    Great Review. Three things that I believe could be useful to include in reviews are the throttle response, body roll, motorway insulation.

      @peterlongwood9933 Před 3 lety +4

      I have a 2016 plate, throttle response is very quick compared to a scirocco I had.

      What’s motorway insulation? Are you talking about the cabin noise when driving on the motorway?

    Your review is misleading, you say all models come with sat nav, which is true, but you are showing the professional satnav which is a £900 optional extra

    • @smilly9
      @smilly9 Před 7 lety +3

      Bob indeed, also notice he says you get an armrest with cup holders, you only get that if you pay £180 extra for the through loading system 40 20 40 split seats.

      @tufftraveller4784 Před 6 lety +2

      As of 2018 they all come with sat Nav now lol.

      Smith tuff Gamer not the widescreen sat nav like in this video though

      What do you mean "which is true"? Is that so in England? In Germany, the Navi is a +2000€ option, it's insane! I get my 3rd BMW 1 series in 2 months, and I refuse to pay that, I still stick my 150€ navi on the window...which also has lifetime map updates for free, while it costs 80€ at BMW to upgrade. Premium car or not, I don't work to throw my money away into over priced features!

      Not to mention leather, adaptive suspension, dual zone climate control, cruise control and xdrive these were all options on the 120d so this is a very high spec car. Not a true reflection of a standard model!

    yet another great review, like the way you left the sting in the tail....the top spec price ! shame you do not work for top gear.

      Thank you! We're happy for Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc to try keep Top Gear alive if it means we get to keep hold of our presenters! ;)

    You can pick up the M140i with huge discounts, I've ordered mine recently with an on the road price of £28,300.
    A brand new car with 335BHP to the back wheels, 0-60 in 4.6 seconds (Auto gearbox) is fantastic value for money compared to it's competitors.

    You never talk about road and engine noise, I've just watched the Volvo v40 video and you didn't mention it there either. It's something I would like to know about.

    Heyyo! What would you recommend between the 118d, 120i and the 125i?
    Unfortunately the only models of the 1 series available in Australia are the 118i, 118d, 120i, 125i and the 140i so that's all I've got to choose from
    Thanks!

    I Have a 2016 120d m Sport my 4th BMW now and everyone has been first class along with the service you get from the dealers. I put it up against a Audi A3 s line in the end he pulled over they cant take a corner. they are a great handling and quick car over taking is a breeze. I like the comment below by simon, seems a little green with envy to me, what do you drive a pug? lol.

    You are not mentioning all the optional extras in this review, and like somebody has mentioned, a few things you say are standard are indeed not. On top of the professional media option, the leather interior is not standard, the car has driver comfort option which gives dual zone AC, the adaptive suspension is an expensive extra, the load through and split rear seats is extra as is the flappy gear box. Good review badly let down by poor homework. Would I have one.. yes, do I think its worth the money... yes.

    • @smilly9
      @smilly9 Před 7 lety +1

      Mark Bamford I noticed that as well the through loading system with rear centre armrest is an option. He implied it was standard.

    If BMW stopped putting diesel engines in their cars, sales would plummet. People buy (sorry, lease them on pcp deals) and think they are driving sports cars or something, yet are mostly diesels. What is it with the term "sports saloon"?. Its a saloon car, not a sports car. Talk about identity crisis. Fools are easily parted with their money.

    • @marccasanovasmaqueda6577
      @marccasanovasmaqueda6577 Před 8 lety +18

      These diesel engines made by bmw are so good, starting with max torque at 1500rpm and pushing hard untill 5500. Maybe you dont get the noise, but the performance is so good that youu can drive it in a sporty way.

      For people like me this is a good choice as I do to many miles for a petrol sports car so this is the next best thing for myself!
