Through the whole chapter I was thinking "spider boss, cool" then, as I was sucked into the boss stage, I was thinking "I wonder what the song is, it's gotta be something spider related... what if..."

And then I had the biggest smile plastered on my face all throughout the boss.

Toby Fox has no issue with people remixing his songs, so that would be an unlikely reason. It would probably be more like it was cut due to pacing.

@@JameyMcQueen these songs hadn’t been selected before they scrapped the chapter, and I’m pretty sure I heard they were going to be completely different at one point. So copyright isn’t the reason these levels were originally scrapped, it was because it wasn’t up to the devs’ standards if I remember correctly. Weird reason but I’m pretty sure that’s why

I did my research, and there's more evidence that suggests the chapter was cut due to time constraints. Yeah, there's a couple sources that say it was cut due to it not being up to the devs' standards (one being the wiki), but I can't find anything that proves that.

That quote is from Lachhh on Twitter, but that doesn't really sound like "standards", it sounds like they chose not to pack too much into one game, as this chapter would've made the others suffer, which is why I said "pacing" instead of "time constraints".

I still can't get over the fact that Just Shapes and Beats managed to incorporate an Undertale song as a boss stage in such a fitting way. Hearing Muffet's laugh at the start was only the beginning, nothing could've prepared me for this finale!

It does make sense to use a song from Undertale here, both games have fairly similar "defense" mechanics, where you (or a small shape that represents you) has to avoid dangerous themed "bullets" which occur at a predetermined time and place, requiring a lot of precision for both games.
Anyway, this is excellent, to say the least! The remix matches JSAB's 'feel', whilst staying quite true to the original.

When I heard the spider laugh after you hit the triangle out of its legs I immediately heard Muffet Laugh but just left it to my imagination (I didn’t rewind cause I was watching a stream). But when I saw Spooder Dance, I had a grin from ear to ear.
When my brother played lost chapter and I heard muffets laugh I thought it was funny but me and my brother were hype playing spider dance

maybe the original track was barracuda, because the boss portal for the lost chapter is triangular and was created from the treeangles, and it would give an explanation for barracuda's existence

1:17 i liked the spider in the corner holding up the sign, its a neat reference to the actual muffet fight, where spiders held up signs that told what the next attack was, very nice!

Listen, you and the JSAB team are one of the best people out there, you guys are doing gods work. Coders found a hidden chapter that wasn’t finished for release, and you ended up finishing it! Thanks for that. I just really would have loved it if it was added to story itself instead of being a bonus chapter, but still. Everything else is just SO ON POINT. I really loved the part with in the end where it shows how The Boss got under that ground.

It's not just a box with a heart, the heart gives a preview of how the boss is going to move in the next phase. Similar to the function "preview spiders" had in Undertale.

I was expecting a spider based song cause of the amount of spiders in the level, but as soon as I read "Spider Dance" the Undertale fan in me just literally exploded with happiness.

As one of those fans, I can say that the update was nice but please dear god stop comparing rhythm hells and normal bullet hells. Undertale and JSaB are fairly different in their own right.

i mean, as a fan of both JSaB *and* UT, i'm honestly thrilled that they did this because it's an amazing song *and* boss (also low-key grateful that the crossover song wasn't Megalovania, which although a great song is frankly overrated).
I died right at the end of the song on my first attempt and I wasn't even mad because I could experience that again. that's when you know you have done a great job

Just finished the lost chapter and I gotta say the moment I saw spider dance and heard the beginning of the song I lost it, this was an amazing update, great work shirobon
I didint get to enjoy it because I was playing it with my friend while talking on the phone its been awhile so I decided to restart the game to get my bearings and he spoiled it for me I felt so depressed I loved undertale and then the sadness so. I just quit playing the game :(

and i loved every second of it
Held off from watching gameplay of this, even though I didn't know when I would get around to playing it. Today I played it for the first time, and good lord I am tankful that I restrained myself from watching the gameplay. This is one of the absolute coolest levels in the game, I was blown away.

I have this weird idea for a boss fight. During said boss fight, you’ll see that you’re nearly finished tin the progress bar, and suddenly, the boss’s head appears, and has a big grin on its face, both of its hands appears in the screen, goes to the progress bar, and stretches it to make the battle longer.
