I was blown away when I was first told by a Royal Marine that they used our humble C7 as their go-to automatic rifle. I knew it was adopted by a few other forces around the world, but it’s a bit of a badge of honour to hear it used by the SBS, SAS, and other elite units.

L119A1 was the SFW designation for British SF . They had a RIS handquard , picatinny upper receiver and it is rumored that the bit longer and heavier profile of the barrel (not the same as the Colt M4) was a specific SAS requirement for greater accuracy ... They ditched the ELCANs in favor of the ACOG . A truly legendary carbine in the hands of the SAS ....

Dude I knew about this weapon, and "fell in L💚ve" with it, around 17 years ago, when I bought a pc game called GHOST RECON, but more specifically, the ghost recon "Frostbite" mod, which introduced the amazing Diemaco SFW. I had NEVER heard a weapon in a game, SOUND so sweet, b/c in the game, you can select to run the Diemaco, suppressed!! I can't tell you how many times my son & I loaded up that game, on my pc, JUST to hear this gun dump. Put me in a good mood EVERY time i played the game. Dude, sometimes, we wouldn't even kill the bad guys in the mission. We would just do mag dumps, and tri-bursts, JUST to hear this thing "serenade" on my "high quality" Altec-Lansing speakers. And this gun, in the GAME, was accurate af!! The people @ Red Storm Entertainment, did an incredible job bringing the SOUNDS of warfare "to life", with precision & reliability, in a pc game(smh). Tom Clancy's GHOST RECON . . . one of my ALL TIME favorites! 👍

Funny story told to me years ago: Canadian troops on training rotations with US soldiers would have to make sure that they never left one of their rifles unattended, because they had a habit of being - ahem - "borrowed, long term" by our southern allies. We got 'em back most of the time, but the build quality and accuracy of the full size rifles was rumoured to be better than US issued weapons, and as a result, they had a tendency to 'wander' on occasion.
Not sure how true it is, but it was an odd point of pride with the guy who told me the tale that US troops liked our guns enough to try and steal them.

I have the semi auto 20” barrel “C7A2” version of this now relegated strictly to my safe. I sourced the green furniture, the tri/rail, the rear sight, an Elcan, and various other bits to make it a complete clone.
Thankyou Justin for keeping me safe from this horrific WMD. I guess I’ll just keep shooting my much less lethal Tavor.

They did however produce monolithic AR's, and were the sole mfg to do so besides LMT for a very long time. Nevertheless, Diemaco/Colt Canada has always been the go-to shop for special projects, Colt USA never could handle anything beyond their set in stone DOD M16/M4 designs due to neverending internal conflicts.
