    OMG thank you for this. I was so frustrated as I couldn't get this hooked up right to save my life. I have a ThinkPad with a ThinkPad Docking Station. So for the right screen. I had to take my power cable from my docking station and plug it in the middle slot on the right screen and plug the USB TO USB-C to the left side of my laptop to the top slot on right screen. Left screen plugs directly into my laptop. Power is in the middle slot and my screen is in the bottom slot. I was almost ready to send this back as I didn't think my stuff was compatible. Thank you so much, this was AWESOME.

    • @techfulgoodies
      @techfulgoodies  Před měsícem

      I think that when you plug the power into the screen that is plugged in with USB-C, the monitor thinks you want to use HDMI on that screen. The power should only be plugged into the screen that has the HDMI cord plugged into it.

    • @techfulgoodies

      I think so - in essence both monitors are stand alone monitors so if you want to use HDMI + USB-A for one of them and then hook another device up to the other monitor using USB-C, you can do so.

    I have a HP computer, which has 3 USB-A ports, and a HDMI port, but no USB-C port.
    I bought a triple screen monitor, but only ONE screen works, which was a huge disappointment because it is too late to return it to Amazon now, so I was told to buy a Plugable 11-in-1 Thunderbolt 4 Docking Station with 100W (Amazon), but this thing costs more than the triple screen. Therefore, would a GiGimundo 100W 5A Charging USB 4 Cable with 40Gbps and 8K 60Hz Video Output (Amazon), work with my computer, and help display the second screen? Should I buy the GiGimundo cable? • @techfulgoodies
      @techfulgoodies  Před 7 měsíci

      The critical part to consider is that HDMI carries a video signal and so do specific USB-C ports. You "May" be able to buy a docking station with 2 HDMI ports but those usually have to plug into a USB-C port that supports video out.

    • @techfulgoodies
      @techfulgoodies  Před 4 měsíci

      I'm just guessing for your situation but you need the switch dock, and hook it up to the monitor via HDMI. BUT, you need to power the monitor also because HDMI doesn't carry enough power for the monitor so there should be an extra cable to power the monitor - so two cables hooked up in total.

    • @techfulgoodies
      @techfulgoodies  Před 14 dny

      The only thing I can think is that once both are plugged in, there isn't enough power to power both. Perhaps you can try to power the HDMI monitor with a wall brick rather than using the USBA from the computer? That's my best guess.

      Just fine - do wish the "clamps" that keep it attached to my laptop screen were a bit bigger as it can tend to not stay attached but still working just fine.

      That would seem that the USB-C port only supports data and charging but not video. Can you verify that the USB-C is a full featured USB port that supports video. There should be a lightning or some other symbol next to the USB-C port.

    I got this product in today, but I am having trouble conecting to my laptop. it gets power on, but nothing display on any of them Screens. so they go into sleep mode, just black screens. I have a HP Spectre x360 - 15-ap062nr. Could it be that this laptop is not compatible for this device?

    • @techfulgoodies
      @techfulgoodies  Před 2 měsíci +1

      You need to have a thunderbolt port OR a full featured usb-c port with video out capability. I looked at the specs and it doesn't look like that model supports usb-c video out. You may need to use the HDMI ports to run the monitors.

      If you are on Windows, you have to go into display properties and move the windows around so the proper display is on the left and on the right. www.cedarville.edu/insights/computer-help/post/dual-screen-setup-for-desktop-computer-monitors
