steve backshall? more like... steve ballsack
Once I was on a hike and thought I saw Steve Backshall walk past me. I kept walking for a while before I decided I had to see if it was him and say hi. I ran back on myself for about a mile before I reached the guy. It wasn't Steve Backshall but I guess I learned that day that I'd run a mile to meet him if I could.
That is one entertaining story đ
The cockroach had the same story for his mates when he got home
They should turn this into a film
đđđ
â@@singerpour6946 they did, Forrest Gump đ
deadly 60 was a legendary show, glad you had an episode with steve
â€
â€
Think I've still got one of the books they did
deadly 60 was so sick
â @@wallythewondercorncake8657same!
When Steve Irwin passed, I turned to Steve Backshall, when I was a kid, to keep up my interest in nature and animals. I was obsessed with the program Deadly 60!
I used to watch this guy on Deadly 60 almost everyday, massive part of my childhood
Me too! Made me feel so old the nostalgia is amazing
Same
steve backshall was the reason i got bitten by an adder at thirteen years old and had to lie to my family and multiple local news sites about the origin of my bite. turns out that picking up snakes isn't actually as easy as he always made it look. legend.
đ
LOVE this story omg đđđ
What did you tell them?
I couldn't believe this was true and I googled it. It's true! đ€Ł
âThis is a blue tongued skink. Heâs called that because he has a blue tongue, and heâs a skink.â Idk why but I laughed so hard at that đ
In Dutch a unicorn is literally just called a "one horn". Ik if you break down the English word it means that too, but at least we put some effort into it.
In the reptile keeper world they're known as potato loool they're a very potatoish lizard lol
@@sambelinakelly6439A very adorable potato. Skinks are cool little lizards.
@@Enraged-Gecko they're ace x
I love this guy man, happy you did a video on him. Was my childhood watching Deadly 60
Love this. I grew up watching deadly 60 and very nearly went to Bangor University in Wales to do a degree on zoology with a focus in primatology, where steve backshall would have been one of the lecturers
I love orangutans! what did you do at alevels
@@portaldolphin13 I did psychology, maths and Btec science
What stopped you from going?
I very nearly did too. In fact, you could say I very nearly did loads of stuff.
Iâm a student at Bangor currently studying zoology with primatology. Iâd really recommend it if you get the chance :)
i remember watching him on a cbbc show called deadly 60. so fascinating to see all the awesome creatures and a great influence when I was younger.
Couldnât click on this fast enough. Absolutely fascinating!
That transition from him talking about how sad it is that an animal will be extinct soon to Tim Peake talking about farting in space is wild
Steve "the legend" backshall.....love this guy đ
No one can replace Steve Irwin but Steve is just as lovely of a bloke with a huge passion just the same for wildlife.
Love this guy, Could listen to him all day. A true Gent.
I've never known someone's voice could be considered nostalgic, this man is such a wonderful person for revealing to young people how brilliant the natural world is. Thank you for making me a nature nerd, Steve.
Loved his appearance on "would I lie to you?", and on a side note, never realized the man was a brick house!
Had the pleasure of meeting steve when i was a kid on the Isles of Scilly. I loved deadly 60 growing up and word spread around the island so fast that he was there filming something.
From memory he was clearly in the middle of something, but he still took the time to stop what he was doing to take a picture with us. I was probably 9 then and i'm 24 now and still remember how kind he was to this day.
Melts my heart that Iâm still watching Steve teach me about animals. Thank you for this.
He has such an engaging & magnetic personality. what he has done to raise the awareness of wild animals around the world is an important community service.
Surely a Steve Backshall should have 60 million views
Steve Backshall is an absolute legend! Seems like the nicest bloke you could ever meet đ„ș
Love your unique style, never change!
Please do another one of these, brilliant video đđ»
Fair play to Steve for managing to keep his top on this whole video. Every time heâs on tv heâll whip the pecs out at the first opportunity.

I always used to watch him when I came back from school, what a legend.
Love Steve Backshall!! What a legend!

Steve Backshall. What a bloke! Good to see he's still doing well.
I met Steve while i was on holiday 2 years ago. He stepped off a wildlife watching boat while i was kayaking around. I thought he looked like Steve but i had no idea it was really him. We met him in the pub later that evening, him, his wife, and his kids. As youd imagine, they were all lovely.
This man was my childhood đ
Best episode yet!!!
Knowledgeable and personable. Good work, Steve!
I love Steve Backshall. Could listen to him all day!
I just got a job as an animal presenter! Iâm currently being trained in animal handling and Iâm loving it so far. I get so giddy that I get to work with animals everydayđ„Čđ

Always loved this guy.
So good I watched twice & am left wanting more. Could you bring this fella back again?
I still remember watching the bullet ant ritual.. I was maybe 14 or 15 at the time and absolutely adored Steve for his animal related stuff.
But that ritual was a different playground, I thought to myself "na, Steve's got this". T'was madness to see! Much love everyone.
Used to watch this guy non stop as a kid proper throwback
How can you not love this man
This guy was literally my childhood. I used to watch him all the time on deadly 60.

