Согласен 😊
Tarhun's tarragon flavouring is very similar to vanilla. Like most carbonated beverages, it needs to be poured on ice to cut the excessive sugar.
I bought it at Yummy Market and tried it a month ago.
I love vanilla, so Tarhun must be awesome if tarragon is similar to vanilla.
Kvas is a small-beer, where as "root beer" is imitation Sarsaparilla. Kvas tastes bready, and varying degrees of sweet and refreshingly tart.
Buratino was a lemonade, much like western lemonade. Lemons were only available seasonally so production was limited.
Baikal was actually a response to Coca-Cola. But the development team actually took time to find ingredients with health benefits. So Baikal doesn't taste like cola at all, but more like "Moxie", a herbal soft drink popular in Main. The health benefits are negligible, but it was promoted as a drink for sports and physical excertion.
Tarhun is a bright green Georgian variant, being made primarily of Tarragon. I've never tasted it myself.
DRINK LIKE SOVIET ✊
Yep with neat alcohol from the radiator of a supersonic jet. (This is actually true.) 😂😎👍
Use the Sovirn masure not the white masure
Sayuz Nerushimy Respublik Svobodnyks. 😃
In America, alcohol give you liver cancer kill you. In Soviet Union, soviet find and kill dirty liver cancer and drink anyway because fuck liver cancer 🇷🇺🪆
The way he said that sounds more like a demand than a statement.
Thank you for these videos! As a lover of history, a world traveler, and culture, this is so interesting to me to see soft drinks I’ve never heard of👍🏾 This is the beauty of travel and seeing how other people live in different countries☺️🙏🏾🇺🇸🇷🇺
Квас, буратино, байкал и тархун. Это не может быть лучше, чем это.
Thanks!
Wow
Now I want to buy all these drinks and try them.
Love your channel! My young kids love to watch your videos. It got my older kid interested in Russia and the Soviet Union. We also made Kvass and Tarhun and we love them both!
I might be in the minority because I’m a student of Russian history, but I would love to see CrazyRussianDad do a video series where he talks about some important events in Soviet history maybe with some family anecdotes and stories peppered in. I’d kill to see CRD talk about Vysotsky or Novocherkassk riots or the difficulties of the 1990s for 10 minutes or so. Thumbs up if you agree!
Russia(and some of the associated former soviet states) has some of the craziest history up until the 20th century, at which point it kinda turns into a rinse and repeat cycle. But Russia’s early history is fascinating and super fun to learn about.
Same I like it
If people understood Russia’s history it might explain why Russia is the way it is today
Its my birthday today guys
have some kvas for ur birthday
Happy birthday comrade, have some Kvass 🍻
@@Mimi_Innit. firmented drink made of bread
Happy Birthday Comrade
Happy birthday 🎉
It's videos like these that motivate me to check my CZcams notifications, love you CRD!!
I’m jealous. Much love from the USA ❤️
That's surprising, an *American* that is jealous of what *the Commies* have.
Oh yes! Now the Buryatina is NOT exactly my favourite, but I still drink the three others regularly. Tarkhun is SO good (and good for your tummy when it's upset). It's not like any other soda around - some people need to "acquire" the taste but it's just awesome. I'm always amazed to see how many brands make it now! Seems like every time I go to our Russian markets here there's a new one (and now in every size! SWEET!). Baykal is my "treat yourself" drink (my Olga says it's good with Rum but that may be an "acquired taste" lol). Kvaaaaaaassssssss... I buy it. I MAKE it. It's starting to show up even in non-Russian/Eastern European stores around here, and I'm noticing on YT that a lot of people are making it now... very cool. It's SO easy to make! Our family recipe uses a LOT more raisins than most because we like it sweeter - but I even have a few packets of the "starter kit" for times when I can't get out to get black or Pumpernickel bread LOL BUT I DON'T HAVE A KVAS PROBLEM! lol). It's not SODA, but adding the Torani-style fruit syrups to fizzy water makes a tremendous drink (housemate is Slovenian, we have a good 12 or 15 flavours of syrups just for fizzy water lol).
I had a coworker that makes Kbac, it is awesome, can drink it all day, so good.
Tarhun is my favorite
The Tarragon pop sounds absolutely lovely
More to add my to my bucket list
just go buy them and try! no need to add to the bucket list ;)
@@CrazyRussianDad kvass is my fav one i have driken so many and i think Estonian lvass is good and the nikola kvass is the best in my opinion
I like these drinks. I often buy at a local Russian store in Budapest (Hungary).
I bought tarhun, and to me it tastes like licorice. I like licorice so it's good. I have had kvac before. I like it. You can get kvac in individual cans!
aaaaaahhh, looks so good
Give me that бурантино on my birthday on August 20!
deal! :)
They look very intriguing to try.
I want these drinks😊
The back in my day parent but actually good:
"Drink like a Soviet!"
**takes sip of Kvass**
**literally mutates into Vladimir Lenin**
I love Soviet union from Ireland my great great grandfather was a soviet soldier he was born in 1916 Almaty Kazakhstan he fought in the patriotic war of 1941-1945 he is my hero he was born in a harsh environment because there was war in Kazakhstan then in 1922 finally the Soviet union came a happy moment for my grandfather and he stayed went to stalingrad now Volgograd where he started his military training he got hero of honour medal of courage and other medals
YOU'RE the BEST!!
thank you for watching!!!
@@CrazyRussianDad greetings from Spain!
As a Russian kid this is so good
Eat and drink like soviet not as easy as it sounds, been looking for stores in my neighborhood, one is called Bucarest, so Romanian I guess, the other is Krakow, so polish. But I got some smoked kolbasa, black bread, butter, smoked cheese and caviar and kvass, couldn't find the other drinks though. Pickle too but not with oak leaves. Everyone very nice to me but I really felt like tourist. And I found that kvass is acquired taste, and I find it's better while I eat. Oh and polish place had great saurkraut, home made.
