    This is a great little chill-down game (an "Absacker" as we call them in Germany) that you can play at the end of a board game evening or just with people who are inexperienced in boardgaming as it takes just 2 minutes to teach and understand the rules. And it's also a great testimony to Reiner Knizia's amazing talent to find great fun in simple to teach rules.

      Well, yes, you’re right, I was comparing with last year’s nominees (I have a hard time explaining Azul to many people). And for example, I’m from México and the other two games won’t work for my group because not everybody speak english so the only language independent game is LAMA and I think those factors, like being inclusive (language, colorblind friendly, etc), should start being relevant.

    • @hamyncheese
      @hamyncheese Před 4 lety +2

      The rules state that chips may be freely swapped up at any time. Rusty FAILED to mention that and it caused the game to be played badly and it made the game seem half baked. Failing to mention that rule despite at least a few questions and concerns about chip mechanics during game play caused unnecessary confusion. The game seems quite boring regardless of whether or not it is played correctly.

      Thx for pointing this out. According to the rules, yes. But it does feel like "drawing" should give you that advantage.
      Makes sense to me that everyone else folded, so Nikki should be the start player, but yeah, they mimic what it says in the rulebook, so even though Nikki drew a card and Rusty folded, he was the last player to play a card, so he should have been the start player.
