- I've always wanted a screen acurate Darth Vader Helmet for my collection, but they are very hard to come by. Most are so expensive that they are far out of reach. But now EFX has created a Darth Vader Helmet that is not only screen acurate, it was made from the very mold used by the one in the filming of Star Wars A New Hope! Not to mention that you can get it for much much less than you think. Let's Go!

I have this helmet. It says "Do not wear for protection" meaning do not use it as safety helmet e.g for head protection. They don't mean not to wear it. You can make it a bit more glossy with WD40.
Who'd have thought back then that we'd be able to just buy an accurate, beautiful Vader helmet for a reasonable price? Incredible times guys. :)

I'm stoked! They were all sold out at my favorite outlets, Sideshow, Entertainment Earth, Big Bad Toy Store, etc, so I had to go through the trusty eBay market and I bought a new one for $504 (with tax) which kind of broke my bank a little, but I'm glad I found one from this new 2023 release batch and I guess I lucked out because I've been looking for this since I first heard about it being on the market and I SHOULD get it next week! (12/7/23) Wish me luck that it's not damaged by UPS, lol.

Also, I think the ‘Do Not Wear for Protection’ caution means to not use it as a protective helmet, as it’s not designed for that use. 😊

I bought mine about 4 years ago for $230 on eBay. Great helmet to have without breaking the bank. All I need now is a Don Post deluxe helmet to complete my collection.

I wish someone would make a ROTS style helmet. Those Master Replicas versions are quite expensive and hard to find, and most in less than stellar condition.

Been eyeing this one for a bit but space is an issue. $350 for this is a steal, looks absolutely phenomenal and the fact it has direct lineage is fantastic. I would get a Boba Fett helmet from the archives, but realistically I'd prefer it stay there instead of selfishly taking it for myself. The archive is basically a museum and not one person should have those originals.
Ah that is a very Jedi thing to do lol. I respect that though. The Boba Fett helmet would be hard to pass up for me. I walk the grey side of the force lol.

When dealing with Efx, caveat emptor is the motto one needs to follow. Yes, I was part of the Scout Trooper fiasco. I was recently told they were squaring things away. If there were only true. I got a hold of them, and after providing even the order number from 2015, "oh sorry we don't have any records of that." So I sent them the email. Oh well...too bad we don't have any records. SO...despite giving them another try as I was asked to do, it was business as usual.
That all said, I'm glad you were able to actually receive your order. Looks like they did mod the dome attachment from the original as the large circular area where the dome attaches to the facemask was not part of the original helm. However, due to how it needs to really stay on, especially for trooping, that can be overlooked.
Hey Dude, found your channel looking for Sabine Wren saber reviews….I was lucky enough to pick one of these Vader Helmets up during the original release but passed on the more expensive one that came with a stand. I bought a stainless paper towel holder just like the one you have but I also purchased a black canvas “wig makers mannequin head” from amazon and mounted it on the stainless holder, it works perfectly and the helmet doesn’t slide from side to side as it was doing while you were filming.

Great unboxing and review as always! Does anyone know what (if any) differences there are in materials/build quality between this and the "Limited" and "Legend" versions of the Vader ANH helmet from EFX? Those are selling well north of $1k, and this seems like a way better deal.
I'm not 100% sure but I think the Limited and Legend are both fiberglass, however the Legend has hand-painted brush strokes and a C-scar to look almost exactly like the screen-used/real prop while the Limited has the idealized paintjob like this plastic one.
I recently purchased the helmet, really for a display, but like you I had to try it on. Besides the obvious need for proper padding for comfort, the helmet has great straps that can be adjusted for a better fit as you show in your video, but you loosened the strap before putting it on and never adjusted the strap to get a secure fit. Of course it would seem too large, I mean it was patterned from a mold of David Prowse's head. Thanks so much for another great video.
I know lol. I met the guy who plays Vader in Rogue One. Holy crap is that guy big. He made me look like a 1/2 scale figure lol. So I can only imagine the size of Prowse. But I can't help to try to put it on. I think every Star Wars kid wants to know what its like to be behind the mask. Thanks for watching Brian!

Put some sponge padding inside the top of the helmet and a tennis ball (cut a x on top and slide over) and it will fit your paper towel holder perfectly 😎👍

Thank you! The cap in this video I got at Sideshow. But I have three hats. 2 are a gun metal sigil on black. I got those at Super Hero Stuff and this Bronze colored one at Sideshow.

Saying it was made from the very mold used to create the original is misleading. EFX has their own injection molding process for making ABS helmets. The studio molds would never hold up to the thousand pulls or so to make these helmets. "Master patterns created from the original molds made from a screen used helmet made by Rick Baker in 1977 that are in the Lucasfilm archives" So it is a copy of another copy. Essentially a mold was made of an original helmet. EFX pulled a copy from THAT mold, then created new masters from their copy. IE... not the original mold.
For 300 bucks I think The Hasbro one is a better deal
That is one ugly helmet. The only thing it has going for it is the fact that it comes apart like in the movie.

i can get it for $270 is it worth it ? ill grab the most expensive stuff...orig.vader suit or steal the disney contract and sell it back to lucas