That Tarhun looks so refreshing. I wonder if it's available in Australia.
Okay if you saw this and wanted to try soviet sodas heres a few things to know:
1) Tarkhun is delicious but tarragon has alot of that "black liquorice" flavor that is damn near unpalatable to Americans.
2)Buratino tastes like Duchess, which tastes like Inca Cola (honestly just generic cola flavor without dark colors)
3) DO NOT buy mass produced Kvass, it tastes awful. If you're lucky your local Russian market will have "live kvass" which is actually pretty good but isnt even close to rootbeer.
4) Baikal is very refreshing but theres Eucalyptus in it which gives it kind of a dry astringent quality which wont be that palatable to Americans either.
Enjoy soviet snacks but keep in mind that these people have lived in a place of scarcity and under regimes where new ideas weren't embraced. Its good but not the same as what youd expect from similar things we eat here.
I grew up during the first Russian/American Cold War and I must say, I would welcome more Russians immigrating to America. What an excellent way that would be to "wash off" the propaganda stink of the first Cold War.
One more thing - the fur hat with the "I Voted" pin on the front - given the political climate in both America and Russia, it's kind of funny and I really want one! You should sell them in your channel store.
I greatly enjoy your videos and I hope you keep posting as often as possible.
Fanta video gonna be crazyyy🔥🔥🔥
I gonna find it & have try.. 😂
Sukabumi, indonesia 🇮🇩
So funny hear russian accent. Always remind me with MARSHA AND THE BEAR movie hhhhhhh
And Russian peoples they as like doll alive so beautiful have white skin😅😅😅😅😊😊
Yay soft drinks!
Tarhun, or as Boris the Shashlik King likes to call it, "Chernobyl Rainwater"
I've had Тархун and Квас multiple times from Russian stores around me. Certainly a experience, and those drinks are as good if not better than western alternatives. Would love to try байкал or буратино in the future too
you should! they are less "extreme", I think you will like
Happy Birthday 🎉♥️🎂
Interesting ans entertaining. How about Russian beers? Is there a huge variety, what are the ingredients and how about alcohol content and overall taste ? I would he really interested to see you crating a clip on this topic 😊
I am from georgia and i have to say that we still have tarhun lemonades and almost everyone enjoys them
Действительно ли это на вкус как лимонад, просто интересно?
Does it taste like American Lemonade 🍋, just curious?
I dont knoe what that is
Lol at the colour of that last one. Looks like 'fairy liquid' ( dish detergent here in uk) but probably tastes a lot nicer! 🟩💚😎👍
You did a lot of videos on drinks but why no video on kompot? Probably the most popular Russian drink
Maybe if Vladimir Putin drinks a soda soft drink he won’t want to fight anymore eh? Sounds like a good idea mate.
i wish you could livestream!
i have never done it....
Id definitely watch that!! 👍
I love the accent though
Baikal soda is the best❣ 😋👍
Dont forget beer was considered a soft drink till the early 2000s
WhTs your feelens in regards to the time pepsi came about. Was it really a big hit as they say
My favourite is Tears Of The Gulag.
Хороший квас кстати
Cause of the economy were these drinks rare? Or were they something you’d regularity find in the stores except during shortages
Must try these drinks 🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🪆🪆🪆🫡🫡🫡🫡 but where can buy?
Any Russian / Eastern European store - if there is one around (?)
Where can these get bought?
Haha i drinked all of It at my бабушка и дедушка

Can we buy these soda’s in 🇺🇸? I would like to try them but haven’t seen them. Probably because I don’t live in 🇷🇺 😅
Drink like a Soviet ypa ypa ypa
Imagine a hard drink
😂😂
Can I get this in America?
Kvass
Unfortunately our eastern european shop has closed some years ago.... And we don't get it on the Russian isle of our superstore..👎
Квас полезный когда тебя глава блед от водки
Рассола нет? 😢
How is kwas out of bread it tastes like beer 💀
He a real Russian? I am confused.
So much for only Vodka.
I just wish that Stalin would've been a little bit nicer. If he tried to make the USSR the best country in the world and forever peseeve it, he could have done it.
this is why it's so hard to beat russia in war, not because they are good soldiers, not because they have good equipment, not because they have great leaders.... we know they lack all 3, but because they torture themselves at home for fun, so what can you do to them that they haven't done to themselves 13 million times.
Kvas, beer, vodka, and Capitalism.
-Ukraine Soviet Sovereign Region
Ruski japlaka - 🥔
Try Rakia aka the balkan version of Vodka
Oh shit.. love it :)
Gracias Camarada desde Mexico
Never had Buratino or Baikal, but Kvass and Tarxun are both awesome.
I live in St. Petersburg, why does your accent sound so over exaggerated? By the way, I’ve visited the west and I can tell you right now that their soda is 100000 times better.
You'll be drinking your own tears when Trump loses again in November !
I am from Assam, India. But I am more than certain that, I was a Soviet/Russian in my last birth. So I share crazy Russian Dad's love for things Soviet ! Rasvitali yabloni grussi .......
What’s the sugar content though?
U JUST STARTED COLD WAR VERSION 2.0 BY THIS SOFT DRINK😂
I miss Baikal so much , it’s 10 times better than coke , the drink and drug lol .
Я все знаю и пью. :)
Oh I thought it was the USA Georgia. Oops. Better brush up on my geography 😂😂😂
Bring back the old ussr era
I had them all. . They are all gross. . All the candy from USSR was gross. . Why is all the food cold too?? Is it hard to heat up the meat and pasta. . I have Ukrainian family and I can't stand their food and stuff. .
Snacelo naucys govorit .
