch Slapped". My first song that I heard was "Mary do you know". I was hooked!!
Man, I have watched a lot of reaction videos. And I loved this one! Many are two people watching for the first time. Having someone with pentatonix experience makes it so much better. Because you know and can point out things people don't catch the first time.
They blend perfectly.
Have you seen todays Pentatonix TikTok? Mitch reacting to JoJo. So cool!
Your son has been Mitch-slapped into shock! What a priceless reaction and the dad is so pleased with the result! Love it
You’re both adorable. Especially you, Dad. This video put a smile on my face. Thank you both.
I saw this when it came out, but decided to watch again today. I love the joy Van gets from sharing PTX with his son.
Actually, only 1 has changed. Mitch, Kirsten, Scott and Kevin have always been there. Avi, the basso profondo left. His replacement is named Matt. He joined in late 2017. Kevin is the beatboxer. He also sings, plays the cello, saxophone, and other instruments. He's masterful! They all are! I'm a Pentaholic and a Homefry!
What I think helped the transition was Avi either helped them find Matt or even suggested Matt. The main thing was it was amicable, which I love.
Please can somebody tell me why did Avi leave the group?
@@shanonwilson2900 the touring schedule was taking him from his family too much for his liking. So he helped them find Matt.
You really should listen to their version of Imagine...the John Lennon cover......it is beyond powerful. Now if you want some fun upbeat try their Can't Hold Us, Problem, Cheerleader or Sing
Way to happy setting him up like that bro this is my favorite reaction to this song😂😂👍👍
The original three have know each other since grade school, in Arlington Texas they were in the Martin high school choir together, they sang all the time where ever they went, shopping to get some lunch where ever.
Fantastic reaction! Each could have solo careers & together they are a force to be reckoned with! As they step into their 2nd decade together they are experimenting with their sound. Scott (tall blond) commented on it in concert saying “Progress, I know!” when I saw them live Dec. 2021.
Congrats on 100K JoJo!! I’ll have to check out your channel! Kevin (the beatboxer) uses a stomp pad in live performances to amplify the sound. If you watch their live Christmas special of this song it sounds the same! It is seriously amazing. P.S. You totally got Mitch slapped!!! Loved it!!!! If you react to Pentatonix I’d love to follow your journey on your channel!
🖤🖤🖤😏 Mitch slapped the hell out of em!
@@LFRFAMILY HAHAHA!!!! He got Mitch PUNCHED! 😂🤣
They make you want to sing, they knock this song out of the park. Great job!!
They are using all parts needed to harmonize using just there voices 🙌❤️🎶
That was a FANTASTIC Mitch-slap on your son! Thanks for the reaction. Your son seems like a great kid, thanks for sharing him with us. 💚
Yo his son’s facial expressions are killing me lol
Fathers are to teach... sons are to learn. Human being are on our righ way when good things, good values, are on that relationship.
I cannot take my eyes of Dad and his expressions of pure enjoyment.
Exactly!!! It doesn't get more ANGELIC than this! ! ! What an inspirational gift to share with the world. 😇
I feel closer to God each time I hear their angelic voices.
Your lad just Had His First Mitch Slap 😂😂😂. By the look 👀 on his face. 😂😂🙏🤷♀️🇬🇧❤️🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️🥰
This song always brings me to tears. This is one of the best renditions I've ever heard. Thank you so much for bringing this band to my attention ❤️ Also, I loved watching your son getting into it. Best of luck to you and your family.
