    Hello Bob.
    I learned the van life from you. 4 years now. Takes a bit to get use to live without all the junk.
    The freedom is amazing. I am on the east coast. Even my wife likes it. I am the same age as you. I only hope i can do for another 20 years.
    We are much more healthy. Thanks again.

    $900 on the Amazon link, did not find additional coupon. Impressed to see LiFePO4. Personally, for a modest size van, I'd prefer 2 smaller units, one >100ow for 12v fridge and one equal or smaller for all else and to back up fridge when charging. I can't discreetly charge or lug around 80 lb. but it does deserve a good look at specs/durability for those who can manage this size. 2 yr warranty.

    • @nonya.bizness
      @nonya.bizness Před 7 měsíci +7

      agreed, and not just for the size, weight, and rotation charging aspects you mentioned. having 2 of any critical component is always WAY better than having one. that way if one malfunctions, you don't have to deal with a broken power station ~and~ a useless fridge full of food.

    • @CherrieMcKenzie
      @CherrieMcKenzie Před 7 měsíci +8

      I agree. I have an Ecoflow Delta Max and it weighs (they say) 40 lbs. and it is pretty heavy so I can only imagine the weight of 80 lbs. For the price it is good if you can manage a way to set it up and never have to move it again.

    To expand on why LiFePO4 is superior, look at the Jackery with standard LiIon battery being rated for 500 cycles of use whereas most LiFePO4 batteries are rated for 2000 - 3000 cycles of use. It's such a vast improvement in tech, it's like going from incandescent to LED bulbs.

    I bought the Duracell unit at Costco a few years ago (not LifePo) and one of the quirks was that if the power goes out or you can only charge for a limited time, the unit would not charge any more than the level you reached. Luckily, it was a Costco purchase so I was able to return it (along with 40% of the other purchasers). So now, that is one of my first tests. Things we learn along the way that wouldn't even occur to us to check are so valuable to share with each other. Thank you for always being honest in your reviews even though I'm sure Bluetti is not going to love this one!

    I just got the Ecoflow Delta Max 2000 during Amazon Prime day. I paid $1,100 for it (It is currently $1,400). It has 2016watts output and weighs 46lbs. It is expandable, it has UPS capability. I will be using it as an UPS for my computer room at home in the winter, and it will go in my off road trailer in the summer. My trailer also has a 2,500watt dual fuel generator. Doing the math, I should be able to charge the Ecoflow from 25% to 100% in an hour. The generator uses about 3/4 of one gallon of fuel per hour, but that is at full output. The only electricity my trailer uses are LED lights and a mini fridge (stove and hot water are propane). I am confident that I will have all the electricity I need for about $4 per day running the generator for one hour per day. I always camp in a forest, so solar panels would be just throwing money away. I have a 1200watt sine inverter for my truck. I will probably set it up, so that it is charging the Ecoflow while I'm driving. That way I arrive with a full charge.

      remember oem alternators can't take a big drain like that for long, and they are lower in amps, so install one that is built for a constant full on 1200 w load that will charge your unit like a house plug would. And also run your cabin fan (500w@max), spark plugs, headlights, stereo, rear defrogger, etc

    I’m new at this living little and cozy thing. I’m sure I’m going to love it and I can’t wait to get started and I am open to any advice and teaching moments I can muster up. I have recently acquired ( it’s not here yet) a Montana fifth wheel with a gooseneck hitch. My brother and his wife lived in it for a few years while they built their house. It is a 2006. It’s not brand new but it isn’t a lousey brand either. I can’t stand particle board and refuse to pay for anything that contains it. It swells when wet, period. Do not do particle board. I realize I have a lot to learn. Would like to go solar as much as possible, but I know nothing about generators. I would like advice about that… thanks to anyone who can help…with anything.

    I've been renting for coming up on 9 yrs. No complaints but I don't know if I want to pay rent for another 9 yrs ? I enjoy learning from all your videos. We'll see what the crazy future brings ? We're living in fast times now with the upcoming war we are in. Who knows how high gasoline is going to get ? A lot of uncertainty ?

      Most of this uncertainty is coming straight out of Washington. The so called leaders of this country are running around lost,and infighting.

    Yeah, longevity that's the thousand dollar question WITH EVERYTHING. All the test people online rarely take that into consideration. Instead they do endurance tests which is useless for 90% of end users.

    maybe some of the commenters can answer this newbie question: These portable power stations, they are obviously wired to be able to recharge from solar panels. Is it possible to recharge them while driving your vehicle from your van's or truck's electrical system?

    • @bparker8195
      @bparker8195 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Yes, via the 12v receptacle and adapter.

    • @dangeroustoman
      @dangeroustoman Před 7 měsíci +2

      Yes through the cigarette lighter port but it will take forever(days of driving) to charge that way.
      Best is solar either on the roof or portable panels.

    • @amydelpiere9315
      @amydelpiere9315 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Yes. Most power stations will come with a 12-volt cigarette lighter cord you use to charge while driving.

    • @Rashnak66
      @Rashnak66 Před 7 měsíci

      yes but.... you can run a cigarette charger cable at only 100 watts, or you can get a dc-to-dc charger installed to run at higher load but you may burn out your alternator.

      @aaronhartmann7658 Před 7 měsíci

      The 600w bluetti eb3 comes with a cigarette lighter charger. You can probably run lines off battery and make your own barrel plug. If they have an ac charger, just plug 300w inverter into lighter for faster charging time.

    Hi Bob,
    I went to Amazon but not sure what codes are? It’s in my cart but over $1000?
    Looks like it may be a good one to try as I have been looking for one since I watched a video of yours on another power station but they only had 4 of those at the time and it hasn’t come back in stock.
    I really appreciate and enjoy your videos
    Thanks,
    Pam

    That's about the same price or even cheaper than building a DIY 200Ah battery system! Minus all the hassle of building a system, totally worth it.
