    Great video - you communicate lots of information.
    I think that comes from knowing your subject.

      I have a double carbon GP15 with FES and a GP Racer fuselage. I disagree with you about landing. I find it one of my easier planes to land. In your video you show your landing flap at about 40 degrees, but later on the flaps go down almost 90 degrees. This is how I have mine and it makes a huge difference. Also I suggest you try having the ailerons on the inboard flaps only work when you move the aileron stick above half travel. It means you get full ailerons when you need it, but most of the time only the ailerons move. I also have a 3.8m Skywalker, so look forward to your review of it.

    Hello! You've done a real service for people like me that are interested in purchasing this model. I'm sold on the Jetec 80 install that's offered by Baudis. I noticed that you did not include landing gear in your model. May I ask why?

    • @rcaviationadventures7698
      @rcaviationadventures7698  Před rokem +1

      Sorry for not replying sooner! I only fly from slope, not flat field, so there was no need to add the extra weight for me. If I were aero towing or launching and landing from flat fields I'd have included the gear.

    OP, I hope you're alive and well since this is the last video you've uploaded. I was wondering what sort of problems you encountered with the idea of mounting the ESC to the forward part of the bulkhead/jetec 80? One other question...does the size of the opening for the Jetec concern you as a point of structural failure?

    • @rcaviationadventures7698
      @rcaviationadventures7698  Před 4 měsíci

      Hi there. I've not had any issues at all. The ESC is mounted to the side of the fuselage, behind the bulkhead. Cooling seems fine and the Jetec retracts with a small amount of clearance between the fan casing and the top of the ESC. I can see how the size of the opening could be a structural concern, but again, I've not had any problems with this. I have only had one 'heavier' landing and I did not have an issue - thankfully! Saying that, a buddy of mine did have a bad landing that caused a small fracture behind the fan opening. There was more damage to other parts of the model so I would not say the opening is any more vulnerable than any other part of the airframe. Overall I find the build quality to be superb. I hope this helps!

    Dear, I'm not confident in my English... If I understand well, according to what you have said the GP Racer is closed to the Skywalker 3.8? I own a SW and was interested in the GP Racer... If you can confirm that the performance of these 2 gliders are very similar? Thank you for your video

      Hi there, thanks for the comment. I've flown the GP Racer for a while now it has quickly become my favourite glider. The 3.8 Skywalker is fantastic but the Racer can fly in much calmer conditions and finds lift very well. The GP Racer wing seem is a little more suited to finding thermals and I would say is more efficient than the Skywalker. I tend to fly the Skywalker in stronger winds now, and the GP Racer for pretty much everything else. I still love them both, but the Racer really suits my flying style. It's a superb glider. I now fly the Racer more than any other model I have, but I prefer to fly in calmer conditions where the lift is a little more scarce. I hope this helps.

    Hi, awesome video. Can you please share what ESC did you use?

    • @rcaviationadventures7698
      @rcaviationadventures7698  Před 4 měsíci

      Thanks. I use a Jeti Mezon 160 Lite with the Jetec. It pulls about 140A with the throttle wide open. The ESC runs into a Jeti DSM ESC with a Jeti Power-ion RB 3100 to provide some battery redundancy 👍

    Your mix of roll with the flaps seems too excessive. On the full size it is about 40% mix and works well on my 6m ASH 26. Very nice model.

    If you do your wiring like this the wires of the motor will brake in short time because they are not flexibel, also if the wire move at the soldering point of the esc it will break also - this is dangerous - please dont do it like this

    • @rcaviationadventures7698
      @rcaviationadventures7698  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for the comment. I really had trouble with the wiring because they leads are not long at all. I'd love to see how others do it. Maybe the leads need extending a bit, but I am reluctant to do so.
