It’s amazing the power one album can have. Most of the crowd weren’t even born when it was released. Powerful stuff.
They all look as if they were teenagers in 1977. There are a few young ones but most look exactly the same age as the Pistols.

I saw them in Melbourne Australia in 1996,I will never forget it ,I was searched for weapons as i entered there were bikies ,gangster looking dudes.Then after the back up band was finished and they came on ,I will never forget the raw energy and fighting that was going on around me, but it never bothered me as I just felt part of the crowd strangely,The Sex Pistols just brought everybody together.
Never mind the BOLLOCKS, one of the greatest albums of all time!!!

The one album is whole fucking point. They were never going to have a gatefold now were they. The Clash made music. The Pistols made hist-or-eee.
The first punk band to release an album was The Damned. They also released the first punk single. The Damned were kicked off the Anarchy in The UK Tour because as Malcolm McLaren stated "The Damned were far better musicians than the Sex Pistols"
Yea and the Sex Pistols also put Richard Branson on the map of fortunes with Virgin Records. He admits that and praises them on a regular basis.

Listening to the Pistols changed my life back in the 80s when I got interested in music and they still have.
Steve Jones is a brilliant guitarist by the way not only for the punk being.

His guitar is so much the critical element sonically of the Pistols. That “Panzer Division” power. Not fancy or schooled but powerful. The solos and fills he came up with were so spot on. For a “guy who couldn’t play” he came up with great guitar riffs.

For only having one album the Pistols cemented themselves in punk history and got everyone singing along decades later. Most bands only wish they had that kind of shake of luck. Johnny rocks

From the states: we very much dig the UK. I saw the Pistols on some award show in 75 and me buds were blown away. We did not know that this UK band birthed Punk Rock.
So thankful for bands like the Sex Pistols, The Ramones, and The Damned who took the path less traveled and brought us a new era of music. It opened a lot of doors to music creation.
Still an amazing song even after all these years! Certainly in the top five of all time greatest ever rock songs.

This should have been re-released for the 70th anniversary. Like I said a year ago, this remains so relevant today. Instead of all the pomp and crap of waving plastic flags and street parties just listen to this people of the UK. Brilliant, just brilliant. Thank God for the pistols.

Easily the best Pistols song. It cut like a knife, deeply into a flawed and corrupt establishment in its time, and still holds up today!
Music should reflect society as much as just having a good time. this song, without doubt, reflected a society then and does so now. In my view, it's the best song ever written by the best band ever. Music is about a feeling, a viewpoint, a movement, a thought. This does that.
What I wouldn’t give to see this live! The raw energy and unpretentious spirit of this rock ’n’ roll band!
They need to come back in June for the 40th Anniversary in 2017

When I say that Chris Bailey is one of the most important people in our Australian Music History, that is a massive understatement.
Today's news of his passing is like losing a family member.
I'm shattered and devastated.
Chris came into my life in 1976, when I was supposed to be doing school homework.
Listening to Sydney's JJ 1540am radio ( thanks to the Gough Whitlam government ) I heard (I'm ) Stranded by THE SAINTS.
IT STILL RANKS AS ONE OF THE BEST SOUNDS I'VE EVER HEARD IN MY 61 YEARS ON THE PLANET.
(I'm ) Stranded by THE SAINTS was released before New Rose.
Chris Bailey was extremely intelligent with an acidic wit, not many, if any, could match him.
From reports I've heard, Chris was kind, warm, sincere and generous.
A beautiful spirit gone way too young.
I think he had a great time whilst he was here on Earth.
Not many people can do what he did.
He was a Punk Pioneer without even trying or even knowing that's what he was doing.
Condolences to his family, friends, all his bandmates and his legions of fans and supporters
