  • Went out for Fluke in the morning and stayed for the Black Seabass in the afternoon for both half day trips aboard the Jamaica II.
Water tempts were still a bit low, had too much wind later on, but managed to jig up my 1st keeper of the year.
The afternoon trip was better as those lower tempts had the Seabass biting and we caught plenty of keepers on bait!

A very nice sea robin. My dad always looked at them as nuisance fish but they taste really good.

Do sea bass taste better when you bleed them

I think it makes a gran differencein taste with the Seabass, it def makes a difference with bluefish or striper. I still bleed my seabass for preservation, they keep better bled out. As a general rule I will always to try to bleed out all my fish for that reason alone.
