    Hi Shel, Andrea (she sent me the link) told me about your talcum resist prints and I just finished that vid before this one. I am getting stuff together for my upcoming gel print day. I bought deli paper from your link and am excited to use these 2 techniques and more. These are so cool though it was a little hard to see the halos from the vid. I have 6 different colors of pebeo iridescent paints (if they still are good as I got them years ago-but they are probably fine as they're in tubes.) and I plan to use them among my acrylics. I have made many prints with them and they always add greatly to the print. It's fun to see that you frequently use them too. You use ypour results in so many different ways too and I love that. Thank you. XOXOJane

    Wow, this is so cool! I'm wondering, if on the print with the white on the bottom, would black have worked as the neutral pick up color? I cant wait to try this,thanks for sharing your new invention :)

    @bonniekitt1 Před 6 lety

    Very nice. I’ve done lots of that without thinking what I was doing. I like the results. I just got the 12x12 Gel plate and noticed that you seem to have it on some sort of lucite. Is that correct? If so, where did get it if I may ask?

    • @ShelCPaperOcotilloStudio
      @ShelCPaperOcotilloStudio  Před 6 lety

      Thank you Bonnie :) I bought a large piece of acetate used for replacing window panes at the home store and cut it up into the sizes I needed for all my plates. I just used a regular saw so some turned out a bit wonky LOL. If you want then perfect and polished Joggles.com makes mounts up to 9X11 size. Not sure if they have a 12X12 though.

    Cool prints! How do I get the dark paint to stay on the plate under the stencil and not be lifted off when I remove the stencil? It only leaves a halo effect.

    • @ShelCPaperOcotilloStudio
      @ShelCPaperOcotilloStudio  Před 6 lety +1

      In my experience you need a pretty viscous acrylic for the under layer. A heavy body or medium body with a good amount of squishyness (not a word..I know) Also, work fairly quickly. I have had the under paint dry to fast and stick to the stencil before as well. Just keep trying different paints and practicing until you find the right combo :)

    • @nenatirkkonen1659
      @nenatirkkonen1659 Před 6 lety +1

    A bit hard to follow. Given the number of "should haves" and mistakes, I would recommend editing the video. Why call it brights with darks when a light colored neutral is used to cover them? Bright colors and rather meh. No