The video we didn't know we needed that WE NEEDED
I'm 43 and love this dude
Here's a key for remembering how to react to a bear encounter:
If it's black, fight back
If it's brown, lie down
If it's white, say goodnight
Oh yeah!! I love this guy.. đđ»
Fascinating!
What an interesting guy, thoroughly enjoyed this â€
Was absolutely obsessed with deadly 60 when I was younger, what an absolute legend!
Backshall is really entertaining. He's a great go between, between Steve Irwin and someone like Attenborough. He gives enough detail to keep an adult's attention and is enthusiastic enough to keep kids entertained too.
The best video to show your kids about the animal kingdom.
Great scoop LADbible. Steve Backshall is amazing đ
Soo interesting!
wow! I'd watch Deadly 60 before school in the mornings...Steven Backshall is such an eloquent and empathetic man, I wish him and his family nothing but the best.
Awesome interview
I love Steve, and used to love watching Deadly 60 with my daughters! We also share the same birthday! :-)
Steve is my fave wildlife presenter after Sir David Attenborough. Loved the croc programme Steve did when he was starstruck when he met Henry the massive croc. I think it's the same one linked in the description box, well worth checking out.
I watched Steve Backshall since I was about 15 and I have to say he is a idol of mine. Steve seems like the most likeable bloke in the world, he does seem like a top human being and for me the guy Iâd choose after Attenborough as my fav wildlife guru.
Love the Bite Back shirt!!!
Britain's answer to Steve Irwin love hearing from backshall
Iâm from America and have sadly never heard of this man until now. Thank you for this video. Going to see if I can find episodes of Deadly 60 now. đđŒ
Such a cool guy, hope we can see him again.
serious legend
This guy is a legend!
Steve Backshall was such a big part of my childhood, alongside David Attenborough and Chris Peckham
Steve Backshall is GOATED
Steve is awesome
I was amazed when he showed the 'leftover' legs on that snake
Steve backshall is one of my childhood heroes and Iâm sure Iâm not only one legend
I'm only 11 minutes in and I'm fixated. Love science and nature
What a gem of a man his parents must be proud
Steve Backshall, thank you for years of science communication! We are all better for it.
Lol the girls thinking the ritual is stupid and avoiding it altogether and the boys going through that for no reason. Well not no reason but yk what i mean
Brilliant
What an OG
The thought of a black mamba running at you like a basilisk lizard is nightmare fuel.
Definitely had a crush on him when I was a teen watching his shows đ
Having said that, no disrespect to you at all. Your knowledge and experience is incredible. Love the program. Just inviting you to check out other info as well đ
legend!
Awww I love skinks
Grew up watching as many have watching deadly 60, I once see Steve in the south American jungle, he'd got a wandering spider on his leg đ I went out and purchased one a red fang wandering spider and I've purchased centipede after watching Steve, also I have a tarantula collection of old world species and new world species, over 22 at the moment đđ·đ·đ·
Loved deadly 60 when I was a kid!
Deadly 50 wasn't it?. Loved the Baja Tarantula wasp.
@@twt000 nah deadly 60. Yeah that episode was nuts!
Top class wildlife man him 100 a og
âThis is a blue tongued skink and he got that name because heâs got a blue tongue and heâs a skinkâ
đđđ
I was in a taxi in London once and the driver said he had Steve in his cab once and heâs a really nice bloke. Absolutely ripped too đ
Used to love deadly 60 (still do)
Id be happy for Steve to tale up David Attenboroughs mantel when the time comes. Lovely guy
I went to the Austrian Alps with the scouts in like 2011 or something maybe, and we went to a glacier that we couldn't even see from the viewing point where as the year before it was like right next to the view point.
Also Ants Canada on CZcams had a female praying mantis that ate the male and it was grim.
Also with the scouts I got chased across a field by a herd of cows, was nuts
Love this guy!! He's married to an Olympic rower.â€â€â€
What a man
omg thatâs the python yoink guy is looking for!!!!!
this guy was my childhood, was 9 when deadly 60 aired im 24 nowđą
I watched Steve all the time growing up on multiple different shows, what a legend... I'm 28 now and he was in great shape when I was a kid and he's in better shape than I am at 28 still, what a guy
That roach looked rather classy.â€
